my biggest gripe is all the detail in their faces have been removed and smoothed out. its like they turned on beauty selfie mode and really distracts from the other improvements they did make.

@@videodeposu8741 Because consoles usually run at 480p/i at the time? It looks better and more detailed with the spfter look and better lighting. Also fully detailed cars and characters in the cutscenes it only has few messed up bits that PS2 had done better like helicopter blades not being properly blurry. Also 10th anniversary is just copied Xbox assets.

3:13 Thank you!! They finally did the assault rifle aiming correct for consoles!!! It was so annoying that I could only aim in first person with assault rifles in the original version. I still don’t know why they did that because GTA 3 allowed you to auto-aim with the AK, so why did they have assault rifles in Vice City only aim in first person?? It doesn’t make sense because after VC, all the games that came after it allowed us to auto-aim assault rifles. They finally realized that was stupid as hell so they fixed it where it will allow you to aim in 3rd person! THANK YOU ROCKSTAR!!!!

You technically can aim in 3rd person with the assault rifle in Gta Vice City for the original consoles. You have to set Tommy on fire with a molotov cocktail and then equip the Kruger/M4 and proceed to aim. It only works while Tommy is on fire. It's weird on why that happens but it is possible. Try it out.

The graphics for the character models are not only a lazy cheap makeover, but also the definitive edition has litttle emotion in the face, when someone is angry they have a straight face compared to the the original where the eyebrows are raised, teeth are showing ...the sad thing I truly doubt rockstar will change anything

Man the definitive edition looks so damn intriguing, I wanna play it but it's just the chopped up soundtrack kicks my ass though.. It's kind of strange though, i find that my PS2 version of VC is sometimes kinda yellowy in situations and the cars have a distinctive shine almost like gta San Andreas on PS2. Tho I keep trails on which might be what causes the yellowing. The biggest thing that I like about the original PC version of San Andreas on the PS2 version is the map enhancements, like vegetation and street clutter. I always wondered if they did anything like that to VC but it doesn't look like they added anything from PS2 to PC.

It seems to me tha the company who remastered this didn’t even pay attention to the character models and expressions too much, I mean they had all the old original drawings of the characters from when the game was in development and they even had loading screen and promotional artwork for reference to rework the models but seems like they just ignored it all, smoothened the skin and made everyone look cartoonish.

It’s the little things, the icons and sound affects for the pause menus are all San Andreas’s, the mini map layout just looks odd to me, and Tommy looks like shit, he was far more expressive in the original, which came out nearly 20 years ago.

Let me help: its that it is too polished. To create something that looks life-like you have to make it imperfect. Smudges, dirt, trash, dents and corrosion on stuff is mostly absent and it creates this cheap modded game look. It’s better when you watch the full gameplay tho. I liked the definitve Vice City and San Andreas.

It's some of the characters models not blending in with the new look of the game. Some of the characters need more facial wrinkles and bags under eyes. Small details like that are absent, making them look like their skin is very smooth. If they added a few more details to the character models. It wouldn't look so off to the environments around them. I think everything outside of that does look decent.

I wish the PS2 era limited aspects didn't transfer over... If they went through this much hassle to to port it to UE4 they should of increased vehicle and pedestrian density too (add ragdoll and it would be perfect)... now it just looks like the old PC version on max settings with mods.

0:37 telltale interlace artifacting/combing of the OG Xbox version. This happens with an interlaced output, but it should not and would not be happening if the Xbox version was running at its native resolution (480p). You presented all three Xbox versions at this sub-native resolution in these latest videos, which is very misleading as to image quality. Not a fair thing to do.

Personally I like the PC Original and 10th anniversary versions the most. To me, the streets look too bright, and tommy's face went from stoic badass to cartoon character in the definitive edition EDIT: Yikes, it's a rushed job, cut voice lines, cut radio tracks, and botched facial surgery.

I think vice city is the best port on mobile. I played all of em and man it's soo clean. Worst is San Andreas. Then Liberty City Stories. Then Bully. Chinatown wars. Gta 3. Vice city and the best port is max payne. I haven't encountered a single bug in max payne.

LCS's port feels like the original psp version with better graphics . THO i agree max payne's the best R* port on mobile .

If you exclude the Definitive Edition for a second, the 10th anniversary looks the best out of the original console and PC versions. The world in the definitive edition looks amazing, but the character models are lacking. Some of them look ok though (movie director, Jezz Torrent from Love Fist, Colonel Sanchez, Diaz)

10th aniv edition is buggy. Many times, your car will automatically drive u to left or right. Many times the AI doesn't register the stunts. But, I still play it cos I don't have a PC/controller.

I would have liked that not only Tommy Vercetti, but all the other characters had a redesign, and for example, Mercedes Díaz who looks the same in the "Definitive Edition", she looks weird. And speaking of Tommy Vercetti, I don't like that the shadow where he grows a beard is so noticeable, speaking of the rest of the game, the remastering is excellent.

On ps2 version, it was crazy to see blood splatter on the screen when using a chainsaw. Cutting this feature for the other versions of the game, was just stupid. It was such a creative 4th wall break for games at those times...
