GTA 5 or GTA San Andreas?

I find it funny how seeing them side by side GTA v makes the definitive edition still look like the Xbox and PS2 version of San Andreas yet when you look at the definitive edition by itself you can tell the upgrades 😂

I wish they added the same slight fog from GTA 5 to the definitive edition, it would make all the difference

Keep in mind ones cartoon styled and ones more realistic, it does affect this a bit more then you’d think, just personal opinion, as much as I love SA I’d personally pick V, music is better in SA

I think GTA five is timeless. The graphics don't change as much as they used to and the animations are realistic and probably won't change much in 20 years.

Although GTA SA definitive edition has a flaws such as characters model and the size looks smaller than the original but GTA SA still has better story , protagonist and more fun than GTA 5.

This shows it very well that models were kind of untouched and only better resolution textures were applied. Which is not a sin or anything, but on the grand scale the small details of gta v make it look way better and more alive, sa is blank from a plane, which again is not a problem, because the game was not desingned to be viewed in larga resolution and from large distances. The fog made ot look cleaner, because it hid the emptiness in the distance, and I wish they will add it back. Also legs underwater in sa get no effects, while gta v handles it and you can see a more realistic picture

Now i see why is Rockstar so proud of GTA 5, it's their most advanced GTA to this day (d'uh ofc), remaster is cool but this still somehow fits today's standards while Trilogy doesn't

Why is it that almost all locations that are in both games look different the observatory is a whole different looking building and mount chilliad looks like a huge rock in San Andreas and the most important one I’ve seen grove street is different in both games.

I hope this proves to all the people complaining about the cartoon style of the definitive edition. Gta 4 and 5 clearly has that same cartoon style it’s just more modernized. GTA artwork on the loading screen is how the game SHOULD look. I’d say a mix of 40 percent cartoon and a 60 percent realistic look. GTA was never supposed to look REALISTIC because it would make parents very angry. If you want that realistic look, invest in a very expensive gaming desktop with a very expensive gpu alongside a extremely fast cpu, then proceed to download a realistic mod and enjoy. Maybe even a 30 percent cartoon 70 percent realistic style of graphics would be appropriate. I think people tend to think cartoon looks goofy and childish but that’s what GTA is dude. It’s felt like I was jumping inside of a comic book when I played gta as a kid. It never felt like it was supposed to be hyper realistic. It gave me this sort of wacky, sarcastic, dramatic, over the top, comic feel with a dash of realism. In my opinion the definitive edition didn’t over do the cartoon style, they just should have added a lot more detail. Things like the character models looking all blobby and un proportionate, the cars lacking detail, the npc looking like the ps2 npc still without much added detail. Things like hair blowing in the wind when you zoom past someone, making the npc have more intelligence instead of them walking through a gunfight like it’s nothing, making cj fly out of a vehicle when he crashes the right way; like gta 4 and 5. Things like the fighting being just like ps2 still. NO! We have already played San Andreas , give us a more realistic fighting system like gta 5 where you can weave and counter and stuff. Making the FEEL of the GAMEPLAY more realistic would have balanced that cartoon style out A LOT BETTER. I think it still has plenty potential and with updates it’s never too late. No one will complain. If they do, give them the option to play “classic style mode” where all the old mechanics are still there; The driving, the fighting and shooting mainly. I’m sure people would even BUT it as an optional dlc. I honestly think rockstar; excuse me, “GROVE STREET GAMES”, didn’t want to “copy” or blatantly take any ideas display any from GTA:SA realistic modders. They tried to put their own original twist on it but it would’ve been way better if they just hired the modders and worked together instead of having only 12 people to work on a remaster of a game of this caliber.
