Vimes is a top contender for best character, especially because he appears alongside Vetinari and has an amazing supporting cast. Fred and Nobby alone are wonderful foils for his stories. But my favorite character by a narrow margin is Esme Weatherwax. Even without Gytha and Magrat, she shines. Read Equal Rites back to back with The Shepherd's Crown and tell me you didn't cry. Witches Abroad has my favorite line full stop, when Death asks Granny to find 'the one that is real.' Her response tells you everything you need to know about her.

Hi, Mouse. To forget aspects & details of a story is the special fun of revisiting a book or movie after years. Meeting characters again, is fun too. I think a valid definition of what a good story is - again experienceable. bonté

I'm currently dipping my toes into Discworld and starting with the Death series, thank you for making this series it's extremely helpful!

fuck! another short story I haven't read yet...there's also "Troll bridge" with Cohen the Barbarian and Detritus, I think, some troll anyway. I struggle to find any mention of the short stories. I don't know why they don't release the disc-world shorts as one book, it's almost like they don't want my money. I love the watch series there's a lot of character progression in those books, not only that they are a great for showing you how Arnk Morepork works it's a fascinating city.

is this a harder edition to find?
