I always enjoy when David gives us an inside view of his systems.

5:28 - I was his IT Director. It gave me supreme sense of calm and relaxation, knowing that DA would print up his mindmaps for important meetings, vs relying on technology. There was a period where both of us went 100% paper for GTD systems. I also watched him create mindmaps on screen - really fast, and had various shortcuts programmed in. DA was also not attached to these mindmaps, After a conversation with me, if the mindmap wasn't needed, he would just delete it. What I've found is that when I review my notes, just the fact of reading something I jotted down, inspires a memory of details proving that "something must have been paying attention to the events" which has has now remembered details. Without that handwritten note -- nothing....

Because I've learned to touch type, typing on a keyboard has become a habit; therefore, typing something only takes a little cognitive load. So I can spend the rest of your time focusing on the meeting. Just as touch typing streamlines keyboard use, developing a habit of using pen and pencil can also enhance productivity. The key is to find the method that works best for you. Which option you go for can also depend on your accessibility needs. People with Dyslexia for example may struggle with handwriting so typing may well appeal to them.

I have a problem with placeholders. Do I add it to thinkingrock (my GTD system) or a spreadsheet/document ? "it" is new info and research that I want to do. I feel like I could add extra info and thoughts I have on a RU-vid video, much easier in a spreadsheet. Like a project document. Am I wrong? Should I create a sub project for every video? I can add notes to the actions. But after finishing the actions I lose sight of the notes, which might still contain relevant information. Or should I write a document with all the videos, thoughts, timestamps and create a link to that document in thinkingrock?

Well, the question was simple: how shall we process meeting minutes under GTD? But, David Allen's answers were useless.

Anybody who thinks he can get rid of paper needs to grow up a little bit 😅
