My mom harvest them 3 times before throwing them into the compost. From my experience, the 2nd one tastes the best, and 3rd one is okay, but a little on the bitter side. Usually we harvest on day 8, 12 and 16, and toss them all away after that. We start a 2nd batch usually on day 7/8.

Hey, You always provide brilliant tips and I need your expert advice. I'm facing issues with seed germination and plant growth, and I'd appreciate your insights: 1- Germination Challenges: Despite good airflow and careful watering, mold forms on my seeds (it looks Like a cloud all over my tray) even though I use less seeds. How can I prevent this? 2- Weak Seedlings: My seedlings are weak (They grow zig zag and looks like they will fall within 2~3 days). What can I do to promote stronger growth? 3- Ideal Conditions: What are your recommended humidity and temperature levels for germination and growth? 4- Air Circulation: How do you manage air circulation in closed environments? Your help would mean a lot to me. Thanks in advance for your time!
@plantvibrations
@plantvibrations 9 месяцев назад
As they germinate and start growing they always form the layer of white looking mold but it is not mold. Are you giving them sufficient light for strong growth? You can use a small fan if desired

How many days are you allowing them to grow? My trays yield roughly the same - enough for 4-5 days of shots. That’s the main issue I find with growing wheatgrass, it requires dedication starting new trays every 5-6 days or so if you want daily intake

At least now, I have something showing other than seeds laying in dirt or a container. It’s about two inches… and I’ve noticed growing without dirt, the wheatgrass is growing longer, however, they have what looks like white cotton in the roots. Is that normal? That’s not fungus, is it? …and if it is, how can I get rid of it…and even after being washed off, is it too dangerous to eat?
@plantvibrations
@plantvibrations Год назад
That cottony stuff is not harmful and always present, when you harvest the wheatgrass you’ll leave that part connected to the soil so no worries about consuming

Hi, is it really best to cut 6 days worth and store in frig in plastic bag like that or juice only what you need to consume each day? Seems more convenient but do you risk loosing quality of nutrition and mold when it sots in the fridge?
@plantvibrations
@plantvibrations Год назад
Hi jo-Ann. Great question. Both options are less than optimal (which of course is juicing and consuming all at once), but studies have shown that nutritional content of wheatgrass actually diminishes after 8 days of growing. As in the wheatgrass would be less nutritious day 9 compared to day 8 if left in the soil. Of course quality is also difficult to maintain cut and stored in the fridge. But I found that I prefer that method. Try both and see what works for you

If you're looking into juicers, research auger driven and not centrifuge. Centrifuge juicers heat up the products by nature of the motion, and kill some of the beneficial things in the final product. Auger driven juicers are worth the look see. We've had the same one for 15 years and it still works like brand new. Many auger driven juicers will make nut butters and pastas.

Okay so you Calle the a homeopathic method. You like Amy others think the word homeopathic means all natural remedies. Homeopathy is ONE form of a title medicine. It’s a process a substance is made with dilution and succession. It’s like called your wheat grass “essential oils” it’s not it’s a natural whole food but not “homeopathic” just to clarify and educate you on that. Most people don’t really know what homeopathy even is so it’s confusing.

I was curious why you couldn't just eat it or blend it into a smoothie instead of juicing?
@kristij8263

Because our bodies can't digest it. Cows can because they have four stomachs. It has to be juiced.
