In this video, I am sowing two varieties of Alyssum seeds, Pastel mix and Violet queen. Sweet Alyssum makes excellent filler plant in a border or patio container, and present an eye catching showy display in any garden. I am also talking about the basics of starting seeds indoors and how and when to start start Alyssum seeds. I am planting sweet Alyssum in my patio containers combined with other summer annuals. I am also showing the progress of sweet Alyssum and how they look at their peak of flowering. I am also talking about saving Alyssum seeds and how to harvest Alyssum seeds.

Exactly everything I was looking for with nothing I wasn't! I live near enough pittsburgh to practice there but close enough to the home dairy farm to have my own land and I need polinators and a healthy ecosystem and haven't been able to wait to start my alyssum colors, canterbury bells, sweed peas, and hollyhocks!

Wonderful channel. I like your approach - full lifecycle of the flower. Business-like lessons. No unnecessary storytelling. Always to-the-point!

How long did it take for the seedlings to get to 2nd stage, where it's noted 24/4/2020? Mine are 6 weeks with true leaves, but still small.
@GardeningWise
@GardeningWise 2 года назад
It took almost 5 weeks as I started seeds on 20th of March and they were ready to be planted by 24/4/2020. Yes you can plant them now in their final destination and within few weeks they will be big and full.

i planted my alyssum also on march but by April most of the seedlings died.....i dont know what happened. İ always kept the soil moist. Can i still plant alyssum in autumn?
@GardeningWise
@GardeningWise 3 года назад
It depends on your climate and growing zone whether you can start them in Autumn or not. It is still spring in UK so I can still start them. Too much moisture can also kill seedlings due to damping off. Let the top inch of soil dry between waterings.
