Gshock combi bracelet install (gwm5610) 

This video is excellent except for ONE KEY FACTOR: THE SPRING BARS FOR THE COMBI BRACELET ARE A DIFFERENT SIZE THAN THE ONES THAT COME WITH THE FACTORY STRAP. 16mm x 1.8mm vs 16mm x 2.0mm. YOU MUST USE 16mm X 1.8mm. IT WILL MAKE AN HOUR JOB TAKE 10 MINUTES. (Also advice copied from another user SBoyzTV) If you leave that spring bar really long (to the point that it only sticks out on one side dramatically) it will be a lot easier to "aim" it in that tiny lug hole. Once you get that spring bar end in place push the strap into place and then the other end of the spring bar will start to poke out on the other side. As long as you can get the top of the plastic notch of that strap into place compressing the other end of the spring bar will be an easy push. Then push the whole strap into place until you hear the clicks

I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggled with this. I swapped the strap on my sons dw5600 and it was a nightmare installing the new strap. I found that removing the bezel made it much easier.

Holy cow that was a nightmare. The techniques you showed helped me so much. I installed a Gen 1 combi on my 5000U and almost gave up and put after market thinner spring bars in but I knew it would always bug me! Thanks man as always ! 👊🏼🤙🏼

Removing these straps is the easy part. Reinstalling on the other hand. Did it the other day on mine. Very easy to make a mess of the lugs. Not sure I'll be attempting it again.

Thanks for the video. I just upgraded my GWM5610-1 with the bracelet from the new GWB5600BC-1B. It was a tough install as the bracelet is hard plastic and has no give to it like the standard rubber straps. However, now that it's done, I'm quite happy with the result and the additional comfort of the bracelet.

Just to share. In the factory, they use adjustable v-type spring bar remover. In will not scratch your inner lug if use it the right way. They seldom use the spring bar.

Thanks Random Rob! I did this for a G5600E. $100 watch with $100 band but worth it. Kind of had to remove the bezel and go in from the watch face, probably bent the spring bars slightly but it fits really snug and looks amazing! Thanks again for the inspiration!

I always take off the case back and the bezel. Makes the job ten times faster.

I bought a second g-shock square with the intention of swapping my combi back and forth... after one removal and install that combi is staying where it is... 1 hour and stabbed my finger with the tool real good. I couldn't believe how difficult it was, was concerned I was going wreck the holes on the lug as well. NIGHTMARE lmao.

Took me over 1 hour to perform this strap swap. The problem is even when the spring bars are in you have to make sure they are lined up in the spring bar holes fully. I had to take two breaks from doing this before I was successful.

I have been looking for a combi bracelet for this same watch for a bit. Just haven't run across one yet. It looks good!

So I did this install tonight. Took an hour and a half. The only way I could achieve it was to take the bezel off and make sure one bar end absolutely went into the spring bar hole (I discovered that if one end of the bar is on the plastic flange rather than in the hole, there isn’t enough compression available to get the other end in no matter how hard you try, it’s physically impossible). Once one end is in, brute force is needed to wedge the plastic end in, then you can compress the other end of the spring bar into place. But even then, force is again needed and lots of wiggling around to get both ends seated. This is the worst design of bracelet / strap fitting that I have ever seen in my life. I will never get that 90 minutes of my life back. And I chewed the plastic flange a bit. Casio really did not design these things well. I strongly recommend you take this bracelet to a professional to have it fitted. I would never do it again myself.

Use adhesive tape, to tape the case to the desk. Then, it will give you more flexibility when installing the spring bars.

it helps if you take the case top off 4 little screws on the side

Right now... As I am waiting on a GW-B5600-2ER to be delivered... And considering the Combi bracelet... I can only hope that the newer bracelets are a bit easier to fit lol.

I maybe in a minority here but I love the standard bands that the 5600-5610s come with! So I don't bother with combis and I hear they are over $100? You can get about 10 standard ones for that! I do confess I haven't tried the combi but I don't see the value in it?

Might be a ton easier for those who have the rolex style springbar pliers? since that would compress both ends at once

I love the look of the combi bracelet! I notice Im wearing the watch. When I wear an oem resin band on my 5600 I forger im wearing my watch. To me combi looks better but oem resin is a little lighter and more comfortable

hmm there are 2 types of bracelet a GW*M*5600/5610 and GW5600 (non *M*) they are both not interchangable huh ? i have a GWX6500 i wonder which one should i go with

Have the V1 combi bracelet on my 5610 and do not like the way it looks....watch is flat black and the bracelet has a sheen....looks rigged....also there is a small lip with a gap where the bracelet meets the watch.....have a 5000e with an identical bracelet....(both are from Casio) and it fits perfect....color is spot on and no gap....any thoughts on the V2 bracelets ??

the case on 5600 is bigger than the 5610 that's why your spring bar is bent lol....

The best solution is >>> use 1,8mm diameter spring bar instead original 2mm

Anyone try the DHGate titanium bezel & bracelet combo? Seen one cheaper on alibaba too. 170 to 200 bucks but it would be light. If it’s real.
