In the small town of Multon, people begin acting fairly strangely out of nowhere. As two friends begin a webshow on vidtube, they begin capturing footage of the towns people and then in contrast, how differently they act later. Upon coming into contact with them, they quickly realize that the towns people are far from normal, and that something is wrong. Unbeknownst to them, a parasite had wormed its way into the community and had begun taking bodies. In todays episode we will talk about how this is done, and what was the ultimate fate of Humanity!

But yes, the brain has definitely hardwired how the rest of the body needs to function as it is the point that has our primal instincts ingrained into us. Like it’s one thing to say the heart is the most important organ for prolonged life, but if you lose your heart you legit have like a minute of experiencing what it’s like to not have a heart with the brain slowly suffocating. Technically the most important organ in the body is the central part of the brain that subconsciously runs the rest of the body

Drug companies basically lied to doctors, telling them that their drugs weren't addictive so that the doctors would prescribe them and make the drug companies more money. My dad had a neck injury (after an X Ray they called him while at work just to warn him not to look up until he could be fast tracked to surgery). He's had to take cocodamol since then, however he's not to take it for any longer than three days in a row to to avoid addiction and withdrawal. He's frequently in pain (even went to a chiropractor), but it's better than addiction. He does smoke though.

Yet another apocalypse movie where I can't help questioning, "How did humanity lose to these things?" Yes look at how the media can lie to ppl and get away with it. I bet this is much easier because ppl will dismiss it with conspiracy theories and we would fall to it. be surprised how stupid ppl are. A Ghost can throw a couch and some moron would dismiss it with wind which does not make sense that wind would specifically aim at one couch. This is how ppl are and I bet they could do much worse to us judging how politics and listening to some ppl thinking on the most simplest of things.

@@1bossofbosses Not to be rude, but your entire argument misses the point lol. Because it doesn’t matter what the media does in the grand scheme of this. It doesn’t matter if you believe in body snatchers or not, someone running at you with very obviously hostile intent will trigger the fight or flight response. Seeing your own face would be a shock, but there’s a good change you fight or flee before you notice that. If you are thinking military, it gets worse for the body snatchers because they have to do this while there are dozens of armed soldiers all around them.

A question that quickly came to my mind is how did these kids who are super hyped to finally get the magic of the internet never check and see all the news reports about the infection spreading across the world and know they need to nope out of there? As for your question I guess it depends on how intelligent we believe these creatures to be. If they're an interstellar species that grows in form and intelligence as more are put together the fully formed interstellar breed may have purposefully targeted military institutions before releasing it into civilian areas. I mean they admit that this town being out of the way and largely disconnected was one of the last places to be hit, that suggests some level of being able to strategize important targets versus ones they can claim once their numbers (like those surrounding the town) are high enough. To be fair though watching the movie the news clip they watch at the end makes it clear the invasion/infection is ongoing and hasn't claimed everyone as there are riots/shooting in the streets and newscasters holing up in secrecy. Plus the comments they get on the videos (though admittedly these could be the body snatchers trying to find their location).

My personal theory is that with large and complex organisms like humans, the regeneration of the lost limb would be too energy expensive to make sense from a reproductive standpoint since any serious injury would incapacitate the organism and make it hard for them to acquire food. This would weaken the survivability of the entire kin group without any real added benefit. (same reason why with many social animals the weak, sick and old ones seem to be positioned in areas that are the most prone to attack.) That and I imagine infection is going to be a bitch so you're not very likely to survive an injury like that anyway. Basically nature hasn't caught up to the idea of modern medicine yet.

@omegaentertainment01 2 года назад
So...humans might, _maybe,_ develop the ability to regenerate? I fuckin' wish, man.
@Salted_Fysh
@Salted_Fysh 2 года назад
@@omegaentertainment01 well, if we rely on natural evolution it would take hundreds of thousands if not millions of years. And it may not happen at all - afterall, there isn't any real evolutionary pressure in the direction of regaining the ability. The amount of lost limbs isn't that great looking at the population at large and even then, with technology, societal progress and modern medicine amputees can still function somewhat normally depending on the severity of the injury. No, I believe the only way it's going to happen is by direct human intervention. There is research being done on how to reactivate this ability using gene editing and then there are other avenues of research like stem cells. It's also conceivable that we might just figure out how to grow and attach a fully functional replacement limb in a lab. Then there's also the increasing hybridization of biology and technology to consider. Prostheses are continuing to advance in functionality and in some areas are already able to outperform natural limbs. Humanity is moving towards a certain degree of Cyborg anyway. Some would argue that we already are given that we have an external data storage and processing device in our pockets at all times. Anyway, if we manage to make it through this century without being stupid enough to start WW3 and the nuclear apocalypse, there are a lot of exciting things to come. And also the severe repercussions it is going to have on society. Let's see if we manage to be smart and go the route of collective benefit or if we maintain the current course and continually deepen the divide between the rich and the rest of the world until we are essentially two separate species brought forth by medicine and technology.

One of my favorite hypothesis about the uncanny valley is simply that it was caused by relationships between other hominid species. Anthropological and biological evidence supports the idea that humans actually coexisted for a time with other cousin species like Neanderthals and even mated with them, to a certain degree. I believe the uncanny valley is a neurological response that tells us to stay away in order to preserve our species and genetic lineage and protect ourselves from creatures that are quite literally almost human, but aren't.

When you talk about regeneration it always reminds me of when I nearly ended myself from ignoring appendicitis and the following ruptured appendix too long. Long story, nasty surgery, entire stomach cut open, innards became outards for a bit, put back together, long multiple infections including septicaemia, nasty business. But it took so much out of me that I left hospital with almost 25% of my previous body mass gone, not just fat but muscle aswell. The healing from the traumatic surgery and infection took so long to "pay back" in that it was almost 6 months before I was back to my old fairly athletic self (at the time anyway) even with a Dr advised weight gain diet plus junk food binges. Make me think its not just genetic but the actual metabolic cost of our bodies work required to repair even relatively minor damage vs something as large as a leg.

Fun fact, not taking pain killers can also lead to an abnormally high pain tolerance. I'm legitimately in a situation where just dealing with pain long enough lead me to miss most of the pain part of a spinal disease and instead we caught it once it started effecting nerve functions (leading to functionality problems in certain organs, among other issues). It was a choice I made after seeing my parents go through problems with drugs like opioids given to them for their own medical conditions, and while I don't regret it, do try to find a balance between relief and toughing it out as not having enough pain can be a huge problem in and of itself.

The tailend of the science portion gave me a flashback. I used to work in work boot sales with a guy who suffered frequent Grand Mal seizures as a result of severe alcalcoholism. Watching him hit the deck (and often taking down nearby displays on his descent) in front of customers on numerous occasions was frankly traumatizing. He would always sit up afterwards, usually bloodied, bruised, or both, and murmur, "I love you guys, you're such wonderful people. Why are you all standing around me?" To whoever was around. Only once did he get violent with us as we tried to keep him in a recovery position while waiting for the paramedics. It hit him while he was on a ladder, maybe four feet up, but we were worried he may have suffered a neck injury from the fall.(He was always on ladder restriction for this very reason, a rule he routinely broke.) He became exceedingly frustrated, insisting he did not just have another seizure and that we were lying to him as a prank. Either way, he didn't find it amusing, and my colleague Joe caught an elbow that he admits took a little bit of his manhood lol. @@attackmaster519 that is true to some extent. the key here is "when". as roanoke explained before, ideally you want to contract dangerous but common diseases as a kid because your body is still developing and adapting. many children who grow up in landfills and garbage treatment places develop a pretty strong immune system compared to average children. adults have a harder time with this and thus we are way more susceptible to violent reactions triggered by our immune system, and as i mentioned it before, it is of no help a lot of people can't even take precautions to avoid as much as possible an unnecessary response to viral infection.
@attackmaster519
@attackmaster519 2 года назад
@@D0NU75 That makes little biological sense. If human immune systems were shit as adults, and couldn't be strengthened, then our species would have died out long ago. Humans lived in worse conditions than now for most of human history, and humans still were capable of living long, fulfilling lives.

@D0NU75 2 года назад
@@attackmaster519 it seems to me you skipped your basic biology class, you can take or leave my explanation, you can also access information about this on the internet, at the end of the day your immune system will behave according to known studies and cell behavior and there is no changing that.

I completely commend your approach to it and wholeheartedly agree.

My best friend also got in a car accident and shattered his pelvis and also one of his legs, had to get steel bars placed inside of him because of it. Then he got badly educated to opiates and it was genuinely scary watching the descent of one of the strongest people I’ve ever known into crippling addiction. Eventually the doctors would continue lowering his dosages and he would have to supplement them with heroin. Eventually, he just fully transitioned to heroin since it was cheaper than the medication and more available. Luckily, he kept narcan inhalers with him and had to use them more than once when realizing he had ingested fentanyl and was overdosing. Through sheer force of will he somehow overcame the addiction and is in a much better place now, but watching that happen right in front of me and his descent in real time was terrifying. It can really happen to anyone.

I see possibilities. In a sequel we could get resistance groups that include these parasites because some of the copies would likely create a stronger individuality due to the human brain and be "freed" from the collective mindset and perhaps be sympathetic to humanity but on the other hand we could get "evil" variants who enjoys their new found individuality but wants to overtake the hive-mind.

I'm kinda surprised your thing on the destructive upload the Body Snatchers perform didn't seem to notice the role of the First Stage (small bugs) in doing it. To me, it looked like they were sending a swarm of the first stage of their life cycle into the human (along with some contact-based electrical or even magnetic component to immobilize them and maybe scan some of the current patterns of neurons firing) to tear into their body, take apart the brain cell by cell, and send that information back to the Final Stage through whatever means they use to seemingly-telepathically coordinate. A traditional Nanomachine-based Destructive Upload, in other words. Zack survived because the bugs didn't enter his mouth, his mom didn't because they already had.

Hey so there's a big difference between being addicted to painkillers and taking them responsibly everyday for chronic pain. I broke my back in two places herniated a few discs that still haven't been repaired, my broken back was though. And I work 12 hours a day as a machinist. If I did not take painkillers I would not be able to function. There are quite a few people that take pain medication and just like high blood pressure medication and some steroids and some muscle relaxers that people take they make you physically dependent. However physical dependence and addiction are far far different. And it's also up to the doctor to not do what they were doing when oxycontin was being sold like candy and try to see if they can prescribe as much as possible so they can get kickbacks from the pharmaceutical company. But maybe do some more research before you just go spouting out about how bad painkillers are when you probably have never had to take any and you probably have never been grievously injured nor do you physically work everyday. That little comment about opioids was almost enough to make me unsubscribe from your channel I'm not sure yet though. Just need to think about what you're saying and who you're talking to before you just say things.
