Growing Avocado Trees From Seed - 1 YEAR Timelapse

These avocado plants were grown under grow lights from seed and filmed over 1 year. A Mars Hydro TS grow light was used with a mixture of 16:8 and 14:10 Day:Night ratios. In the final part of the video (2:35 onwards) a 24h day-only cycle was used and a chnage in movement of the leaves can be seen.
These plants grew shorter and slower than is normally seen with natural light growing. The leaf node distances on the stems were notably shorter than normal too.

If something happens to your plant it could be the cause of genetics and you cant really do much against it I had 2 🍋trees and 1 of them suddenly died without a reason from 1 night to the other beacuse its genetics were so bad thats completely normal if you buy seeds from store

The reason why some of them didn't make is that you're refilling the water everytime to the top. It damages the avocado's "embryo" inside. Try refilling the water to less then half of the avocado ball or what is it

@@TheTimelapseTeam I have heard putting the avocado tree outside can improve growth as well as fertilizer, I personally use nitrogen. However I am new to planting avocado trees and only today I have put my avocado tree outside. It's only about 7 inches but it's looking healthy. I have also heard of a dripper irrigation system can work well for your plant, maybe you should try it out.

@anonima7748
@anonima7748 3 года назад
@@TheTimelapseTeam Yeah put them outside when it will get cooler, they love staying outdoor since they're tropical plants (in general every plant grows better if it stays outdoor in the spring and summer time, also in the autumn, if they get a little cold, not under 10 °C in this case, they will grow better in the warm seasons, it stimulates the growing-rest cycle, that doesn't happen staying indoor). Just remember to get them used to sunlight and avoid direct sun from 11 am to 4 pm in the summer, especially if they're young plants. Also avoid windy places and heavy rainfalls. Remember that every plant prefers to stay outdoor because that's where they come from and so they're projected to survive outside, just get them used to it.

Hey guys I need help. My avocado is almost a year old. I forgot to give it water for 2 weeks so the leaves started pointing down. This week they became dark brown but not like they lack water but more like the all leaf had a brown stain all over. I'm scared it dies, should I cut the bad leaves? Other leaves become brown, I hope it will still grow. Its part of my bedroom and I really like it❤I don't want to lose it, I put so much efforts to make it grow.😥 Since I planted it I really see that plants are alive and I have so much respect for them. No, what happens is that not all the seedling are born equally strong and healthy because of genetic, which depends on the mother plant and on the pollen used to pollinate the flower, so some will eventually die for different causes like diseases or weakness, no matter the help you can give them. I myself have been able to experiment this planting whatever seed I came across, not all of them germinated and not all of the germinated ones have grown, this is life.
