SO TRUE Commercial PCs weren't made for gaming in mind back at the time, understandably so... So if you had a computer that could run *hefty* games, everyone would idolize you, cuz the best they could run was Tetris or Retro Ping pong games or so... There wasn't even that many heavy games...
@@COROLLA-2024 I had a laptop that could start GTA IV, but because of the lack of vram only Niko and the pedestrian were visible. The entire world couldn't load haha 😅🥴
Some companies still sell physical videogames, problem is that sometimes is just the box and inside a piece of paper with the download code, or in the case of Bethesda is a cardboard disc with the download code
Most games these days require Steam or some other online service (like Social Club in the case of GTAV) to install updates and play the game, even if you get an actual DVD and not just a serial key in the DVD case. Like I have an original copy of GTA San Andreas on DVD and can easily play without any online bullshit. I just prefer to apply a no-dvd crack so I don't have to have the disc making noise as it's spinning while playing.
Problem with physical copies of games today is that our attention span has been reduced, therefore the efforts of swapping games in/out of a console....efforts of neatly storing our physical copies...and efforts of not losing our physical copies would all be above the ability to most of society today.

I've completed GTA IV on XP. Had to do one tweak in regedit to change system thinking from Service Pack 2 to Service Pack 3 and that was all. This was beautiful to see.
@@iamboredascrap123I was getting around 20-25fps on Intel Dual Core (can't remember which one) 2.4GHz, 4GB DDR2, HDD and nVidia GeForce 9600GT 512mb 256bit back in 2009.
@@ghxztpxppglv33 man my pc runs valorant on 100 fps and rocket league and runs gta 5 vc san . It runs need for speed payback on 1080 p which has 10x better graphics on 60 fps gta is shit laggs too much on windows 10
i remember when i would beat this game few times playing on a laptop, lowest settings possible, 800x600, 15 fps (25 fps when i looked down to the ground) nowadays people cry when they have 110 fps instead of 120 at 4k
I didn't know GTA IV was thing until i found it in Google and RU-vid In my country only gta game we grew up playing early 2000s were Vice City and San Andreas and only few OGs like me played gta3 Most of our PC back then weren't able to handle this game at launch and it didn't gained much popularity until years later
The horrible optimisation on PC didn't help either. I remember building a midrange gaming PC back in 2014. GTA IV was one of the first games I installed and even though the hardware was much better than anything you could get in 2008 (when GTA IV was released on PC), the fps still dropped to 20 randomly.
On the other side of the box it actually says designed for Windows Vista, the 2009 release + episodes from liberty city have designed for windows 7 logo + no windows games live logo.
Wasn’t Windows XP the standard that most people used in 2008? Windows vista was out bust most people went straight from XP to Win 7 in 2009 because Vista sucked.
The game's system requirements were lower but it still performed poor on most of the pcs because rockstar knew it was not optimized but still they releassd it. The simple solution is to create a commandline.txt according to your need and paste in the game folder And change some windows settings
If you think about it, windows xp is only like 23 years old, but most average computers with it are only like 19 years old, assuming your grandma is about 75 years old, this pc is only about 25% as old as your grandma, not even half as old, so you are completely wrong, while i do know this is a joke, it is very unfunny and thats why i made this comment just to make you read all this trol
I actually remember when my dad and uncle changes our pc from a gaming one to an office one. I installed GTA vice City and it didn't run. I somehow got instantly raged and broke the cpu by rageous kicks . From that onwards whenever I see these underperforming pcs all want to do is 'kick it '.
just recently played thru GTA4 on my modern spec PC and i not only had to get patches to have the game run better but i also had to underclock my CPU because it was running too hot on all high settings lmao what a game
this game will NEVER run well because of how the engine behaves if you're running on any higher end computer, you'll want to lock the game to go no higher than 60fps because the physics won't behave properly and the final mission can't be completed
don't listen to user whatever, Windows 7 doesn't have much bloat to begin with, thing is the OS (windows) you use doesn't really matter on performance, it is the specs that matter like the cpu gpu and ram, thinking fps depends on os's is like saying black isn't the opposite of white, yes ofc fps does matter on os's but it's just a little bit, not really a big difference to call it a difference especially between something like xp and 7
@@archux_ I was just saying that bloatware and malware might form up if the OS isn't maintained for a while, while their isn't much difference in performance on operating systems like xp and 7. Their still might be some hardware compatibility issue on modern OS on extremely vintage systems which are still used to the date by minority of users.
@@aaz1992 bro pc might be using a lot of resources and some apps might be opened and youre using very old system upgrade bro atleast get a i3 and intel hd graphics to play this game
I wonder how it will run on my fully maxed out 2009 desktop replacement (Overclocked 3.1ghz 1st gen i5, 16gb ram, 500gb ssd, dual-booted windows 7/10, and a 800x600 monitor for maximum performance) If my 2009 monster can run CSS at 200 fps, it could probably do 20 on GTA 4
