Homelander or Superman? (As if that's a question) Behind the scenes fact: Filmed this just a few days ago! It's the most recent video you'll see with the "present" me. Most others done months ago! 😂🙈 Got an awesome backlog for you guys! 😈
i dont mean to be off topic but does someone know a way to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost the account password. I love any tricks you can offer me
@Ricardo Aydin thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Nah, GT4 and Spyder look and handle significantly better without much difference in ride quality. I personally don’t know why anyone would bother with the GTS 4.0 models
Kerun Bindra Ratios are perfect with the PDK don‘t trust other people who say that it‘s not good they just have have not driven it. I had the 991.2 before and this is so much better in terms of Driving and Sound.
Kerun Bindra both great cars in each way. The Gts more like a little race car a Baby Gt3 for daily use. And the F Type with It‘s brutal Sound , but I think you will fall in love with the Gts
It has something to do with Taycan probably as well. Because they are accounted for overall fleet emissions as far as i know and Taycan helps to get them down

A few weeks ago I test drove a Cayman S. The handling was superb, it had excellent performance, and blew off the line with tremendous force when I did a l launch control. Two days ago I test drove a Boxer GTS 4.0, and when I floored it at the light, it felt like the launch control did with a Cayman S. The power delivery in the GTS 4.0 is so much more responsive than the S. It's almost like driving a different car. The GTS 4.0 ate up the bumps on a bumpy road road just like the Cayman S did, but the car is noticeably stiffer, even when the PASM is turned down. It's not uncomfortable. The GTS 4.0 sounds great too, just like a Porsche should.
Yeah, it is understandable to notice that stiffness difference as the GTS 4.0 is 30KG heavier than the S version due to the bigger NA engine. It’s great to see Porsche is actually “putting the work”in their products rather than simply swapping an bigger engine which most westerns favor. By increasing the weight overall, it’s important to stiffen the car and tune differently in order to keep the same balance, especially in a mid engine sports car which focuses on handling over pure power. I am glad Porsche did that, and that’s something I am not happy with BMW. The world-liking BMW M2 competition is 55KG more than the M2 due to the S55 engine, adding of cooling, and etc. However, they kept the exact same setup in terms of suspension, spring, and tunings. That’s why the competition is often slower than the normal M2 in some small and tight corners track (handles a bit more nervously). It’s only until the CS variant came out, that BMW did complete and supposed total improvement to the M2.
Nice review. I'm a diehard manual aficionado but totally agree with your assessment of the frustrating gearing. If 2nd topped out at 70-73 mph the car would be that much more enjoyable especially on the road.
Great review! My 981 Cayman S is an incredible car and I couldn’t imagine how much better the new car is. So jealous! It’s definitely on my list of wants
Simply superb! The fact you got Chris Harris on your channel shows how much you’ve achieved. He doesn’t pop up on any channel. Bravo!!! Keep up this amazing content......soon enough you’ll have 500k subs +. Well deserved.
Nice quality video apart from too many intrusive adds. Loved the review and the 4.0L GTS. I have always been a manual gearbox guy but that PDK is starting to appeal. My next Spyder might be a PDK 😎
Great review. I think I actually like the look of the GTS 4.0 better than the Spyder in Gentian Blue (the most beautiful color available). It just has cleaner lines and looks a little sportier. I really like those wheels, for me it's defiantly straight silver or the satin platinum you show here. I don't know to go PDK or manual. 6:05 Although the 718 Spyder also has 718 in it name, I'd at least like to have 4.0 to the end "718 Boxster GTS 4.0", could be shorted to just "Boxster GTS 4.0" I have honestly lost all desire for a 911 now, it is too big now, I don't like the new 992 interior, and the little GTS 4.0 is just so perfect. It is the true sports car in Porsche's lineup today.
I just asked for no badges or names on the car. I dont walk around with a name badge on myself. Although maybe in this modern world those that want to be identified as something specifically should.
Why are we supposed to accept corrupt and ideologue politician "forbidding" us to drive real cars with real gas engines. Who the bloody hell are these brain fart globalists representing? Do they speak for us? Screw them! Don't be just an obedient follower. Kick these bastards out of office and make your own rules.
Superb video and review. Thank you Raz! I prefer PDK over manual, shorter gearing is a big plus. What does she do in 2nd gear? Keep up the great work! Looking fwd to your backlog!!
Most complete review I've found. Great work. Agree that it's a shame they've done nothing to visually distinguish the GTS, particularly on the front end. But I can let that slide.
This is a tuner's dream. Large displacement engines sandbagged by manufacturers literally just a software tune from hundreds of horsepower. Sounds absolutely sick
I don’t think the 4.0L in the GTS has been sandbagged. The 2.5L & 2.0L Turbocharged engine is far more tuneable and more likely to have been sandbagged.
@@jryalls I was referring to the emissions outlook of larger bore NA engines with low output. Not talking about the specific engine in this car, which I don't think is sandbagged. It's just not designed to have the same output as the gt3 engine. Totally different architecture you're right.
This is an interesting model. They stuff a large flat six motor into the car and then market it. The trade offs are you have to wind up the motor to get adequate power out of it and of course those higher revs decrease engine life and fuel economy. The turbo motors on the other hand, have boatloads of torque in the mid-range and obviously you don't have to rev those particular motors very high. I myself have long ago adjusted to turbo motors and I like them quite a bit. In my youth, the cars all had to be rapped out for power. I don't miss those days at all.
Interesting take, first time I hear a positive perspective on turbos. Makes me think differently but for this purchase I would sill need the v6. For another beater car like a subaru i would appreciate it for the reason you mentioned here but for the boxster i feel it needs to be a v6 for the money youre spending
Trillions like and best comment for you because you are best on Earth and follower respect you,we need videos in FullHD ,4K,8K 120fps and Sound in FullHD 3D
For the mid life enthusiast. To get the first sports car, this gt4.0. C8, Roma? Which one would you recommend and 1 standout reason. Thanks. Great great job and awesome video. Loved it.
Incredibly interesting following the evolution of the automotive industry, specifically the sports car industry. Thank you for delving into the details!!
Thanks Raz, my 718 GTS is now 😢. Got my appointment with my local dealership before Christmas and will be asking them to make a few exceptions and get me into a GT4 with PDK. I have enjoyed my 718 but I now feel the next step is a GT4 with the NA and PDK. Might even pop a titanium exhaust on it. Nice vid bro
I´ve got a 718 Boxster 2.0T and I found it very quick from 100 to 180 km/h so I checked on Porsche Technical data, and the 2.0T is quicker than the 4.0 N.A. to recover from 100 to 180km/h and that´s the main use I have in the highway. Also the sound of the 2.0T although is not a flat 6, being a flat 4 is also rare and the exhaust seems to be more unrestricted in the 2.0T than the 4.0.
When I hear about the euro 7 standards I say welcome to 1975 US! In the 70s with the new EPA standards, the only engines that could meet those standards were the large displacement engines! So, you saw cars with sixes give way to big cubic inch engines (comparatively) such as the 350 Chevy replace the 6 cylinders available before. As the EPA administrator said at the time, when you force one standard you create unknown or unexpected issues somewhere else. Same happened with the catalytic converter - it did a great job reducing nox and CO, but it caused significant increases in CO2 and methane.
Thank you for the really great review. I would like to ask you a polite question. Do you think it is better to add (PASM) (Raised 10 mm) option to GTS car or not to add it?
Few seem to understand that the 2.5L Turbo engine produces peak torque at 1900 rpm and the 4L six at 4000 or higher, so until the six reaches 4000 it will be way behind the 4 On a test track flat yes it’ll make a lovely noise and there won’t be much difference, but for road driving the four will be a lot faster everywhere and I like the sound it makes being a 356 owner. I had a 718 and now have a 981S and am describing the difference. I like both, but I did find the silly comments about the turbo 4 absurd and misleading. Try before you buy.
So you conclude that pdk solves the long gear ratio problem that everybody pointed out?. I drove a manual test unit and got really deceived by the hugely long second gear. Thanks again for another superb video
Had an old 2008 6 cylinder Boxster S in Cobalt Blue like these. just 25K miles. Had to sell it, still, I had my mid life crisis car for 4 years and loved it ! Porsche cars - love them. Ah well back to bills and family . E, Texas USA. Everyone should own at least one Porsche !
+1. Subscribed a few months back ... wouldn't miss a review. Have a 2022 Cayman GTS 4.0 w/PDK ordered, waiting for the production slot confirmation. Our '98 Carrera S 993 will gain proper garage company. China can keep the 718 4cly range......
£66k is pretty good value when compared to 2016 GTS normally aspirated cars, or 2016 Spyders or the new 718 spyders and no silly allocations and limited runs. Porsche are genius at these cars.
@@MarcnessPower dont forget 20k+ cheaper lol ... i saw a BRAND NEW 2018 Boxster GTS being sold for 55k off the showroom floor in LA before we bought our used Boxster in 2019.
Good video but you keep getting the details wrong, second time: cylinder deactivation (which it calls adaptive cylinder control) when the engine isn’t working hard. Between 1600rpm and 2500rpm in the GTS (and from 1600rpm to 3000rpm in the GT4) and when torque demand is less than 74lb ft, fuel injection to one cylinder bank is switched off alternately with the other every 20 seconds. Switching between the banks keeps the catalytic converters up to temperature on both exhaust systems. Porsche says the strategy saves 11g/km of CO2 overall.
I wish you had covered the transmission in a bit more detail.. So is it dramatically better than the ratios in the manual? For example what speed do you shift from 2nd to 3rd. I was going to order a 718 Spyder but i am thinking a PDK 718 GTS is the better driving experience?
They will with the next gen. which doesn‘t come with that nice enginge. This Car isn‘t about new Interior from the 911, It‘s about driving and emotion.
Couldn’t express my feelings better about the difference between the flat 4 and this glorious 4.0 na flat 6 I received delivery two months ago of my first porsche ever a 718 cayman t what a disappointment and now I’m looking seriously into ordering the gts 4.0 instead 🤦🏼♂️
"It's so cold it could freeze the balls off a brass monkey.." got to love the English language.. ps. GTS on order.. but ultimately want a Spyder in gentian blue.. Great review!!
A nice and fun review no doubt. But how would you compare this to the 992 Carrera S PDK? A lot of car reviewers aren't being fairly open about the Cayman top trims compared to a 911. I am a 2021 992 owner and thinking of switching to a GTS 4.0 PDK or GT4 PDK or even the GT4 RS PDK. Please let me know which you would prefer.
I actually plan to get Cayman GTS 4.0 and eventually switch to 992 when it's a bit more affordable. What's your reasoning for going from 911 to Cayman?
Get a 981 Boxster S PDK/Chrono!! (2012 to 2016) It's exactly the same car (virtually)!!!!!! Fantastic 3.4 L 6 cylinder engine that screams to 7,800 revs. 0-60 4.2 secs, 0-100 10.4, 1/4 mile 12.7. The only differences are the lights (which are better on 981 than the 718); the rear black bar (once again, the 981 is better), the slight change in position of the internal air vents. The 6 cylinder 3.4L sounds better than this 4L. btw this 4L PDK will hit 60 in 3.3 secs, not 4. Porsche always advertise times of approximately 0.5 secs slower than actual. Also, check out the major US motoring magazine tests (there are several of them) to see results for performance results of Boxster PDKs (for some reason in the UK, it's nearly always the manuals that are properly tested and acceleration stats recorded.. which are clearly much slower than the PDKs.)
