We compare the graphics of GTA 5 Original / Vanilla with Redux Mod on PC. Both are captured with maximum graphics settings. GTA 5 Redux enhances the game with new visuals, weather system and gameplay. It adds textures and other elements through a OpenIV install package and adds ReShade + ENB effects. GTA 5 Redux is made by Josh Romito, the same author of the Pinnacle of V mod. Both mods are accused to rip off code from other GTA 5 mods as VisualV. We could not provide a fps counter, because we had to use two different systems to capture. As many other players we suffered from crashes and bugs while installing the mod. Wir vergleichen die Grafik GTA 5 im Original mit der Redux Mod auf dem PC. Beide Varianten wurden mit maximalen Grafik-Details aufgenommen. Die GTA 5 Redux Mod bereichert das Spiel mit einer neuen, atemberaubenden Optik, neuem Wettersystem und verbessertem Gameplay. Es fügt dem Spiel zudem 4K Texturen und andere Elemente durch ein 3,3 GB großes OpenIV Installationspaket hinzu, außerdem wird die Mod durch ReShade- und ENB-Effekte ergänzt. sry, Forgot About new cards. Nvidia released gtx 1060 and gtx 1070. 1070 costs 400 Euros, With this Card youre safe for 5 years. 1060 costs just 250-300 Euros and runs all games With more than 60 fps. buy 1060 With 6 GBs and you will be happy :)

HEY, so i just installed the REDUX mod, and for me it is locked at 60fps. I have a 144hz monitor and ofcourse i would like to go above 60fps, is there a file that i need to go into for REDUX and type a command code to unlock the fps? Cause staying at max 60fps the game is lagging for me. In GTA V settings it shows that my monitor settings is at 144hz so not sure why it isn't going above 60fps?

The sky on redux looks like a big image paste on the background. the clouds don't have movement. Its so superficial and fake.. Vanilla mod is more natural. Redux makes that the games looks as darkness.. expectations of this mod were more than reality.

Vanilla can also have a bright blue sky. It just depends on the time of day and weather. All these mods that changes the games graphics and shit because they just ruin the games original art direction. They look completely out of place and broken.

+Zombie Guy Well, for one, Josh Romito never made Redux. Redux is literally a compilation of many other individual mods, which he claimed to have made every single one. In reality, he never made any of them. He took source files from mods like VisualV and GTA Realism and basically called it his own. He brings nothing new to GTAV, everything in this Redux can be found on gta5-mods and is even more modular and user friendly than his POS of a one click installer. The thing that is making the GTAV scene modders(eg: _ CP_, modders for VisualV, and Mkeezay30 modders of GTA Realism) pissed off is that Josh Romito said he made everything in Redux, by himself, from *scratch*. When he barely even edited anything but just compiled it into one .oiv file. gtaforums.com/topic/792891-visualv/page-49 if you have time read the thread from page 46 onwards. You may think all it is, is that the numbers for various settings are just very similar and that's it. But there's more to that. That's pretty much the summary why Redux is a scam. Tricking users to think Josh Romito is the God of modders, bringing new physics into the game when GTA Realism has been on the web for almost a year doing the same thing it does. TL;DR : Jrom never made anything, Pinnacle of V and Miracle of V were both shut down due to modders finding their own original source files when Jrom lied to say he made them all himself. Same case with Redux.

That isn't how it happens in real life. This mod (except for the amazing high-res textures) does not look more than a blue color tint with darker blacks. In real life, the camera would only be able to adjust its exposure to look at either the sky and other really bright things, or the shadow projected by a building, like in this picture: www.copybook.com/media/military/profiles/vio/migrated/images/Exposure-Control-System1.jpg But the mod does not do that, instead it uses a different exposure for each different element in the scene, so if you're looking at a dark alley and you want to see inside it, you'd increase exposure length, and the sky would be brighter and brighter, but this mod does not do that, so it doesn't feel realistic. If you come out of a dark room, your eyes have to adjust to the new exposure. Your eyes aren't always ready for those sudden new amounts of light, so things don't have the right brightness to your eyes instantly. TL;DR: This mod doesn't control exposure correctly so everything looks like it was filmed under the same lighting conditions.

+SwizzleDude If you're talking about the graphics themselves then that doesn't make any sense. The textures have been upgraded to 4K, the shaders are just optional. So from an objective standpoint it looks better.

If you guys went to the Redux page or even watched the video over it you'd realize there are about 15 different presets for graphical enhancements. It's not just the one Candyland is showing us. There are several different ones. Plus the mod is much more than just graphical overhaul. Gameplay and other features are overhauled too.

Apart from the very last scene, the bulevard at the beach, I agree and found most effects / changes to be over the top. At best it looks like a tempered photo. More realistic? Yes, but not quite. Uncanny-valley-teritory. While vanilla has a unique look and style of a great looking game imho. Realistic is not always best; when the contrasts are too strong, the effects too blinding, the nights too dark (it really was too dark, this is a city there should be some residual lighting)...the graphics become impractical. I bet this can be very stressful to the eyes while playing. Then again...mods like these, I often think they're not so much for actually playing but rather to take pretty screenshots. :D

they did alot more than that man, they retextured every road in the game + some advertisements, overhauled the ragdoll system (replacing it with the euphoria engine) completely remade the suspension and car physics system, replaced the gun sounds and replaced the water textures and physics

GTA V Redux is not made from 100% reworked and scratch, its a compliation of mods from modders who didn't get credit. If you all dig deeper intl this, you would realize that this Josh Romito has a history of using mods without modders consent. Just giving you all words of wisdom.

i dont know in which world most people life, but when i look out of my window, nothign there shines that bright and colorful or got such high contrast from light to shadow. Vanilla often mirrors the big, grey city scenario better, in my opinion.

The redux mod is mostly focused on balance and gameplay changes, graphics is just half of it. The dancing trees are more realistic, so it only made sense to include them.

Man, it seems like for every thing redux improves there is something else that suddenly looks really unnatural. I guess it's a taste thing, but I prefer the overall look of vanilla, even though I like some of the enhanced textures and effects.

driving in GTA 4 is more realistic than GTA V and with this mod, you can get the GTA 4 handling and a GTA 4 like balanced acceleration,break,top speed and everything like GTA 4.

Bluesh filters and darker colors almost all the time on Redux, but somethings like the Sky box looks better at some weather presets, Vanila is still the way it meant to be played.

I don't get the depth of field effect in the redux mode. I always thought that if something is out of focus then it becomes blurry so for instance if I inspect a weapon then the weapon model will be sharp and the rest of the enviroment becomes blurry. Correct me if I'm wrong but if something is far in the distance then it's wont be blurry. Another things is the color correction. The brightness/contrast ratio is fucked up in the Redux mode and because of that many subtle details becomes invisible. Like the breaks on the car's wheel and a bunch of other enviroment related things.

The only game I have ever seen to have a mod that actually improves it's in game graphics is Skyrim. This mod literally looks abysmal and washes everything out that isn't directly in from of your character. SMH.

thats cuz skyrim release their modding programs, the ''G.E.C.K.'' making mods is easier on skyrim (for me it isnt easy but for modders it is) GTAV? these modders have to start from scratch, nothing. rockstar does not support modding, thats why its hard to come up with good mods. soo in overal, you shouldnt compare skyrim with gtav in general. just saying.

Vanilla hands down. Redux removes all the interesting filters/fog/blur effects. It's basically a cleaner picture with exaggerated contrasts... And water/clouds are done with a very unrealistic noise algorithm...

some things the vanilla does better is the overcast rain cause the shadows are softer than redux which is more like real life, the displacement in the waves is too chaotic for the panning of the waves, and sometimes the occlusion shadows are a little strong: the scene with the black car. mostly nit picks, but other wise, a nice looking mod!

Heavy blurring of the distant objects kills it all, the only spectacular view was at the rainy night scene, because the rain can sort of explain the blurring, but all other scenes to me quite bad, no such definition, it literally feels like you forgot your glasses at home and went out on the streets without them, everything is so blurred and unclear.

Seriously Candyland? You guys are supporting Josh Romito, while mods like Realism and VisualV for GTA are not showcased when they're the original? If you guys haven't been catching up with the news, Josh Romito is again caught plagiarising works from VisualV and Realism in Redux, same case as Pinnacle of V and Miracle of V. Jrom could use files from other mods but he never asked for permission or even credited them in the slightest way.

The only thing that bothering me is the sky sometimes just too blue (at clear weather) in my opinion, i don't know with you guys, but i had to mix it with VisualV weather system to make it looks great (in my eyes)

In der Beschreibung steht das Ihr den GameStar-PC Ultra benutzt habt.. da ist aber eine andere Grafikkarte, die Palit GeForce GTX 980 Ti Super Jetstream 6GB? Welche Grafikkarte habt ihr nun benutzt?
