There are so many things in this movie that go SO HARD without having any right to, the line "There is no God, so I stepped up" is so insane, I love it.
I'm actually glad they used their one F-bomb on something so frivolous. Trying to use it on a dramatic scene would have made it obvious and just made it feel like "ooooo! We said a dirty woooord!" and made it feel pandering in a way. Casually throwing it in there made me laugh genuinely because I wasn't expecting it there.
Completely agree. Loved the heart of the story and the character chemistry is always a total joy to experience. I can see myself revisiting this in the same way I revisit The Fifth Element. Neither are masterpieces, but the passion and heart shines above everything, including its rough edges.
*You talking about the hallway fight scene* Wait there was a hallway fight scene? Dang. That must have been what I missed when my bladder forced me to leave. Luckily I got to see everything else.
About the f word: It reminds me of what Andor’s directors said about using it. During the last episode, Marva was meant to say “fuck the empire” instead of “fight the empire” but they thought it would be too cheesy I guess, also confusing as to why a disney movie is using it, so I think Guardians way was the best way of using it
