We were honored to be a part of this episode and the Zero Landfill Initiative. It really takes work and many hands to make a difference, and Joe, Carl and team pulled together an amazing snapshot of these efforts. Denali holds a special place in our hearts!! Keep up the good work! If Subaru can do it, can't we all????
Another incredible episode! Joe, thank you for this amazing series, I think it's the highest quality gardening show out there by far. I always learn so much from you.
Hi Chloe. This is Joe. Thank you so much for this incredible compliment. We do pour our heart and soul into these episodes. Thanks for appreciating and enjoying our shows and taking a moment to let us know.
I'm not a eco nut. But common sense. If it doesn't biodegrade it only accumulates. I'm guilty but I am recycling aluminum and glass. I want to get away from plastic because I have no access for recycling near me.
Very good kick off of the season. We can't complain about our crazy weather compared to those Alaskan gardener challenges. But man o man do they grow some beautiful veg. Thanks for sharing.
With hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, we obviously yearn for environments/landscapes such as this. We should all do our part to limit our footprint in these places. I know that trashcans blow over, animals get into them and then there are people who drop their trash along the trails because they dont care. We all create some form of waste and can help to curb some of it. Thank you for the tips on how to do so.
Such an inspiring episode and a perfect way to start Season 10! The park looks amazing as do the people committed to preservation with a ZERO landfill goal. I particularly love how residents are using their ingenuity to figure out how to grow such beautiful fruits & vegetables while working around the quirks of the seasons. New episode needed on reaping the benefits of "gardening with the midnight sun!" Sustainability with a "forever mindset," can be the mantra of every community. Thanks to all who participated and glad I bought a Subaru 5 years ago!! So happy to be able to watch this on RU-vid. Thanks as always Joe. -MJ
I've been fortunate enough to load up in a little Cessna to fly over many remote landscapes in Alaska and there are simply no words to describe it's wondrous magnificence, are there? So happy you got to experience it, as well! This show and the efforts of so many give me hope where many times hope falters in the face of human consumption and waste. Thank you for your important message(s) and thank your cameraman (people?) for capturing the stunning beauty of a piece of our beautiful planet. Peace & blessings to EVERYONE involved in this show and these efforts. I will forever do my part to help!
I am really inspired by your videos, thanks! As someone in the UK, I would have liked to see more about the Denali zero waste campaign e.g. ads, what worked best, challenges, etc.
Reduce, recycle, reuse is great. good to see that waste can be collected in a responsive way, but the second half is what happens to the products later. I hear about recycled e-waste ending up in landfills in Asia, or other recycled products finally ending up in other landfills because there is no market for them. Great start but so far to go. Everyone needs to help.
Look up Denali Education Center online and contact them regarding the stickers. Then put it on the water bottle or thermos of your choice. That's what I did.
