Thanks for the review, Mark. Its worth noting, that there is only one version of the PMS50 GTN750 - and that the premium features can be unlocked by purchasing either an annual subscription or a lieftime licence from PMS50, which then allows all the premium features to be unlocked by entering a code in the panel. This code only needs to be entered once, either on xbox or pc, and is then persisted to your xbox account so that both the panel variant shown here, the built in GTN 650 available as an option in this aircraft, and in any other aircraft which embeds the GTN750 such as (on xbox)many of the FSW aircrraft, the FSR Sting S4, other aircraft from the same developer as this one, and a few from other developers. My favourite premium feature is the ability to import simbrief flighplans - which goes dome way towards fillimg in for one of FS2020's most significant ommissions on xbox- namely the ability to import flight plans at all. One advantage of the panel over an embedded device is the ability to unload it after importing the flightplan... and on suitably equipped aircraft, continue to follow the plan on the built-in avionics without the overhead of having the panel loaded and consuming more of the very limited resources available on console. The ability to do this on almost any aircraft is to me a game changer for console pilots.
You're a legend, the Decathlon is a fantastic plane on its own... But having access to the GTN pop up has been a game changer for all of my flights. Having access to charts without having my laptop or tablet pulled out alone has been worth it.
Thanks for the video Mark: I had wondered what this Garmin addon offered for Xbox'ers. It has a few of the same capabilities as the wonderful GTNXi for PC MSFS.
This is a big game changer for xbox users. I have to mention that the GTN does actually have an Autopilot (AP) in its Utilities menu. The GTN's AP can be used as AP in most aircraft that don't have AP. Though as I have the premium version of the GTN 750, I'm not sure if this feature is available in the standard edition. Hopefully someone will be able to confirm this?
AP is available only in the premium version. But there is a premium preview every Thursday with PMS50's code on their website. And yes you have to own this plane to have the GTN750. I partnered with PMS50 to have this included in my product. So now Xbox users can enjoy what PC has had for years. Although it comes at a price, but you get the Super Decathlon with it. or Vice Versa...
I am on Xbox and have the GTN750 Premium version (from PMS50) plus a Navigraph Ultimate subscription. I have been through all the aircraft in my hangar to identify those that would benefit most from this new GTN750 panel :- Fouga Magister, Beechcraft Bonanza, FlyingIron Spitfire, Latecoere 631 & DeHavilland Beaver. I am particularly enjoying flying the Fouga Magister & Spitfire under AP (with SimBrief FP Import) - it opens up new possibilities as previously you couldn't take your hands off the yoke for very long! May be inauthentic but lots of fun all the same.
Can you recommend any tutorials on getting screen shots and videos onto my XBox-X to my external SSD ? Its formatted to NTFS but my pc then didnt recognise it? Using Y on controller appears to do something which the pc didnt see…. Or am I being to optimistic fir getting videis/photos off this for RU-vid? A PC being a better route. Or should I be using an Elgar 4k type video capture? Any info is appreciated. Laurie. NZ. 😊
@LWJCarroll I purchased an external ssd, formatted it to NTFS, and attempted to use it as the capture location. Whilst files did write to the drive, I found that every time the xbox was suspended, that it would not restore access to the ssd correctly, and would not longer be the capture location. In the end, I found the while process to be clunky and not well implemented, and instead switched to using one drive instead. There is a setting on xbox to enable automatic upload of all captures to one drive, and a basic 365 subscription which includes 100GB of one drive storage is available for £1.99 / month... and then you can either have the captures downloaded automatically on your computer, or manage the files (and create photo galleries etc.) using your browser. The only real limitation of this, is the restriction on the length of videos captured, which does require an external NTFS device to bypass. As to why your PC cannot recognise the external drive... that's probably beyond the scope of this channel to diagnose. Possibly the age / OS of your PC. Make sure you are plugging the drive into a USB 3 port (often blue) rather than a USB 2 port on your PC....
Really interesting but is it possible to create a flightplan in Simbrief, load this into the „App“ and follow the route?Like for example in the justflight arrow or A2A Comanche?
I have the JF Piper Warrior II and Tomahawk II plus the A2A Comanche. In all 3 planes it is now possible to import a FP from SimBrief (provided you have a Navigraph Ultimate subscription). In the two JF planes it is also possible to operate the AP via the GTN750 if you have the PMS50 Premium subscription. This is not possible however in the Comanche, I think due to its unique AP system. To now have the ability to import FPs from SimBrief in these planes is a big advance for those of us on Xbox.
