GTI Exhaust Install! +Unitronic Stage 2 Tune 

Just picked up a 2017 GTI Sport with the DSG for my wife. 49,000 miles. We love it! Trying to talk her into letting me modify it!

I thinks it’s crazy af how a day or two after I got my gti, I find this channel. It’s amazing how fate works sometimes

The AWE Touring catback (not the Track catback) paired with a catted downpipe does a great job of keeping it quiet until you really get on it. It looks similar to your Uni catback, but with a slightly larger mid-pipe muffler/resonator.

The Vibrant 17950 resonator is a good solution to the drone. Very big mod for people who put a turboback exhaust on MK7 GTIs

The GTI looks clean and sounds really nice but if you want it loud and soft when you want just get a valvetronic exhaust so you can open the valve when you want it to be loud or close the valves to make it softer : ) as well please do a TCU tune so you can have faster shifting times and it sounds really nice. I really enjoyed this video. Keep up with the nice videos.

Does anyone else miss when Cameron was the one doing most of the car work? I dont have anything against Randall but I remember watching the z build and it felt a lot like a couple friends hanging out but the new videos feel less like a group of friends having fun modifying cars and more like an experienced guy building a car and Cameron recording it

I did this install on the ground for my wifes MK7, the unitronic downpipe splits at the crossmember which makes life easy. The megan racing one i got was a nightmare to twist around the crossmember

love unitronic, pumped for stage 2 this week, I've done unitronic intercooler, tip intake, charge pipes and I wish I could've done the downpipe however I'm located in china so our models here have different exhaust sizing

Nice! On my 7R I went full out with a turboback (catted downpipe) and stage 2 with every single bolt-on known to man. With my current 7.5 GTI I plan to go straight to IS38 but on the stock downpipe. GIAC (and maybe others too) offer a stock downpipe IS38 tune. You still need all the other bolt-on's like freer flowing catback, intake, and intercooler, but I think it's rad you can get the IS38 now on a GTI with the stock downpipe.

I feel you on the after market downpipe with the stock catback. I'm not big on super droney sounding cars but the performace is always nice. If it's too lound somtimes it's too obnoxious. Something suttle but purs very nicely.

Does your flash tune allow for boost by gear? You can use this to limit wheel spin.

Just a quick note for people flashing their GTI: Leave the key fob in the car while it's flashing. I kept mine in my pocket and left while it was going, and the flash failed. Apparently the voltage drops when the accessories are on and the car detects no key in the vehicle..

now that's a proper-sounding car. You can hear the turbo spool pul pops and intake. SOOOO SICK

if anyone isn't getting a downpipe purely for soud reasons, on the stock cat-back it's a tiny weeny bit louder than stock cruising around, but still opens up nice on throttle :D

Unitronic: In order to go Stage 2, you need a downpipe, intake, car back, pully’s, spark plugs, ignition coils, big turbo, upgraded intake manifold, upgraded fuel tank, charge pipes, intercooler, rebuilt motor, etc. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 People, don’t follow these companies website like sheep following a democratic government official lol. The only thing you need for Stage 2 is an upgraded downpipe. They say get the other things because they want your sheep $$!!

I have full cts downpipe/exhaust to stock muffler on my mk6r stage 2+ apr and it’s only loud at warm up and perfect noise level for someone who doesn’t want a loud exhaust 24/7

The dsg just makes it sound so slow lol. I know someone with same setup on a manual and his seems much faster. Hung with my 400bhp Volvo til about 75 and killed me off the line. Not saying it is slow just never sounds revved out, i like the way these sound even though I'm partial to my i5 turbo.

Nice videos!! I’ve been running uni stage 2, full bolt ons, and Downpipe. I held off on the exhaust, but after watching your video it sounds really good when they are paired! Also, is it okay to run the overrun file with a catted Downpipe? I had the overrun file, but have been reading on forums that running pops and bangs with a catted Downpipe is no good. I called Uni about this and they said their tune is safe with it. I was too nervous anyway and flashed it back to regular stage 2. Let me know your thoughts or knowledge on this!

I have been watching your Chanel since you had the Mazdaspeed3 love the content. I think when you do go is38 you need to go with Equilibrium Tuning that’s what I run on my Mk7 GTI and it is the best tune you can get on the market and you can run the accessport I am currently pushing 390whp and 400+wtq on a stage 2

I just got the same dp I’m gonna get a cold air intake and stage 2 tune as well can’t wait my tires aren’t super sticky though so kinda worried but hope it’s not the worst as I just bought the tires lol

I want a GTI so bad but I already own 2 cars with no covered parking for a 3rd car.

I have the same dp... its amazingggg only downside is that it gets A LOT quieter after you use it because it gets coated and broken into, so after like a week or two it starts to decrease in volume BUT it is still loud

I'm running effectively the same setup -- 2015 GTI DSG w/ a Unitronic Stage II tune (ECU & TCU) -- and love every bit of it. Also running the Unitronic carbon fiber intake, Unitronic turbo inlet, CTS Turbo downpipe (high-flow), and CTS Turbo catback exhaust. My wheels are Regen R35 rims wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber. GTI love for life!

Where you guys at in Phoenix? Looks like the road to Tortilla? I'm in north phoenix. I just got my first VW, a 2016 GTI. I had Goodspeed in Scottsdale flash the Uni stage 1 ECU and TCU tunes the third day I owned it lol. Wonder if I could get together with you and see what the stage 2 feels like to see if I want to go that route... I was thinking the stage 1 would be pretty close to the performance of my C6 but the C6 still feels quite a bit quicker.

Anybody modifying there gti and there worried about it being to loud shouldn't b modifying there gti. I got a mk6 gti with apr catted downpipe and awe touring exhaust, it's quite when I want and loud when u step on the gas. No drone it's great.

Please do eqt turbo you will Make 400 on stock fueling all you need is hpfp and inter cooler

Ok weird question. Over the summer I modified my 2018 GTI S (6 speed manual) a good amount. Anyway I put the Unitronic turbo back on and at this point all I had on was a sway bar wheels and tires. now bc the car wasn’t tuned my engine light was on but the car sounded amazing everytime I got on it. Like a really rich throaty sound. (Only bad part of the exhaust is drone on highway) after I put the APR Apex air intake and tune I feel like I have lost some noise but it’s not always.. if that makes sense. cold starts are amazing for the first few minutes sometimes after stopping and starting again it sounds good and rich but I feel like I never know now when Im gonna get that really rich noise under acceleration. The car always sounds good bc of exashur but sometimes it’s quieter sometimes it’s not as throaty and aggressive sounding. It can’t be the tune? And since tune I have new radiator new Unitronic Intercooler new aftermarket clutch. The car is running great I just kind of miss the way my exhaust sounded before either the tune or before the intake. (Intake gives me a lot of air noise in The Cabin and out of the cabin. I’m wondering if it’s only the air intake effecting that? Anyway any ideas would be appreciated. If it’s one adjustment I would make it. Thank you.

I’m super new to the mk7 platform and just bought one that already had a downpipe,front mount,intake, new coil pack, etc etc. so it seems like I need a stage 2 tune should I buy a Cobb? I’m assuming theprevious owner already flashed it. But I’m curious (once I get a Cobb) what I do with it lol

I have a catless downpipe and resonstor delete back to my stock muffler in my FoST and it sounds pretty good. Loud when on it, quite when cruising even at 75mph. Bet it would sounds pretty nice in the GTI too. It suits my lifestyle (tradesman here, so early morning cold starts) I just hate those weird ST exhaust tips.

I have a manual mk7 and the only thing holding me back from going stage 2 is a new clutch, the stock one is too weak to handle stage 2 power

I work in gravel with ramps and low profile jack and some stands and im a big guy i can make it under do most stuff

I have tcr exhaust I plan on keeping that with DP lol hope not too loud

people need to understand your CAR has a ecu which it will help with air to fuel ratio if you have added a downpipe, you dont need to buy their stage 2 or 1. thats just for added horsepower. oh bro you already have the IS38 turbo in your car. it comes standard in Mk7 and mk7.5.
