Very good fruit and with lots of benefits to our health, thanks for sharing this video i love 💘 jamun when i was in punjab growing up in village lots of memories with jamun fruit and trees. When I move to Seattle area I will order some plants, one of the thing about jamun is the vinegar 👌 it has so many benefits and its very hard to find, it kills any bad bacteria or viruses in stomach even it clean out any hair in the stomach.middle of the day in 40° temperature after school we climb the tree and spend hours picking the fruit and eating same time, sometimes the with heat and climbing too far branch breaks down and guys get hurt specifically breaking arm, God farming jamun fruit will be very profitable in the State of Arizona and California. I'm glad to have found this video. God bless you all.
Great video. This fruit is also known as Java plum and "Ribena" in Jamaica because of its similar taste to the drink. A worthwhile tree to have, heavy fruiter and relatively low maintenance just bear in mind the fruit temporarily stains the ground where it falls
I have a jamun plant now at my home now thats grown from seed and is one year old. Your video gives me good information and confidence to grow my favorite fruit tree here. I have grown climbing this tree for the fruits as a kid a back.in India!
I have started growing a jamun tree in California zone 9b and trying to research as much as I can about taking care of it. I am so happy to see this specimen. Hope mine grows healthy too. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
The only problem is when the fruits are ripe they just fall on the ground, back india our entire yard use to go purple after one rain and these fruits getting ripe
We get plenty in India and big ones. Its seeds are medicinal. Should dry them and blend them into a powder and have it with warm water. Good for diabetics.
That was incredibly informative. I have two that are potted and planning on growing them in San Diego. Hope they can handle the coastal wind. So far they look better suited than most of my other subtropicals in containers.
I love Jamun fruit and it is found in plenty in New Delhi. You will find this tree grown on the road side, within societies as well. Kids harvest the fruit using all possible means at their disposal.
I remember climbing it to pick the best jamun back in india. But this tree is very low, i remember that in india the trunk of the tree was longer than this.
My jamun tree is 6 years old at 17 ft tall, the fruits shape like a peanut with 2 seeds. Large sizes plump like a cheery. My friend brought The seeds from cambodia and plant it in mesa Az. I was told that the tree in this video is call the wild jamun, it usually found all over the country side in cambodia, Nobody care to eat this kind because it is too small and tart.
I was wondering why you don't grow or sell Tamarillo trees in Arizona. They are super easy to grow and they are beautiful. Is there any explanation why you don't grow them
We have those all over the town of kalaheo on the island of Kauai Hawaii and the birds eat it and they shit purple all over the cars and houses it’s a huge mess .

Its not a ficus. It is wild in southeast asia. In the Malay language it's called the ink (dakwat) tree. The color stains the tongue and clothes. Fun for kids.
I have to check out a tree in my neighborhood next to the main road. Was walking by 2 weeks ago, thought it looked kinda like coffee bean (knowing it wasn’t), green, yellow, red, black berries. Wonder if its jamun! Going to go back and see. I’m in northern Cali btw
I planted persimmons last spring in Vegas. lost one tree , one fruited the other two tree are getting by and starting to put on new growth for the fall season. Your tree may be too far gone. Try to perk it up with Superthrive liquid feed and foliar feed. They need sun protection for the first two years.
It takes about five to six years to get fruit and also depends on variety of the plant. I'm saying thirty years ago they might have better variety plants today, but it's worth to have.
