Total ignorance of the changed paradigm artificial intelligence is going to force in the next decade. Sam Altman who is leading OpenAI, Elon and Google all are rapidly developing free thinking machines exponentially more intelligent than humans. How I typed the previous sentence for example,I can just put the first letter of the next word and I’m getting correct suggestions. In prior sentence following the word more, I typed “i” “t” and “h” for the last three words and got autocorrect suggestions immediately. UBI will be the only way for maybe 75,90% eventually 100% of the population to survive, if it does, following the great Artificial Intelligence, takeover of pretty much everything. The pace is advancing so rapidly and profit has become a motive way above safety. If we do survive into the next 10 years, without some dystopian event, how people live without jobs.? Sam Altman that by 2035 artificial intelligence will develop enough that they can give every US citizen $13,500 per year. While they make themselves trillionaires by the way. So yeah universal basic income is coming and not for the reason you’re telling everybody. Now, as far as sitting around playing video games all day, they have a solution for that too. They will placate everybody with virtual reality solutions that will enable human beings to be anywhere and experience anything from the comfort of their home. As far as the amount of the income, they got that figured out. You should listen to a few David Shapiro or videos. I know you’re a smart man educate yourself. Because you got this one totally wrong. Look how many companies are saying that they are now rethinking hiring or even starting new businesses or opening new plants because AI will be able to pretty much do everything whether it be creative or robotic which if you look at any Amazon warehouse you can see is taking place right now. They’ve got cops on wheels., mobile delivery, they want to use drones. Seems there is not a lot that you’ve been taking into consideration here. The reason they’re doing these experiments is because they know they’re gonna have to do something to enable people to live. So many more jobs will done without human beings. OpenAI is holding back the release of SORA because they believe people aren’t ready for it. Things are changing really fast. Realtor is going to be done as an occupation. Thanks to the Supreme Court. How will you survive with no income unless you have a lot of money sacked away. Profits are going to go through the roof and the people that have a ton of money now are gonna have a lot more.
One thing I argue which is screwing Americans in this changing economic climate would be our independent and individualistic attitude toward living quarters. If we bundled ourselves up into groups of 5 or 10 or were having larger families, we’d actually manage to have healthier finances. Of course I also think many Americans are less trustworthy than some immigrant who risked their life to migrate thousands of miles to get here and find employment
Too find how the country got the way it is, look to who runs the institutions that control the culture (the media & hollywood) and who controls the money (western central banks & the fed reserve).
In these uncertain times, it's more important than ever to have a solid understanding of how to manage your finances, invest wisely and navigate economic downturns. But my primary concern is how to grow my reserve of $240k which has been sitting duck since forever with zero to no gains, sure I'm all in on the long term game, but with my savings are lying waste to inflation and my portfolio losing gains everyday, I need a remedy.
If you need advice, consider speaking with a financial advisor. Don't get me wrong, you can do it on your own, but financial advisors have a lot more knowledge and expertise in this area.
you are completely right, Advisors have information and paths that are not disclosed to the public.. I profited £560k in 2022 under the tutelage of my Fiduciary-counselor. Am I selling? Absolutely not.. I am going to sit back and observe how this all plays out.
Well, there are a few out there who know what they are doing. I tried a few in the past years, but I’ve been with Melissa Terri Swayne for the last five years or so, and her returns have been pretty much amazing.
When I applied for my current apartment, I had to provide a list of items: 2 IDs, pay stubs, bank statements, letter from my employer which had to include how long I had been employed there, the prior year and current year tax returns, credit check, and an interview with the owner of the building and this was just to RENT a tiny, studio apartment. Those who are coming across the border won't even have to bother to fudge such documents because the landlords and lenders alike are probably going to ignore the requirements and grant them the loans anyway. I find the whole situation disgusting and yet another slap in face of American citizens.
You have a few things right with this comment. I agree with everything you have said EXCEPT... THE GOVERNMENT IS SCREWING THE LANDLORDS OVER AND NOW MAKING IT ILLEGAL TO ASK PEOPLE FOR THESE THINGS... SMH.. They have made it illegal to even look into people's backround and criminal history in some places.. 😢😢😢😢
But there is another side to the deal; it is so easy to evict undocumented migrants compared to a US citizen; just one call to DHS, and they will run. So it's a low risk. Also, for private loans - higher interest rates, and large downpayments, and those guys do not have large credit card debts. If they are deported a loaner will get a good foreclosure
The illegal immigrants are being subsidized by the US government and state governments. This is not by accident. If Biden wanted to close down the border, he would. The Democratic bases needs a new voter base and this is it.
That's the cost of the U.S. wanting to be the Police Man of the World. We are the World Military Superpower and if we have to reassess if that's the role we want to continue to play. I'm sure there are ways to cut way back on waste, fraud, and abuse as well as military bases all over the world.
if the US stops doing that, they lose their power projection hegemony. So I don't think this will ever stop, at least in the core of NATO. Everybody wants the EU as an ally / customer so if the US would remove all of that, somebody else will take it and that will become a threat to the US. The EU is the second economy of the world, so I don't see how that could happen all of a sudden. At any rate it would be a slow decoupling that would take a long time@@Resmith18SR

My dad worked in the military until he could retire, 21 yrs. He retired at age 38. Then he took a job that he worked until he was 65. He had a lifetime pension from the military, and his and my mom's medical care was all paid by the government until they died. They had Medicare and Tricare. That provided all their healthcare for life. When my dad retired he got SS as well. He and my mom lived on a modest pension of 2, 800 a month. That was the total amount. They had a small home, and my dad would buy a new car every 5 yrs. They were debt free. But they never ended up homeless. They budgeted their money and lived within their means.

US will go bankrupt because the govt thinks they have a never ending credit card.
When I was a struggling single parent I paid for EVERYTHING. I had a job as a Supervisor, but it was having to pay for a private sitter that pushed my budget to the edge. Then the woman who lived in front of me told me about a city run program to lower electrical costs. When I called to apply, I found out my salary was $2,000 above the poverty line. That really made me fume. I knew several single mothers on section 8, and lived in nice houses, food stamps. They didn’t work, and one was just gaming the system so she wouldn’t have to work. I was living in the back of a scary alley in a duplex, eating one meal a day trying to make ends meet. It was brutal.

It's not free. It's printed and borrowed by the federal reserve. It has to be paid back. We also pay debt on the over 32 Trillion dollar debt govt owes. I hear they borrow the money from China to pay that debt. So when China calls the debt to be paid in full, then China will own America. The politians are selling America to China.

All started with free money thus nobody wanted to work and make people lazy as getting paid more not to work thus when they had to go back to work they depanded way more to do bare minimum work.
They have studied this before. And found out you can not fix stupid. One person could have $1000 and be doing just fine. Another person could have $2000 and be broke all the time. The easier the money comes the less respect people have for it.

So your assumption is that normal, healthy people won't still want to be productive and work if their basic needs like adequate food and shelter are met? Read Maslow's hierarchy of needs.
I'm fine with universal basic income but it has to be everyone, we already pay more than enough taxes, this would allow me to see some of it at least benefit me - better than giving your 401k to hedge funds to play with till if you reach retirement age, and most people in the private sector do not have a pension ... you have to be a masochist to not want this

I don’t really feel sorry for anyone who paid the government and trusted what they said. When you see that money removed from your check, you must treat it like you’ll never see it again. It’s like insurance… A BIG SCAM! “Pay me now for something that _may_ happen tomorrow.”
Hello Michael: Thank you for this video sir. I just turned 70 years old but I've been disabled since 2004 & have never seen a dime in stimulus money or any giveaways in my life. Between food, pharmacy bills, doctors, physical therapy, brain therapy, etc there wasn't any room for vacations or luxurious travel except to the grocery store. I've never asked anyone or the government for a handout ever. I grew up poor & started cutting lawns or anything else to make money from the age of 7 years old. I've never been on welfare only my disability & Medicare. God Bless Michael to you & your family. TMP from N.J.
When my home was completely destroyed in Hurricane Ivan 2004, the FEMA inspector told me that I was white and male, so there was nothing they could do.
Throughout my life I've seen people in NJ take advantage of welfare programs, disability programs, section 8, and much more. There's even courses online where people teach one another how to game the system. All it does it burden the backs of people who have to work 1-2 jobs to then have their own income taken away in the form of more taxes. I know it's tough to get ahead in todays world, but this isn't the solution.
Is making money from RU-vid or playing, gambling on the Stock market, day trading, Crypto, not in some sense also gaining the system? What about Only Fans and Instagram models who make 6 figures or more a year just essentially making short porn videos of themselves gaining the system? I don't call that working for a living.

Then that will land you AND the new fisherman in jail.

UBI wont' work if it's just used to buy more things. It needs to be used in a way for the receiver to gain some skill, experience, certification, education that will aid them getting another job that will pay them more. Otherwise, they will go back to what they were after the money runs out. Giving money to help a person "learn how to fish" is what needs to happen.
The best Foreign buyer story I ever heard happened to a neighbor of mine five or six years ago. He got an offer on his home from a Chinese couple. As the closing date is coming up, he finds out they can't get a loan for the property. Well here's where it got interesting, they were living in Canada previously and moved to the U.S., due to a better job offer. They left Canada, owing a lot of taxes and Canada had a sizable tax lien on them. The banks wouldn't give them a mortgage, until they paid off the Canadian Tax lien. That was informative, knowing that U.S. banks, recognized the Canadian Tax Lien.
I remember the free money during COVID. I live across the street from a large apartment house in Springfield, VA, close to DC. During COVID, I often saw small, empty, booze bottles laying around on the sidewalk and near the curb when walking the dogs. Often they were smashed. I picked up whatever I could, because I didn't want the doggies walking on glass. After the end of the free money, I did not see them again. (I was retired. I remember two or three checks, which I frankly did not need.)
I’m a CPA - is you knew the depths of the fraud of the PPP Loans, it would blow your mind. I know “business owners” who made out like bandits on this, at the cost of your taxes.
I'm an enrolled agent. My theory is the Covid loans were a Trojan horse. I think there will come a day of reckoning when the doodoo hits the fan. Watch for the flood of audits on the ones that took the loans in the next couple years.
Government is not the answer. One, someone who has nothing to do with whatever they claim to be fixing, loses out. Two, they mostly enrich usurpers. Three, unintended consequences are more expensive than the entire affair in the FIRST place. Four, scarce resources are drained. Don't say "but *I want money." That's Communism.

I retired as a 20-yr mortgage lender from one of the largest banks in the country & we could not make a home loan to someone who was illegal or just had a TIN. You had to have specific visas for us to b able to make u a loan that we could keep in our portfolio or that was saleable to Fannie, Freddie or Ginny. We also checked to be sure the SSN u provided was yours & valid. There was a Hispanic credit union in our city that we heard would make u a portfolio loan with a TIN, but I’m not sure that was technically legal. If the illegal alien could pay cash for a home, perhaps he/she could buy a place that way. Bob S.
Yup I was hanging drywall with dad at 14. Started in 9th grade with a Schwab account buying Exxon,Oneok, and Walmart, and planing retirement at 18. People prefer living beyond means and not saving/investing nowadays. Retired now with no issues.
I have a nephew who's wife works (or I should say worked) for the county social services dept. in their area. She has a college degree in social welfare, or something like that. She finally quit because she just couldn't stand it anymore. The interviews she did everyday made her wonder where society is going. People lie, cheat, and whatever just to get free money and in most cases it works. Some applicants from eastern Europe and Asia and generally Hispanics are only on the gravy train for a short time and others work hard to just stay on the gravy train forever.
I used to work for social services; I remember one lady paid $8 a month for a subsidized apartment and got food stamps, while I lived in a studio, scrimped to get by and had a very high workload.
I commented before you got to the second story about the woman saying she has a disability. Don't get me started on the people that abuse the welfare system. Unfortunately my mother-in-law I think abuses it. She doesn't want to work full-time just so she can keep her benefits. Everyone talks about "just getting by", unfortunately it seems that that's all people really want or it's the "free" money that is causing this mindset. Welfare keeps people from reaching or even understanding their full potential.

The part of it is that the job itself and what it takes for you to keep doing the job makes you mentally ill and/or physically sick. It makes you just sick enough that you don't have the energy left to look for a better position. Now you can definitely get out but not if you believe the lie that your illnesses are yours. It's not all your fault or even mostly your fault. You had to pay the bills. You had to work. Now you're stuck. Now you're depressed and unhealthy. That job you do or multiple jobs you do 40+ hours a week has everything to with your current mental and physical health. Some jackass might tell you that you have to "take personal responsibility for your life choices" are some similar humiliating trash. Those are fighting words right there. It’s a lot to me because I have zero debt. That would be about six weeks or more of groceries for me and girlfriend if I didn’t have a well stocked walk in pantry and deep freezer.
Switzerland voted against a guaranteed basic income back in 2016. UBI might work with the right individuals using funds to improve themselves and others. Unfortunately, our woke society will inevitably come up with ways to divert the funds to the wrong individuals resulting it it failing to support itself and thus become another welfare program. 🤔
Even if these people don't have a job, they should have them picking up trash at local parks or washing police cars or doing something to contribute in order to get that basic income . Or better yet have some sort of EBT card that restricts what can be purchased.
EBT does have restrictions but people do sell their benefits. Would be great if tied to their ID somehow at point of use to curtail its abuse to buy other things.

When you give everyone a million dollars, a million dollars becomes the new zero. That may explain why I see so many people in Whole Foods who look like they don't speak English.
This is being talked about because of the huge financial pressure on the majority of American workers. The majority of jobs no longer pay a living wage and are unstable. Many Americans work full time plus gig "side hustles" and still don't earn enough to pay rent on a small apartment.
Hell I have been unemployed since April, 2022 thanks to the Fed raising the interest rates! I've applied for thousands of jobs and when they see that I'm from the mortgage industry I get rejection emails. I do update my resume that's how I know it's the mortgage wording 🙄

Here in Canada, the economy is in freefall and the government started to give out free money. Not much. But I can see it becoming universal basic income.
Universal income really means Latin America economy, where since i have memory since 1970 people make 350 Dollars per month, have the hardest time to own a house ( not concept of privacy or yard) and beg for education, medical care and decent public transportation and live a sad live and nobody says is middle class but identify as the poor / not car people. I actually agree with a certain level of UBI to provide for basic living expenses. Too many people are working hard just to survive rather than thrive. That isn’t a good situation that’s good for anyone or the government or the economy. So I think it makes sense.
Have you own plan, maybe start with moving to a state with low or no property tax and plenty of rain. . Buy or rent a spot of land for basic living and vegetable garden with a water well. Make sure the state you pick has a "bill of rights" similar to the U.S. one and has spelled out gun rights. I could go on, but hopefully you get the point.
If UBI is introduced the tax return will up. No need to raise tax rates, as economic activity will generate additional tax. You don't need to change rates for that to happen. A rising economy pays more tax unless you cut rates, and sometimes even if you do.

Would never happen. The Government can't cap wages in private companies. Hell, even the Federal Civilian jobs pay better than the same jobs in the community. What you are saying would never happen in the US. They system would have to change 100% and too many people at the top won't allow that.

It costs $22 for a fiveguys burger, small fries, small coke because of what they did to wages and they don't see that as a problem.. your never happen will happen because thats the direction we are going
Germany handles Unemployment that way Its much more efficient. Lets say a Company 10 employee in sales department and they need to lay off 50% instead of getting rid of 5 sales people you reduce all 10 by half so instead of working 40 hours you work 20 hours and benefits pay the missing wages until demand for whatever product/service your selling returns and some will find other employment easier because they havent been totally unemployed for months.
Throwing money at all these people is just throwing even more money after all the bad money. I know people at work that make decent money yet still get collection calls. And these people aren't even as bad as all these welfare do nothings and grifters.
