Yep, I totally agree. I've always thought girls that covered more of their bodies and more less makeup and Jewelry we're always much more attractive to me and the ones that did show their bodies off and call themselves up made them look more like a tool than an actual human being. As an apostolic I'm very thankful for my wife. She takes pride in the standards she presents not only for herself but for our daughters as well. Those standards come from the word of GOD.

My parents raised me in a nondenominational home and I never felt pressured. We learned about the Bible in the home rather than in a church because that was the whole point of church not being just a building. It was a gathering. I wore what I was comfortable in, but still represented my aesthetic with leather jackets and what not. I was still modest and respectful. Still loved God and celebrated my differences from others because I was made uniquely like others. You should never feel pressured.

@@djpopcorn When Jesus had brought about Christianity, it was supposed to be for everyone and without division. What I mean by non-denominational is that those Christians don't go by any other title other than Christian as they're not a part of any main-line (popular) sections. They don't need to go to a church building to learn about the Bible from a pastor, but instead criticize and learn together. Skeptism was encouraged. The whole point of it was to not be main-line like Catholicism, Baptist, etc. It's been around for thousands of years but was only given any recognition in the 20th century.
I used to do that when I was a teenager. Even though I loved God. My parents are first generation apostolic's. so they didn't really teach us how to pray or how to build a relationship with God so I ended up back sliding and I had a daughter at 17 and that relationship ended badly my daughter still to this day never sees her father, she is 20 and me and my daughter have a not so good relationship but now that I am older, and I know that only God can fix are problems that we have with ourselves and with our lives and with her children, I wish I would have took the time to read my Bible and really get to know Jesus the way I do now! I've had cancer I am overcoming homelessness not to mention alcoholism and drug addiction. I have been clean for over a year and it's only by Gods grace that I am still here. I have a purpose I am loved thank you Jesus!
I spent over 20 something years, drinking and drugging and remember something the Lord had spoke to me after delivering me. I stood in front of the mirror, putting on mascara, when the Lord said, “Really? You think you can improve what I created?” in that moment I understood that natural is best, just the way the Lord created me.
I grew up Pentecostal, am 48 now, still a proud Apostolic! I never did this myself, but I did have friends from my church back then that did this exact thing. Never got a love for the truth. When I compare my life to theirs now??…I’m so thankful that I got a hold of something real as a young person. Their lives are so messed up. Not one of them are living for God today. Married 3,4,5x…problems with drugs and alcohol, estranged from their familes, from their own kids because of terrible lifestyles. I remember kids in high school telling me to just wait, that when i hit 18 i would b outta there. Nope. Nothing that was offered to me could ever take the place of what i found in serving God with all my heart. I don’t regret a mile I’ve traveled for the Lord.

Grateful for the Pentecostal Apostolic standards that I lived by as a teen and joyfully still do. Modesty is a beautiful thing. God does care how we dress as men and women of God. We should look different and be separate from the dying world we are trying to save. We should not be dressing to sexually attract anyone as a child of God. You can still look very beautiful/handsome & be modest at the same time.
If you shelter your child to the point of suffocation once they taste freedom they will run amuck. You must allow your child to make decisions and then guide them through those decisions. I have two girls and both of them are modest and I never had to punish or beat them into submission for them to know what being a good woman meant. I’m a single mom. It was hard but Them and I have made it through the storm unscathed. 🙏🏽

No real church girl is doing this! I grew up apostolic Pentecostal and I still am. When you have your own convictions this isn’t necessary. I wish kids who didn’t care for church were more honest. They make it seem like church and loving God is hard to do when it’s not. This was unnecessary. If you aren’t convicted about how you present yourself that’s your own journey. Do not make it seem like we are all doing this.

First of all it's a funny skit. I had Pentecostal friends when I was growing up. We all did little teenage things. But it was all innocent, we weren't boy crazy, we all graduated with honors, we all maintained our virginity until we were adults and married AND STIL 'til this day all of us never drink we've never smoked; we put our Creator above everything else, so calm down comment section. Every human being, including the judgmental ones in this comment section, constantly goes through growing pains & changes of Life which includes mental, physical and spiritual searching on life's journey. People in these comments don't give credit that the skit is about youth, a developing brain, raging teen hormones and trying to understand growing into adulthood. Just laugh and move on.

The scripture says: Deuteronomy 22:5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God. I say this to make you aware of where the not being able to wear jeans part comes from…. A lot of people don’t know this verse. I’m an atheist, but I used to be super religious and still hold many values of that to this day. It sucks that many forget that wrath is also a deadly sin. The thing is, human minds are all different, two people can read the same book and come away with very different understandings. That’s why even though there’s 1 Bible, there are hundreds of kinds of Christianity and religion based off of it. Some agree 99% and some barely agree. The point being that, if their is a god, I don’t think he would like to see so many people fighting for his word and bashing each other for his love.

You won’t answer to your church, or to your pastor or to your friends about your appearance anyway… you will answer to God as to why you did not submit yourself to His Word. If your outward appearance doesn't matter, then how are you suppose to stand out from the world? How would I be able to tell the difference, if I walked up to a group of people and be able to pick the apostolic(s) (you) out from the crowd? How could I tell? Holiness comes from within and reflects on our outward appearance. The Bible also speaks against jewelery, piercings and makeup. Just because others are "allowing" it and okay with it, doesn't mean it's okay or right with God.
But, yes, come to God as you are. He will make the changes. New comers and babes in Christ don't know everything, they haven't had the change in heart, or experiences others have, yet, with God. Grew up Pentecostal my whole life and never seen these being enforced in my church. Was raised with “Come to God as you are.”Sadly not all of them are like that.
I went to school with a couple kids Pentecostal. The girl had to change out of her dress into pants and shirt after getting to school. She wasn't indecent. Just wanted to fit in. Didn't wear anything immoral. The boy was a bit on the rebellious side. Their dad ran the church out of their basement and was very strict. Our guess was that when they got out of the house they would be Pentecostal no more
Y’all talking about the modesty and god. I’m tired of being thought of as fat when I wear big baggy clothes. She’s still dressed modestly in this while also showing she has a nice figure/ some degree of fitness. It sucks being thought of as having an unattractive body all the time in the name of “modesty”. Her outfit is already a level of modesty.
If your insides or heart is holy and righteous, then it should also show on the outward appearance too. The Bible says without holiness, no man shall see the Lord. We just have to pray that God gives us all the revelation on what holiness and salvation and truth is.

Modest dressing is respectful to other people and something that pleases our creator but it isn't part of our salvation. However, if you were saved by faith first and foremost, why wouldn't you want to live your life in a way that pleases our God?

I had a friend like this and her grandma came up to the school to embarrass her by beating her. That’s what slightly opened my eyes up to how cruel religion was. The older i got and studied i left it behind and felt better as an individual.

My mom grew up pentecostal. The men abuse their wives and children, and they treat women like whores. The husbands have affairs. Many kids get molested by the pastors and fathers but the women keep silent. They will tell you you are going to hell for wearing makeup and cutting your hair.

It was being brought up like this that attracted my husband of now 40 years. The mother's back then taught us how to dress and to carry ourselves and have a relationship with GOD.

My oldest daughter shared with me that she did this when younger/ teenager. Now she has a personal walk with God and lives and dresses as a modest child of God with her own convictions according to the Word of God.
Yup we were brought up in COGIC. It was believed that pants would send you to hell. But Bishop GE Patterson (One of our presiding Bishops) did a great sermon on it. It’s on RU-vid. He said if that’s the case, then we would all go to hell bc scripture back then stated not to wear different clothing textures. He said when we read, we need to read more than just that one verse verse. The scripture referenced was about us women not wearing anything pertaining to a man. But Bishop pointed out the history of pants. The word comes from the term Pantaloons which were not even created back then. Great teaching check it out! But COGIC gave me a great foundation as a youngster even now that I’ll always be grateful for! I’ve seen real live miracles happen right there during service. My vision restored. Ppl with AIDS back in the 90s healed. Ppl that were shot survived! It taught me how big and powerful our God is and that He is always there for us! But now I also know how loving God is as well. In all of our getting, we have to get that understanding!
Loved Bishop GE Patterson ministry but disagree with that message he preached about pants. His wife worn them. He was preaching his opinion that sermon. Get a real pentecostal experience, and you will NOT want to dress, act, talk, or walk according to your desires or the world. The old church experienced the changed from within that reflect their outer appearance. Dressing, looking, and acting like the world will not lead you to that higher place in God. The Holy Spirit is grieve and will not go beyond what you allow. This is why we don't see deliverance and healing taking place in our churches today. 😢

I had a girlfriend in our teens who used to change her clothes just like this whenever we went out, and she'd change back into her church attire before we got back to her house. The things we do to go around the standards that God established are ridiculous.

When my friend was pulling up to my house to drop me off, and I realized it, I ran back downstairs to get in the car with my friend because I had on a halter top. My dad didn't see me before I jump back in the car and told my friend to pull off. My dad was yelling from the top of the balcony telling me to not come back!🤣 I still left. If they saw me, I was up to creek. I had to call one of my friends in the neighborhood and ask him to ask his sister if I could borrow a t-shirt. I had them put it out in the mailbox. 🤣🤣 I was more prepared to get in trouble for pulling out of the driveway before being seen with a halter top on. That was equivalent to getting pregnant.🙄 In all seriousness, that was an absolute horrible way to live. Even though I snuck out many nights and change clothes many nights, my teenage years was stolen from me. 😢
I’m so sorry to hear that you think your teenage years were stolen because your parents were trying to raise you in the nurture and admonition of the Lord - clearly there was a missing link since you never realized the beauty of what they were trying to share with you. Yea. They’re called false converts. I’m not Pentecostal, and I don’t necessarily think it has to be the standard Pentecostal skirt. But scripture plainly teaches you should dress modestly. This video, and so many people in the comments, with the standard “you should never feel pressured at all” takes clearly don’t know scripture. You should feel pressured. Not only by those who are commanded to raise you in the admonition of the Lord, but also the conviction of the Holy Spirit who dwells in you. That conviction isnt there for so many people who call themselves Christians. If the pressure/conviction of sin isnt in you, the Holy Spirit probably isn’t there either.

This was how she was raised. Nothing wrong with it. There are parents who believe in modesty and aren't part of the church. That's the rules in her home. Not all Pentecostals young ladies do this. Strict parents mean well. They want to protect their daughters. They don't want people to think badly of you. But they should help you understand through your faith why it's important to be modest.
Well meaning parents who love their children are trying to keep them innocent until they are older. Life is hard and there’s so many things that happen to kids these days at the wrong place and wrong time. Thank your parents for trying to keep you safe and filled with faith. One day you’ll learn the way the world is and the people in it that aren’t so good, you’ll wish you could just go back to simpler times.

I am in a UPCI church and we believe that modesty and holiness comes from a relationship with God. We don’t judge people and we would definitely never make someone leave or feel uncomfortable while they were at church.

I grew up in the Apolstolic Pent Faith. I wore pants, earings (small) at 16 and wore a lottle makeup at 17. All of this doesnt mean Pentecostal Faith, some people forget that dressing modest is in many churches.
My wife is Pentecostal and I am Catholic. Our get together with families can be very interesting and challenging at times! What’s most important! Is believing in our lord and our savior who sacrificed himself for our sins 🙏
Not at all I love all my Pentecostals brothers and sisters and whole heartily believe in being filled with the Holy Ghost and baptism in His wonderful name. But I stand here in truth and say that The legalistic mindset is wrong and does not save your soul. I have studied His word about this intensely. I walked away over 10 years ago, and it does not make me a sinner. I walked away after being in the UPCI 36 years. Contrary to what everyone tells you. It is not the easy path. Because you are shunned by your loved ones and even after those roads are mended you just don't quite fit into their way of thinking...... on the flip side their are very few none legalistic one God churches... so you're scrambling to find a place to call home. You don't quite fit into other churches either...... but none the less I stand where I must stand on His word..... the whole truth of it. ❤❤❤ but I digress- their are those who walk away because they want to taste the things not of God. The majority who do leave, do so because of that. Be sure you know your King. If God wanted your face to look different he would have made it that way, if he wanted your lips to be ruby red he would have made them that color. I grew up in a holiness church and used to hide from my parents when I knew I was wrong. Then one day and realized how much I needed Jesus and repented. Now I don't have to hide. Anytime my mind begins to offer excuses (lies) and worldly solutions (sins) to everyday challenges (trials), I rebuke those thoughts and remember the eternal Word of inspired by God. Suitable for doctrine, reproof and edification. He makes my paths straight, keeps my in right relationship and brings my joy, Amen and Amen
The Biblical ban on jewelry is misunderstood by many stricter churches (ex: 7th Day Adventists). It really applies to women not being attractive in the temple, where it would distract the men from their worship.
I grew up in a Pentecostal home and never had to do any of this. I’m still a Pentecostal and never have to do this. I don’t know which Pentecostal church she is attending. The focus is on your relationship with God not your dressing.
Wow! For there to be so many Pentecostals in this thread, the comments are very judgemental. Being young and having to look different can be a challenge. I understand this struggle. I went through this as a teen. When you grow up, you realize sometimes more time was spent on looking the part versus living the part. I applaud the honesty and comedy represented in this video
Many Christians on this thread are not Pentecostal, yet have similar standards of modesty. Once a young person trusts God and his word, the Holy Spirit helps the mind understand the reasons for standards of modesty.
My pentecostal pastors oldest daughter got married to a pentecostal preacher but she wanted to be in world so much that she got divorced and has done all kind of worldly sinful things like alcohol, drugs, adultery, cussing, tattoos, worldly music, no telling what else. She use to sing praises to God. I pray she finds God because those worldly things won’t make you happy.
Why does the Bible say not to add to or take away from but was re written by King James in the 1600’s and he had other holy books burned that he didn’t agree with such as the Geneva Bible because he believed it created more questions than answers. The true Bible will make you question all things
How well did you know her? She may have been subjugated by her husband until the point where she had no choice. My good friend is a UPCI preacher in Kansas and his wife recently left him. She studied the Bible and determine that she doesn’t agree with the UPCI teachings on many subjects. She now enjoys “worldly” things such a drink every once in a while, modest, yet attractive clothing and can now use makeup. She said this is the first time in her entire life she feels free and comfortable. She did not leave God. God had a different plan for her that didn’t involve the UPC or her husband. I stayed neutral during this time and prayed for God’s will. He delivered. As He always does.
This makes me so sad.. I pray for her, her parents loved her and tried to raise her in truth, but we must get it for ourselves…a relationship with God. Rules without relationship breeds rebellion🙏
Someone once told me they were kicked out of their church for wearing earrings if I remember correctly. Some of these congregations are so controlling, strict, and judgmental that you simply would rather conform around them than be ostracized or isolated. Then you have the opposite end where people look and act like they are at the club and exhibit no shame or modesty. It can be really difficult to navigate especially for young people and people who are just entering a religion.
One problem in being raised in a strict denomination is that sometimes it can seem to the child (even those who are willing to be humble & honest with God-- which does not seem to be the case here, but just trying to find a way around obeying her parents) that Christianity is based not on a relationship with God, but just following the rules set forth by a religion, which is man's way of working their way to God by keeping a set of rules that must be kept in order to be right with Him. But the Bible says we are not saved by works, "For it is by [God's] grace that we have been saved, not by works, so that no one can boast" (Eph. 2:8-9). However, the sign of true faith in God is fruit, and it says, "You will know a tree by its fruit." It's sad that the only fruit this young woman is bearing is disobeying her parents and being deceptive. I know that her parents are involved in a denomination that is among the strictest, but the Bible (God) clearly states that children should be obedient to their parents (the 5th Commandment, found in many places in God's Word: www.openbible.info/topics/children_obeying_their_parents I was raised in a strict household, and although it was not because of going to church or practicing religion (for I went to church by myself much of the time, if my siblings weren't able to go after they got jobs or moved out), but I did get really involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes where I heard the Gospel for the first time and understood that God wanted to be my Father but I needed to confess my sin nature before Him and ask for forgiveness of my sins, which Jesus took on and paid the penalty for it on the cross & defeated it by resurrecting from the dead. They told me that I should read at least one chapter from the Bible per day, which I did, stating with the first book in the Bible (b/c no one told me where to started in the New Testament, but I'm glad because by reading the I'll Testament first, I understood God's holiness in a different way I would have if I started elsewhere. I didn't understand a lot of it, but it was important to me to read it so that I could learn more about God because I didn't have any other resources besides Christian radio (& the catecism of a conservative branch of the Luthuran Church). I was like a person dying of hunger or thirst, so I feasted on the Bread of Life and clung to the words of Psalm 42:1, where King David stated, "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul longs after You, O Lord." There were times that I was forbidden to go to church, or threatened with not being able to if I got in my guardian (adopted parent's) bad side or if she got in a bad mood. So my perspective is different that this person who is forced to go. I'm glad for my circumstances because I appreciate the privilege of going to church, even though it wasn't the kind of church I may have chosen. If I had the opportunity to mentor this young woman, I would tell her it is unwise to disobey parents (unless the parents are being abusive). I began a personal relationship with God when I was 13 (34 years ago!!! 😮), and my parent was adament about me not getting my ears peirced, wearing makeup, getting my hair cut, and even wearing a bra until I was old enough in her eyes-- which was much older than my friends, and I was teased a lot for being different, but some of those very same friends have confessed that they were just jealous of my "long beautiful hair" back then. And as far as make-up goes, I like really young now as a result of not using a bunch of chemicals all the time (some of which have been linked with cancer). If I were to be mentoring this young woman, I would listen to her, tell her I can relate to how she feels and to any teasing/ bullying she may have gone through, and then I'd suggest that she search her heart to see if there is any sense of rebellion or deception in her heart. While I feel sad for her, I also fear that she will continue to go down the road of bucking against her parents' (God's, simply b/c they are her parents') rules and that this will lead to either ignoring other authority figures' rules (if it hasn't already), particularly if she's doing it to get acceptance from her peers. I would say that I know it's hard right now, but after high school-- and especially after college, where there is a whole lot less peer pressure-- unless she is in a sorority, which I totally avoided for that reason, because God had convinced me that my standing with people is only temporary, but my standing with Him was eternal & because that has eternal consequences, I sought to "please God rather than [people]" (100 verses about this: www.openbible.info/topics/pleasing_god_rather_than_people), especially when I discovered Colossians 3:23: "Whatever you do, work at it heartily as for the Lord and not for [people]."
I was raised and still am Pentecostal and I know that we do not force people to dress like us if they are new she probably is just being a rebellious teenager

I carried my Bible to school and open the word of God up and taught the word in high school. If there had been some water I would have started baptizing my class mates. And after all those years 2 of my class mates are still serving God.
As a woman who used to dress up a lot and put make up on and thight clothes, I can say that will give you sinful mindset and thoughts. When I started to dress modestly I could feel the relief of having the need to get compliments and being so effected by peoples opinion.
I grew up pentecostal, 5 generations, and studied every other church and religion and am very happy to be very old fashioned pentecostal christian. After the internet made it possible to see Christians from other parts of the world, it was terribly shocking to see half naked woman calling themselves christian...and now gradually I have got used to it. But I know deep love for Christ will gradually add dignity to men and women and never cause the loss of it to be overlooked.

I learn from people who study the Bible with a great love for the truth of God. I listen to Tozer, Chuck Missler, Joshua Selman... Praise God, I don't have any party/ denomination spirit. I can love any Christian and worship together with anyone who loves God truly. I know praying in tongues has brought a deep spiritual understanding of truth. But I never approve of people who are simply noicy and fake.
This happens when you preach more on the external, than the internal. The true kingdom of God is not external, is living in the justice of God, In the Shalom he only offers and Joy from knowing the true of God. I never thanked my parents for preventing me from being able to fit in with literally any other person in my school and community. I love God with every ounce of my being but absolutely hated feeling so isolated amongst people my age 😢 Today, as an adult, I thrive in modesty. As a child, I just wanted to fit in a little…just a little.

@@lasanyarahim1998 I am a retired UPCI evangelist and former Pastor. I can assure you that I do have God’s grace and mercy. I was delivered and received the Holy Spirit when I was 11. I left the UPCI due to racism, malfeasance, and pressure from UPCI.
When I was a kid, (early 70's) the pastor of our farockaway,queens,ny's teenage kids would be in the basement of the church, during service, doing everything you weren't supposed to be doing as a Christian. I was ashamed of them and at the same time, hoped they wouldn't get caught. I'm no longer pentecostal and know you can't hide anything from your creator. Moral of the story: You're not fooling anyone but yourself. ✌️

Your works don't save you, and yes your works of righteousness are likened to filthy rags, but faith without works is dead. If someone in going through life acting like he was never saved, then he doesn't have saving faith and that's truth.
This used to be me and my sister when we were not saved Blind walking in darkness thinking this was joy freedom of doing whatever we wanted But I didn't realize how close to death I was ...i was going to places I shouldn't have doing drugs... But by the mercy of God and prayers he saved me on April 19 2005 will never forget it. And now I live for God out of gratitude and I'll do whatever he ask of me ...even dressing in skirts no problem he does care about how we dress and make up he showed me in the Bible when he was changing my heart I left that now thats the least I can do after all he's done
Ha i grew up in a Pentecostal church and my youth pastor told everyone boys and girls that they can wear whatever we wanted and that god doesn't really care about the clothing you wear and honestly when you have the holy Spirit as a guide in your life the skimpy clothing most girls wear is no longer appealing and in my church you could easily tell which girls had a true relationship with the holy Spirit and those who didn't just by what they chose to wear to youth group there was still those girls that would show up in a crop top and booty shorts and they gotta treated just like everyone else. Isaiah 1:18 God invites people to come to him, even if their sins are as scarlet, and he will make them white as snow. Revelation 22:17 The Bible says that people should leave behind their past lives, and that their former friends may think them strange for doing so. However, God receives people just as they are, and then begins to change them as they submit to him in obedience.
One of the ways we show ourselves to be separate from the world. It's like when you get married, you stop hanging out with people of the opposite sex because you love your spouse. Once you actually build a personal relationship with God, it becomes easy to give up secular things because you desire to please Him, and nothing else really matters.
Well, u can still be friends with people of the opposite sex... when ur married, its just u & that person shouldn't be alone... it also falls into the catagory of trust & communication. I actually agree with you tho, everytime u fall short you feel upset, u do something God never wouldve wanted u to do... & when u realize ur mistake that can draw you closer to God. However; I believe in modesty yes... I wouldn't want to wear a crop top to church bcs It'd be quite disrespectful but part of me knows God doesn't look at what u wear, ur flesh, ur jewelry, no... he looks at the heart. Even good deeds, & things that are deemed to be righteous, doesn't mean ull get to heaven, or ull immediately be saved. Everyone thinks we have to live up to the expectations of being perfect, being Gods original image, but if just turn around, & draw near to him we can be saved through his son. Say; A sheppard looses one out of 100 sheep. So the sheppard should set out to find it. Right?? My point; Jesus would walk away, from 99 righteous people... just to help heal the one that was led astray. You should have enough faith in Christ, to want to do BETTER. Even if ur tempted again, even if u fail. Our good deeds, do not always justify who we are. I hope you have a great rest of ur day!! Speak for yourself. Say YOU stopped hanging out with the opposite sex if that's what YOU did. And then don't be surprised if that sounds less like an act of love and more like a symptom of insecurity and jealousy.
@mariaquiet6211 Yes, I mean ME, just generally speaking. Nah, I'm secure bc my spouse and I dont put ourselves in a situation where we are alone with "a friend" of the opposite sex. I've personally seen this with multiple marriages ending in divorce bc of adultery. You end up emotionally available to "your friend," and a guy will take advantage. I don't mean to trigger anyone. You do you, but be careful.
@@katyluvv.__ God is 100% concerned with what you wear because what you wear reflects what's in your heart. If a woman comes to church with a mini skirt on,.then it reveals her heart. She is a seductress. On the other hand, just because she doesn't dress immodestly doesn't mean she is right with God.

We are the light of this world! God says we are a peculiar people! That means we talk, dress, act, live differently from the world. I received the Holy Ghost at 7 years old & got Baptized in Jesus Name! 🙌🏾 Now I'm 52 years old & I'm still Save Praise God! I've had siblings, family members, ect... to leave the Lord but I thank God I had a mine to serve him no matter what! My Husband & I have been married for 29 years & we raised our children in Holiness. Now our 2 oldest children are married w/children and our 17 year old is still Save and serving the Lord! As a Oneness Pentecostal Apostolic, I do not fashion myself after the world. The church has its *own dress, its own sound* and *its own speech.* We are peculiar. What the world offers is junk and of no value. I’m not trading what my Father has given me for that. 🇨🇦

Oneness teaching and belief won't allow maturity in the spirit. Trinity is God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus the son was not talking to himself when he prayed or while he was dying on the cross. Full maturity in Christ enable one to preach the "Full Gospel of Jesus Christ" Full Gospel is beyond denominational teachings. There is "no" boasting when one fully understands the Gospel.

I went to a Pentecostal church (The Christian Centre, Nottingham UK) as a teenager. A whole generation of youth was spiritually abused like this, in the most unloving, aggressive, misogynistic, homophobic and unbiblical manner! The abusers will face the wrath of God for sure!
