GRWM: getting pregnant again, finding joy, gardening etc. 

India, I am a 43 year old woman who just also happens to be paralyzed. I was paralyzed in a car accident when I was 4 years old in 1985. I'm not going to bore you with any of my personal medical history or go into my mindset before I got pregnant. I was blessed to be able to have 2 children with my husband at the time when I was 23 and 25. My kids are 20 and 17 years old now. I've been going through personal health issues since 2011 because of being paraplegic. I have always chosen to have a positive attitude. I've refused to let the ugly and negative dictate me. You will always find happiness if you choose to remain positive. Of course, there will be moments in life where you'll be sad and even so angry you could bite an iron nail in half, but don't let those times define your whole way of thinking. I am so proud of you and your journey. I am so thankful that you're sharing your journey with so many others who may need to hear your story to feel heard or seen. 💞

Yes the darker blonde!!! It flatters tan skin when you have sandy brown hair with pops of blonde!! Like surfer girl blonde!!! And we have the same eyes!! I definitely think darker is stunning with baby blue eyes ❤

I NEEDED THIS TODAY. I’m studying for the bar, I don’t know how I will afford the next couple of months, I am waiting to reap the fruits of my hard work and thank you for telling me to enjoy the wait. I will go through these times appreciating this worry and use these times as a learning lesson for the time when I won’t be in financial distress. I am also learning to re-direct the emphasis of my energy and to push through and study for the bar and be able to put aside all the collateral issues I have to deal with. Thank you India 💖😘

Go for the old money blonde! You will look amazing! I agreed 1000% with choosing joy...I had 4 losses and many other hardships and though some days it was impossibly hard, choosing joy, laughing, and focusing on God and His incredible mercy and grace was the only thing that got me through.

After 4 back to back losses last year, losing my mom and my husband grandpa we took 6 months off - I stopped testing every month because mentally I was beyond exhausted and could not handle another negative test. I’m now 13 weeks and the anxiety has subsided significantly. You should try your hair more natural as you mentioned, because when you get pregnant will probably stop bleaching it, so if your start now it the transition will go unnoticeable.

In those close up near the end you can really see your natural colour and it looks amazing on you! So glamorous!!

I know it's hard to see your friends who are pregnant or just had babies but I also know how kind and loving you are and that you chose joy for them because you would never wish the pain you went through on them. Someone once told me “find joy in the wait” which I struggled to understand back then. After trying to conceive for 13 years, my son is about to be 2mo old. He is my miracle baby. And even though the wait was hard, as I look back on my wait, I realize my husband and I did find a lot of joy in our marriage, even if I didn’t realize it in the moment.

Going through my own infertility journey, almost 1 yr now and I feel this so deeply. Thank you for sharing your story and reminding me not to waste the waiting!

Speaking from the other side of the ttc/pregnancy journey after 2 losses. One thing I did to not waste my wait and keep my hopes up while waiting for my rainbow baby was to make 1 baby purchase every month that I got a period instead of a positive pregnancy test. It was a way to celebrate and manifest what was to come in the future, no matter how long the wait would be, turning the negative of a pregnancy test/period into a positive 💕

I really hope gardening starts to catch on because of the mental health benefits, I’m 30 and absolutely love it - my colleagues think it’s strange - which is sad because they don’t know what they’re missing! Tips for planning your garden - smelling the roses when in bloom is magical. You also need herbs so that you still have something that smells amazing when not much is in bloom (but don’t plant mint or thyme in the ground - pots only!!).

After my cp in February and MMC at 8w with d&c at 10w at the end of april I agree to 100000% on the hormonal drop and the roller coaster. It was so so bad. I had suicidal thoughts and as soon as the hormones leveled out they stopped. 8 weeks after the d&c and two therapy sessions later I'm so much better now. And love that you found gardening. Our balcony has never been so full with flowers. We will get through this and India, we are not alone ❤

I’ve tried dating apps and they just don’t work for me. I deleted it today. I’ve just decided there’s really nothing I can do. So I like the not wasting the wait idea. Because I don’t know how long I’ll be waiting and I’ve already waited so long, but for me I would say not wasting the wait means doing things that fill my life and going after those (like backpacking and other outdoors things that I want to try really badly). Haha As for gardening, you're gonna love it! I started last year with a small 15x30 foot bed and by this year, I asked my husband to till me one four times the size. It's now 1600 sq foot with the in ground and raised bed area and I'm obsessed.

I can tell you we have the same coloring and ashy " dirty dishwater" blonde color. It will look super dark once grown out so prepare for that. I added some highlights later just because the darkness was so foreign to me. It was enough to give it some depth and lightness around my face. Made my eyes pop even more though and I liked that about letting it grow out lol
