Vice City will forever be my favorite. I love San Andreas as well, but there's just something special about Vice city. When replaying the game, it feels like coming home after a long trip.
Dude, I absolutely love your content, as someone who has dabbled in content creation I can understand the dedication it takes to make these. Keep up the hard work and it'll prove fruitful
@@themm5752 Absolutely. The absolute best thing would be the trilogy remastered followed by Rayman 4 as a 3D platformer. Rayman 1 would need some serious attention though, because as it is it is way too hard. Even with the 99 lives cheat it's a disaster.
Wow I Did not expect a video on GTA Vice City! I remember around the end of October of last year, I finally decided to try and complete Vice City once and for all. I did complete the story and only thing I didn’t get to were the car missions for the car dealership. Had a lot of fun going through it. It’s sad we lost Ray Liotta this year he was amazing as Tommy as well as the other legendary roles he did.
Anyone else remember always seeing that awesome commercial while watching RAW and SmackDown? It had the song "I Ran" by A Flock of Seagulls. Anyway, I was nine and half years old when this game came out. GTA 3 and Vice City were the first two games I played where I knew my friends and I were way too damn young for them lol. Like Halo CE was tame compared to them. We loved just driving around and listening to the radio.
I expect a HD remaster of your self-recorded music in 20 years. Thanks for making me laugh, in a good way, about your own rendition of the game's iconic tracks :)
There are musicians who have admitted to GTA Vice City as an influence. For example the famous musician The Weeknd stated the song "Blinding lights" was influenced by his feelings playing the game.
God this game is nostalgic to me. I spent hours watching my older brother play it when we were prooooooobably both a bit too young. This and Legend of Zelda Wind Waker hold an incredibly special place in my heart from the time I spent with him.
i NEVER comment on videos but i have to say, you just keep putting out banger video after banger video. really happy i discovered your content! keep it up!
hell yeah, hope this means we're gonna be looking at all the gta titles. none of them have that much significant differences between ports, but as a big fan of the series, I'm all in for this journey. and please, keep going with the kazoo
First game I ever torrented, as in Pirated. I was like 13, and on the PSP Vice City Stories introduced me to GTA, and I wanted to learn the connection to the original Vice City. Game came precracked, and yet my mom's PC didn't die that day from viruses. I now buy my games, but my memories are in Vice City. Even on RU-vid, one of the 5 videos I have is from Vice City Stories, 14 years ago.
Damn! I remember when i first time play GTA Vice City (plus when i listen Vice City, this is sound like WHY City)) First time play on PC in computer club 2009. This is atmosphere 80's Ah! Nice memories! Now i searching in youtube more interesting mods for upgrades GTA Vice City! Hello from Kamchatka! 🐺👍🏻
I was a little bit young for the original version of this game when it came out, but I discovered it when it came out on IOS, in like 7th grade. And I played the HELL out of that on my iPad. It was so much fun in that format. I’ve recently been playing the original on an emulator. I know it’s not everyone’s favorite GTA game but I still consider this to be one of the best games of all time. The map is perfect, the art style is unique and memorable, it has one of the best soundtracks, a good story, and introduced so many things that became series staples after it. I was late to the party with it but because they ported it so many times I feel like a really wide range of people from millennials all the way through gen Z are nostalgic for this game. All of us had at least one version of it come out when we were growing up. I love seeing the subtle differences in versions in these videos, I can’t get enough of them. As an aspiring game designer I learn a lot from looking at these old games and seeing what they did to achieve certain goals with the limitations they had
Those bright sunsets , polygon police , night vibe of 2 cities , mansion mission, discovery of a strip club , bikers gang missions , RC mission , spawning rhinos added with a perfect theme. Good old days
Oh, I remember being introduced to GTA. My first game was San Andreas, and then I played Chinatown Wars, 4, and 5. I loved the newer games, but I really wanted to play 3 and Vice City, and I did eventually and loved them. Then Grand Theft Auto The Trilogy Defecated Edition happened. Almost killed my love for this series.
I remember having a lot of trouble completing the mission where you rescue Lance, I kept trying at it till I was at the point I could plan it out like an Ocean's Eleven style heist. 1.) Take advantage of the fact that you can stash a car at the mission site for a quick get away. 2.) Blockade the entrance with a couple of garbage trucks to stop reinforcements and stock up like crazy on machine gun ammo and body armour. 3.) Remember that there's a game outside that mission and embarrassingly drive into the ocean for the one hundredth time without saving.
Your kazoo cover of the soundtrack highlights how ridiculous the modern internet has become because of the greedy music industry - being someone who spends a lot of time enjoying music (you could call me an audiophile) I get really sad every time I get reminded of this. Though your hilariously genius way of dealing with this issue actually did make it a little bit less painful. So thank you!
In the originals defense regarding aim controls, Halo was the first game to really popularize that control scheme but it didn't really get picked up by others until around 2004-5
Thank you so much for covering Vice CIty. Yes, San Andreas is probably my favourite GTA game but Vice City has its own special place in my heart. FIrst, I've played it on PS2, then later bought it for PC too and had so much fun with it. As you said, community of the game is amazing and I loved checking out all of those weird versions. Everything about the game was perfect but as you said, first versions were the best. Unfortunately, Rockstar made the definitive edition for the sake of doing it. Because we all know they can do much better than what is in front of us.
My favorite memory of GTA vice is that it is the only gta game where you can earn money by being a good citizen by punching person that police is chacing. Never tried any console versions, just PC.
Here's a great request for this format: Do Ubisoft games from that Era (prince of Persia, splinter cell, even early assassin's creed). You'll get a solid dozen great informative videos our of that - plenty of weird versions. Like if you agree?
makes me feel super old that this came out 20 years ago already. I was 15 when it came out so technically too young to play it at the time but that did not stop me getting my hands on a copy!
Fun fact using a special gamepad app you can actually enable the keyboard while playing the OG Vice city mobile and this let's you use the cheats in the PC game
There's an unofficial Wii U port that has an unlocked framerate and it's 720p, but the source code was poorly optimized for the Wii U, so the game runs like it's Sonic Unleashed on PS3 where the framerate is all over the place, and there's a mission where you got to collect Coke, and it hardcrashed my Wii U, with random garbage text displaying on the screen alongside the iconic Wii (U) buzzing sound.
Man I love Vice city stories on the PSP, because it has a dark story about Vic Vance fighting along side his idiot brother Lance, build you’re own empire of gangs, earning money while you’re out on the town causing havoc, creating a gang war, awesome weapons, cool soundtrack, and most of all Phil Collins is in this game........but the only problem is, are the controls, driving a car is fine, but when it come to using shooting or using you’re melee weapon, it feels stiff. But other than that it’s awesome for a portable console.
My fav is Vice City and omg! The soundtrack was what I love flashbacks.... sorry Tony Hawk Pro Skater, you tried.... Also, the kazoo was amazing! should have kazoo'd moments video just for fun.
Wow what a perfect storm, I JUST found this channel, and I've been obsessing over the classic 3d GTA games, and am currently playing through vice city right now. Seriously man are you watching me?
it's kinda funny. I don't remember the soundtracks of the GTA3 trilogy at all because my friend and I always made custom playlists. we even added our own terrible radio DJ chatter inbetween.
srsly you made a goddamn good job on these video series😃I remember the GTA Trilogy was pretty good on PC, but the mini helicopter mission was terribly to control in vice city. You need a controller to pass that mission😔
It's funny that The best version of this game and the rest of the trilogy, are the unofficial ports, by modders for the PS vita. All the character model updates from the 10th anniversary versions, with the updated textures from the Xbox version, with the framerate options of the Pc version, and the skins and lighting of the PS2 version, with the full soundtrack restored with a couple of mods thrown in to iron out some bugs and glitches. That all that makes those the most full featured and smoothest of all the versions. Modders were able to fully reverse engineer GTA III and Vice City and used the Mobile port of San Andreas and fully upgraded it. Now if two modders were able to do this with limited resources, wth was Grove Street and Rockstar doing all this time? It doesn't help that the final build of these these versions came out neck in neck with the Definitive Edition, making Rockstar look even more incompetent. It's not official, but i'd rather take an unofficial port, where you can see the love and attention to detail from those porting it, on a console that is perfect for these games, then whatever the DE turned out to be.
Great video, subbed! Although regarding the Mac port I don't believe it's actually native - It's the windows version but with TransGaming's 'Cider' wrapper which works kind of like using WINE to run Windows games on Linux.
And as of today, the GTA Trilogy on macOS doesn't work with Catalina and higher due to the games being 32-bit Carbon software, and it seems that the developer's of this port license for the macOS version expired around the time that the infamous Definitive Edition was released.
My only memory of playing Vice City is starting the opening mission and no matter what I did, I'd fall through the map when I got a certain distance from the starting point.
So I only played Vice City for the first time in 2015. Didn't play much, maybe 5 or 6 hours. I came across the RC helicopter mission and finished it on my first try, didn't know it was an annoying problem until after I'd done it. Just got lucky, I guess.
What is the first song played on the radio for the Xbox version? I know what it is on the PS2 trying to see how many changes the original Xbox has made.
This might be framed as an obvious question, but is the Non-Definitive Edition PC version still available today? I think it's no longer on Steam and on the Rockstar Launcher instead and is the one you use for modding.
What i hate in the mobile version of Vice City is... The low draw distance (even if you had already set it to high in settings), cut songs from radio (glad it still can be fixed by replacing the mp3 files), and Tommy and the peds are still silent and not much talkative (like the PC version, but at least the PC version got a mod for it (it's called Ped Speech Patch) while the mobile ver. lacks that mod). The reason why i want Tommy and Peds to be more talkative because i love to hear Tommy angry quotes when he got busted (such as "ROSENBERG, GET HERE NOW !!!" or "FIRE, FIRE YOU PRICK ! FIRE !!") But overall, the best ver. of Vice City is PS2 and XBOX, cuz' the graphics looks good on PS2, while the car models looks impressive on the XBOX
It's cool that you talked about Vice City Stories. That game blows the original Vice City completely out of the water. Such a better game, all around. It really annoys me that Rockstar/Take 2 have never remastered and re-released Vice City Stories and Liberty City Stories for PC and modern consoles. It's like Rockstar and Take 2 like to pretend that these two games simply don't exist, and it makes no sense. As I already said: Vice City Stories is a much better game than Vice City, and Liberty City Stories is a much better game than GTA III. I would be ecstatic if these two games were re-released on PC and modern consoles.
