I have a Julie mango tree growing in a pot. I live in South Louisiana close to New Orleans. Our winters somtimes are brutal in January and Feb

I got a mango tree for my bday in November, it was about 4ft. When I got it. 4 months later, all the leaves turned brown. I took them off, and it's been almost a month and there's 1 leaf up top. I never cut it, was I supposed to cut the main stick? Idk much about this... I'm in Florida and it was outside but it did get into the low 40s on many nights during the winter. Did I kill my tree?? I don't know what to do.

my mango tree (Alfonzo from seed) for 3 years doing good grown 10ft in the container. Suddenly last summer from top it's leaves turning dried and twig become black from bottom. So I cut off the top main stem to 6ft. Removed the soil completely and re-filled with new organic potting mix in a new bigger pot 16". It was doing good for 4 months and suddenly one of the branch leaves drooped and branch begging dried . I cutoff the branch. I did treat with copper fungicide and neem oil. I see there are fungus heads flyes in all my plant pots soil. They are flying every where. Could any one suggest what I should do further. I love this mango plant. I don't what to see it's dying. Please help

Did you paint the container white to cool it down during the summer months?

Chandler Rental Properties I wrap my black pots with white kitchen shelf liners to keep them cooler in the summer and can peel it off in the winter when I want them to absorb more warmth.

@@gardenofluma9697 Thanks for the reply, I am thinking about growing some mango in pots as my micro climate in my yard is terrible. The only trees are just small citrus from big box stores I planted a month ago. When do you think is a good time to buy? Feb or March? Loving the raining right now

Chandler Rental Properties You could buy whenever as long as your going to protect them from cold. I’d recommend buying a 7gal or larger size tree. Larger trees have a sturdier branch structure that is hard to get when starting with the 3gal size in our climate. Id try to find trees with the lowest branching if keeping it long term in a pot. On a side note, are you a real estate investor? I’m just about to close on my first investment property out of state. May need to trade garden tips for investing tips.

@@gardenofluma9697 Congrats on your purchase. I am a wanna be real estate investor. I am just starting out and I only have one rental at the moment. This is more of a side income for me at the moment as I have a very young daughter and a full time job. I wished I started 2-3 years ago as the price and rent of homes have increased a lot in the Phoenix area. More people are moving in every day and construction is not keeping up. I think we will see more migration from high cost to lower cost area (with jobs).
