Not that impresive, he's good at RTS and he has already played 200h+, the averedge person is in crusader, it's not at all impresive that he's better than the averedge . I'd be disappointed if he was honestly, I was quite surprised he calibrated initially so low.

@UlfMTG
@UlfMTG Год назад
its just not something you usually have to worry about playing dota, you kind of get used to controlling a single hero, especially as a new player when you have so many things to worry about
@KiiroSagi
@KiiroSagi Год назад
You have to remember he'd been learning several different heroes. He said it before that his map awareness also suffered when he switched to a new hero.
@lori977
@lori977 Год назад
The problem is that he has no idea how threatening things are and what enemy spells do, even when he does he has to stop and think to remember. Also he has to pay attention to basic things when controlling his main hero. Once he gets trough those things his micro is going to shine.
@osterbuuny3083
@osterbuuny3083 Год назад
And then not even notice, that's the best part.
@oguzcanoguz5977
@oguzcanoguz5977 Год назад
I mean, he literally did entire jungle with one bird on 10% hp and did not lose it because of his micro. He mostly lost them to towers, because his mind did not register towers as very dangerous. That is just game knowledge and internalization lacking, nothing to do with poor micro. This was a spectacular first visage game, visage has one of the steepest learning curves in dota. The weird part is that , grubby usually has good first games with very complex or hard to learn heroes, whereas he sometimes is just very bad with simple heroes. Like he did a 8 spell combo on his first invoker game but could not hit a combo with Kunnka.

He's not used to talking, he never talks or coaches, hrs a pure mechanical player that stays away from social interactions. Extremely high skilled but inept at understanding how to teach.
@Khayul
@Khayul Год назад
I'm a very new player with sub 60 Games, and while I obviously wasn't playing while he was coaching, I feel like this is the coaching that helps a lot more. A lot of chat and some coaches teach like all of the concepts are completely new, and many of the "tricks" are basics to many MOBAs and RTS, for example the TA Attack-move trick to hit fast moving heroes. I like it when people who are trying to teach something completely Info-dump with all of the relevant context like Xcalibur did. You're obvioulsy not going to be able to practice it all at once, but while playing you've at least heard some tricks and might be able to use them. And it's not like Grubby is new to MOBAs or controlling multiple heroes, he just doesn't have the "automatic knowledge" many even herald players with 3k games have. For example I have no Idea what is a counter to what, since many of the heroes I've seen only once, if even that, which also means I often die due to not knowing how much burst an enemy can realistically put on to me, but that doesn't mean I have no Idea how to push, nor does it mean that I don't understand how cutting is useful. I have a few friends who also have played like 3k+ DOTA Games, and while they can often tell me what a hero does, they have little understanding of special tricks, or even "Game winning mechanics" - which I feel like XCalibur taught relatively well.

@@Khayul Watching 'intermediate' guides used to be how I learned years ago, sometimes it's better to try and pick up habits from far better players through their actions rather than directions. Don't need to be told to farm, but you do need to be exposed to the decision making cause that's the important bit. I agree with the info dump, but in this case I think there's a lack of replaying that you normally would get to make such an immediate flood useful. If Grubby was replaying each hero 2 or 3 times, this type of teaching would be better I reckon. Guess it's sort of the issue where he really needs the Slacks style "FARM, PUSH, GO IN" as well as the more technical advice as a lead in to better mechanics. Just not enough game sense yet
