I am of Italian descent. Grandparents from Italy, My mother used to make a dish that I would like to have every day. You use the male Zucchini flowers so you do not lose the fruit. recipe 1 egg, 1/2 C milk, and 1/4 t baking powder then mix in enough flour that will coat the flower without running off. Fry flowers in about 1/2 " of canola oil until golden brown Drain on a paper towel and add salt and Parmazon cheese if desired. Then sit and enjoy your meal. P.J. Malchiodi San Diego Ca.

In my area, Missouri, we fight squash bugs, vine borers, and Japenese beetles as well as powdery mildew when growing squash and zucchini. The home depot buckets were not big enough for my zucchini. I may try another variety next year.
I have an Italian Grey Zucchini Summer Squash planted in a 20" Home Depot plastic pot that cost under $20.00 to purchase. Doing fine and producing zucchinis like you may see if out in the ground. Same with a Crook-necked Summer Squash that also is in a similar 20" plastic pot. These are both producing a lot of fruit.
