The Parasite from Growth is one whos made by a bunch of Scientists who you would likely consider hacks. Now, sure, science IS mostly based on throwing stuff against the wall and seeing what sticks, but a little bit of caution may have been the move for this one. On a small island near Maine, a parasite would be sued to enhance humans to the point of almost making them superhuman. However this would have consequences on their mental stability as well as you know, parasites being parasites and eating them. In todays episode we will discuss how the parasite spreads, what it does to the body and utlimately why this was a really dumb idea!
Thank you for watching Roanoke Gaming and I hope you enjoy The Enhanced Human Parasite from Growth Explored | How the Helminth Enters and Changes the Body

To solve the whole dying problem, they could genetically manipulate the parasite to permanently stay in the larval state like an axolotl
@jordanwinter8954
@jordanwinter8954 2 года назад
only 2 problems i can see with that would be that 1 technically axolotls are not in a larval form or younger form they are just a species that stays like that since they are still able to breed and are considered there own species not a mutation of another salamander, though that might have changed axolotls have got a few changes to what they are considered over the years, and 2 if the parasites were to stay in the larval stage then they would never be able to breed or multiply so eventually they would die out in the body, so you would need continuous doses of the parasites to keep the affects.

It does make some sense in terms of pearls if those were not eggs but actual parasites encased in pearl. Parasite gets irritated by salt. Oyster gets irritated by parasite. Parasite hypercharges metabolism of oyster to get encased faster because its making it comfortable. Scientist notice effect and gets a "smart" idea to try it on human subject.

Well while I got to the video early, I would recommend checking out The Empty Man or Edge of Nowhere. The latter being an awesome cosmic horror game that seems to have a more scientific approach to the concept that could be fun to explain. The Empty Man you could formulate ideas from based on context clues scattered in the film that would probably be a combo of supernatural and biological. It is also a cosmic horror film which is a genre that has rad monsters and abilities that appear supernatural or could be some form of disease.

@jessicawilson1751
@jessicawilson1751 2 года назад
My issue/question I have is why does salt/salt water kill the parasite yet humans aren't necessarily "fresh" water? The average ocean salinity is 35 ppt, how does the human body's salinity (if you will) compare to the ocean? Doing a Google search, the human body is about 0.4% salt, so that's about 4 ppt? Ocean water would kill a smaller organism adapted to fresh or brackish water. Answered my own question but now I learned something new. I'm a biological oceanographer (most of my lab's research is in the San Francisco Bay, which is an estuary) so the ending irked me and I had to look that up. I still have issues with a parasite not liking salt/salt water when most of its life cycle is involved with saline environments.

Never heard of this movie, but whenever someone says "Next stage/phase/step of human evolution", my expectations go all the way down. Organisms don't have established "stages of evolution". What he have are gradual adaptations to our environment. If someone has a mutation that makes them, say, better at filing taxes, then you could say that they are "better adapted", but they are not the "next step" of anything other than crippling depression and alcoholism. But, if creepy crawlies getting under your skin is the deal, I'd heartily suggest "They Nest" for all your roachy, parasitic needs!

you do realise thats the whole concept of these movies/shows/games freaking you out? thats like saying your expectations go down whenever someone says "fictional" cause its not reality
@AnomalyINC
@AnomalyINC 2 года назад
@@k5prr I realise that they are fictional, that is not the issue. The issue is that they are so often written by people with very poor understanding of what they are writing about. My suspension of disbelief is not willing to accommodate just anything fictional, especially not horror. It needs to be close enough to reality to allow the audience to forget, if only for a moment, that it isn't real. That's when it becomes frightening. How am I supposed to take something seriously if the story itself is unable to get its own basic premise to align with what we understand of biology? If it offered an explanation in the form of some pseudo-scientific mumbo-jumbo to justify it, then I could let it pass. But treating "evolutionary levels" as a perfectly reasonable scientific fact without any justification just shows that the writers didn't know any better. If they can't be bothered to do basic research into their own premise, then I do not have high hopes for the finished product. Horror is not an easy genre to get right, especially if you do not apply yourself. Sorry for the essay, I am high on Lipton tea.

other senses do it too. it is just more common with sight since it our main big juicy sense that our brain is more hardwired to pay attention to. mine is triggered by hearing as well as touch since im half blind and have been turning to touch (i have hearing tone loss as well) to compensate. so i can sense bigger size objects, temperature changes if passing near shade. if noises are too deep for me to hear well i sense touch for them as well while i walk down the sidewalk making sure where i step is ok. (i lost most my sound distinction in the lower tone range with just a light loss for other tones) dog barking is interesting since it disorients me coming from bigger dogs. while it makes me irritated if its a high pitched one. think standing next to a speaker versus standing next to a ruler tapping on a chalkboard randomly. plus i can subconsciously hear and feel cars coming even from good distance.

One of them, the one that goes into his foot, has a large flat body that is ejected when the starts to burrow into the heel, turning into a multi limbed, squid like creature. Then another looks like an earthworm with a centipede or pincer bug tail. Then other's look like tape worms, and others look almost like giant arthropod worm thing. Many of those parasites are normally the smaller ones, the ones that literally can’t kill you. At most they feed off of small amounts of food (in other words, crap) that goes through your gut. And while the parasites aren’t good, they aren’t bad either, as long as it’s not porkworm or something on the same scale it’s not too bad. Although, still not good to have them, be sure to get rid of them (if you have them) if you notice a sudden drop in weight. However always consult your physician about it.

One thing that bugs me about all these parasite movies is the constant theme of 'it can bite through your skin and crawl under in a second or less and crawl all through your body like it's sand'. Do you have any idea how hard that actually is? Like, how dense your muscle tissue is, how strong your skin is, etc? The odds of something that small having the bite force to open a body-sized hole in your skin alone would put it on the extreme end. being able to then crawl under the skin and disappear among tissues would not only be incredibly painful, it would also require a MASSIVE amount of dislocation of tissues, much of which would be muscles against other muscles, meaning just flexing your muscles could easily squish the critter in a lot of places.
@Everlucky_Clover
@Everlucky_Clover 2 года назад
then there is the problem of it rapidly crawling at surface tensions at mach 1 (bug speed) like your skin is just a rubber glove gently placed over your meat suit. there would be so much skin bruising you would be beet red from the pooling blood under your skin between it and your muscles. and they love those fast moving scenes of it on the edges of your ribs and on abs.......... that is called too much skin/blood vessel damage to live longer than a a couple hours let alone a few days like justin did. and a few weeks like uncle nasty did.

@@Everlucky_Clover Heck, given how they seem to randomly dive into the body or pop up from it, I assume internal organs are getting turned to swiss cheese on a regular basis. Like, why wouldn't they do that with lungs, or the heart, or intestines, or the kidneys?

I mean, Halo does it well, and it has movies. In Halo, the flood infection forms are 3 feet tall, have scalpel sharp tendrils, yet move around the same ways some bugs and octopuses do. It literally tears you open, doesn't snake under your skin so much as it rips it up, to get to your spine... etc. You can see how the body is really messed up by it. Even if it's a bit questionable that it can so quickly take control of your arms, get rid of the muscle limiter, and break your neck(using those arms it just stole), in about 6 seconds. It does make a lot more sense. I guess there just isn't an actual movie about the flood. Though, motion comics, anime, and video game cutscenes, do come close... wait, sometimes cutscenes are called movies, so therefore they do count! Aha! Flood movies confirmed!!!
