I felt the same way. After playing as Michael for so long, you start to connect with him and almost convince yourself that the heist going wrong at the beginning was just an accident, and he didn't actually betray the group. But then, you're reminded that he can't escape his past, and he's not really a hero-just a flawed, complex individual. The music playing during that scene adds to the impact; it's the same music you hear in the game menu, but it hits differently here. It makes you realize that the whole story has been about this betrayal, and you're also aware that the game's end is approaching, which adds to the sense of inevitability and the bittersweet tone of the story.
People hates Michael for a lot of reasons, I understand all of that, especially for T. But try a bit to understand him for real, I did and still do. He’s my favorite character in the GTA Universe, followed by Trevor and Franklin.

yeah at 2 stars (no music) its just "haha funny they are still chasing me for beating up some guy who made fun of my character" and then at 3-5 stars once THIS music stars playing, your will to survive and escape the police just goes 📈

Dammmmmiiitttt man f**k I began to play gta v after 7 years again and I got into this mission as “ Trevor “ and I DID NOT GET THIS CUTSCENE! I got this cutscene on my first playthrough but I was 13 years old and did not even know english back then so I did not understand a thing anyway now I am deprived of this iconic cutscene if the f**king mission is about Michael then we should only be able to start that mission as MICHAEL right. Yes I also could’ve thought about going the mission with Michael if it’s about Michael but man c’mon it’s so hard to assume that this cutscene is not available for every MAIN character. BULLSH’T I hope they won’t make this mistake on another game. I AM SO F***KING PISSED OF NOW 😩
Basically Michael Cut a deal with the FIB so He sold out Trevor and Brad For a new life in los santos and he went into a witness protection program However Brad was suppose to be in The pen and trevor was suppost to be buried in michaels place and now trevor is going to find out who is in michaels grave to find out it was brad

Nah he said in a mission to Franklin that he had to go into an “informal” witness protection program. Meaning that it wasn’t a legitimate program. Which is why Dave Norton is always trying to cover up his files
i love how in gta 5 one of the wanted themes are a remix of this song, when this music starts playing during 3-5 stars it goes from having fun with gta police to a full blown mission.
