Thank you, thank you. I have never known how to harvest lettuce. I usually just pull it out, but then I don't get a re-growth. I also would only harvest enough for one meal at a time. Your way is soooo much better. Unfortunately, it's too hot to plant lettuce now, but I'll remember this for this fall. Your gardens look fabulous, and the way you take care of weeds is great. I am also in Illinois. Your videos are so helpful! I love the chive tip to treat powdery mildew. I will definitely try that. I use the same method for cleaning and storing lettuce. I line the bag with a paper towel. It will absorb any additional mousture.
