@@Minekeek awesome! If you need a Mining software that doesn't charge you extra for transactions like (nicehash or hive os) you could you my referral link in description. It's for Betterhash.net and pretty easy to use. You will help also this channel for making an account and mining with Betterhash :) good luck!
What about the Tesla accelerator cards? One their own most cant mine for shit. But im wondering if the shared memory will improve the performance of the 1030's?
Unfortunatelly old video cards becomes obsolete over time, it's not only because they have such low graphics and low VRAM but also because they consume more energy from the grid. If you do not pay for electricity than it's fine still your card might not make enough hash rates to compete to newer cards. Old cards bellow 750ti's hashing power I presume that they cannot mine profitable coins anymore. The GT 1030 can mine only with a shared memory and only if you increase the GPU's frequency to match the other card's GPU frequency as well. The GT 710 730 740 750 etc, cannot mine solo or even with a shared VRAM anymore because it's impossible to overclock them above 1600 MHz, which is a relatevely stable mining frequency and barely enough to make a good hashing rate.
I have a 3080 and a gt 1030 and the 1030 keeps sleeping while trying to mine kawpow (nbminer) rvn. You said it would automatically share vram when restarting but I’ve restarted several times and it’s still sleeping. Any solutions? (I’m on betterhash)
For a successful mining on a GT 1030 the Graphic Processor and the Memory speed must be close related with each other. The GPU that is sharing the processing and memory, in your case RTX 3080, must be underclocked for compared working values. Be warned if you underclock your RTX 3080 to much you WILL get graphic failure and Blue screen of "death"!!! It is your own risk if you want to do this! If the GT 1030 is not mining could be one or more of the following: 1) It is a to much higher performance gap between graphic cards and might not be compatible at all! 2) Usually DDR6 works better with the same DDR6 almost at any speed. Since all GT1030s have two or 3 types of VRAMs (DRR3, DDR4 and DDR5) only DDR5 can successfully share the memory with a DDR6. Still if your GT 1030 have a DDR5 it MUST match the speed of the counterpart DDR6 VRAM of the RTX 3080 otherwise won't work at all. 3) The GT 1030 have only 1 VRAM, or that its memory even if is has a higher capacity, let's say 4GB, the memory type is DDR3 it won't work at all. This GPU is an example: biostar.com.tw/app/en/vga/introduction.php?S_ID=286 DDR3 is one of worst VRAM possible. 4) Instead of using the Monitoring Software to increase the VRAM speed better use this Nvidia inspector. If all the above didn't solve your issue then I have no Idea what problem could it be buddy... :)
When you build a rig you must consider how much VRAM you have available for the coin you mine. Ex: if you mine Bitcoin gold it needs a bit more than 2 GB I think last time I checked it was 2068 or 89 not sure but you must check the dag file for it. Than a 8GB GPU could work by sharing the memory 2 or 3 GT 1030 (not sure though, never tried), still an AMD graphic card might not work with a Nvidia when it comes to share the VRAM. You can try to make your own experiment...
If your mining with only one card, in this case GT1030, then you don't need extra settings for Vertcoin. But when your mining with both GPUs then you need to Overclock the 1030 to a stable processing and increase the VRAM speed as well. Be aware that you should do this steadily, 50 by 50 Hz, for both process and memory and Not suddenly because you can crash your PC or get a Blue screen. If it is not working then it might be a compatibility problem between graphic cards. Oh btw, mine with only ONE software, if you mine Vertcoin do it with both otherwise it won't work or only one will mine and the other one won't.
@@rubendebbarma5040 I think you must increase the memory clock if the 1660 doesn't have a Hynix memory but if it does then lower the clock speed on 1660 to match 1030's...
Hi bro..Hi all people ...Hey can you try to mine ergo with that card? And than let us now the results here or on some other way..Thank you in any way! All the best and suport!
I did not try it yet. And as far as I see the Ergo's DAG file is higher than 2 Gb (2.142 Gb to be exact) so it's not possible for GTX 1030 to mine it alone.
Can you explain how to use shared memory? Can i run 1030 with 1070ti to mine eth? How will miner alocate dag to 1030? As far as i know shared memory is with your RAM not a VRAM
Yes you can use your 1070 Ti and I presume that it might work quite nice because the 1070 Ti has 8 Gb right? Basically there is nothing to explain, your system will identify authomatically the GPUs and share the memmory. Just put the GPUs into the two x16 slots and your done. If you have only one x16 and only one x1 or x4 slot then you need to use an PCI express riser like I did.
@@universalabo2512 why do i need x16 for 1030? pcie riser is just extension cable for your pcie express slot so if i dont have x16 i cant have it even with riser. i have pcie 3.0 just under my 1070 ti but its too close and my gpy wont have good airflow and i have one more pcie 3.0 x2 at the bottom. I am thinking to put 1030 there..
@@lowzyyy I was suggesting to use two x16 if your mother board have two. Any slot that suits your MB suffice! If you still wonder how to do it I'll make a video later make sure to subscribe so that you'll be notified later.
Nope one GT 1030 is useless with another GT 1030. It's mostly because the VRAM cannot be added or changed, and also even if you could mine (only theoretically) with two GTs, only one will be able to do any hashing, still at the GPU processing speed, will have very low hashing rate. The VRAM is integrated into the GPU and unfortunately it won't be designed to be exchanged/upgraded like a normal RAM. They've done it before, didn't work out so they won't do it again... I have something in mind to try out, an APU + GT1030, still I need to see how can I optimize the upgraded Graphics and if it is actually possible. But that will be in another video so stay tuned!
I not sure if I understood the question, still if you were refering if it can mine solo, than Nope, the DAG file epoch for the coins I'm mining is relatevely high... You could try other coins but these days many people are mining, so most probably the GT 1030 won't be able to do anything alone., except to mine with a shared memory..
It is automatic share. The only thing you need to do is to insert the GPUs into pcie slots and restart the PC. You need to way until the system recognize the hardware. Login and restart a second time because it might not be visually seen on some OS. Then your good to go!
Well, of course it will not mine the VRAM of the FT 1030 is maximum 2 GB. Still you cannot calculate as solo if in the same computer are more then two graphic cards installed.
Unfortunately, if you do not have another GPU with a higher VRAM, the GT 1030 cannot mine alone. I will try later some other coins and if they will be succesfull I will make a video for you guys. Just subscribe and press the notification button if you want to see future mining videos...!
what do you mean by sick? I do not mine anything with it because the profits are extremely low (actually i consume more energy to mine then having a profit). If you listen to what I said at the beginning of the video, I bought the card for EXPERIMENTAL purposes only, to check if VRAM sharing is possible between the GTX 1030 and other higher end graphic cards.
