i have an aerogarden i bought for $14 at goodwill...and it was like new and worked great i grew spinach and jalapenos...some people put aluminum foil around their plants to reflect more light when plants get tall... loved your video i am now getting my aerogarden out again, I put it aside for awhile....hope to see more of your future harvests!!!

Loved your video. I have an Aerogarden Harvest and I am growing red chili peppers, cherry tomatoes, lettuce and globe basil. I was growing rosemary but the tomato plant over shadowed it so it stopped getting a lot of light and it’s very small. I was going to move it but I’m worried I’ll do some damage to the plants. I learned from watching your video that placement in the Aerogarden makes a big difference.

I'm started growing food in two in of the AeroGarden units about a month ago. One with the herb garden and the other with bell peppers, tomatoes and the poblano peppers. The tomatoes and peppers seem to be doing well. They're looking healthy. And the herb garden seems to be growing well, except for the chives. It didn't sprout. No big deal to me because I've never even learned how to use used chives in my cooking in the first place yet. So I wouldn't know what to do with them anyways. The basil is doing great. But the mistake I made was putting them right next to each other. They are growing a lot faster than the rest of the plants in that herb garden. One skeptical concern I had with the indoor hydroponic system is that the herbs might not taste as goon as the plants grown outdoors in the sun. I harvested some basil leaves and used them in some pizza sauce. That pizza tasted tasted very good. It passed my taste test.
@ketowolf
@ketowolf 3 года назад
This sounds great! My biggest concern with growing tomatoes and peppers with this my bit of skepticism that it can grow ENOUGH for a person. Do you think it grows enough for one person? Is it like 15 cherry tomatoes after 2 months of growing or something? 15 every 2 months would kinda make me sad. But I LOVE the idea of growing vegetables this way. So I’m just curious.
@MindfulLivingA
@MindfulLivingA 3 года назад
Hi thanks for the comments! It definitely is not as high producing like growing a large size cherry tomato outside which produces tons of tomatoes. These plants are a dwarf variety and quite compact. Personally I love growing my own food so anything I get I am happy with! In the winter I miss my garden outside so I enjoy growing in the AeroGarden during that time, which is when I did this video. If you’re looking for more high producing plants I’d recommend growing any lettuce or greens instead which can be harvested many times.

A very nice grow! Every harvest from an AeroGarden should be multiplied by 100 due to the *'Satisfaction Factor Qualifier (SFQ).'* 😆 Like many others, I've now gotten the AeroGarden / hydroponic addiction, too. I started growing (in soil) back in 1989 - 1990, but it's even more fun doing it in hydroponics. So far I have (2) AeroGarden Bounty Basics, (2) AeroGarden knockoffs, an 8-bucket DWC system, soon to be a 2-tote system, and probably fairly soon, an AeroGarden Farm XL. Hopefully someone will stop me, as I can't stop myself. I wonder if there's an AeroGarden 12-step program? 😆 A great video. Thank you.

QUESTION: I'm also growing cherry tomatoes indoors and mini bell peppers. Everything is going great so far on the cherry tomatoes, but I'm not sure what has happened with my mini bell peppers is normal. The flowers on your jalapeno plant are exactly like the one on my mini pepper plant. The first flower fell off and so far nothing has grown in its place. As of this morning the second flower has fallen. Is this normal for them to fall so soon after blooming?

Sorry to hear that! Sometimes you need to prune the plant while it’s growing, before it gets too tall. I would probably just trim the leaves that are getting burned by the lights and leave the blossoms as it may not produce as many (or any more) if you trim it all and could potentially shock the plant. Good luck with your tomatoes!

Hi there! I just purchase seeds from my local garden centre, online, or with AeroGarden directly. Did you start it with the AeroGarden tomato seed pod or planted your own? It depends on the variety, if it’s a dwarf variety (like I grew here) then it will only grow to a set height then the plant will start producing tomatoes. Other varieties can grow very tall and would need to be transplanted eventually or they will grow past the light.
