Hi Amie, I think your reviews are the most accurate and enjoyable ones you can find on RU-vid! As fa as the Marmont is concerned, I absolutely love it: I think it's one of the most practical bags around these days; it's very light as you say and it holds a lot of stuff. I do not have the same concerns as you with the clasp and after 4 months of intense use the bag is still in very good conditions.

I completely agree about it being a classic trendy bag. I think that this style will always be popular as it is so simple, so whilst it may not hold it's resale value I think it will always be stylish. Also just want to say I appreciate the extra links to the other sizes and information you list... mini marmont here I come 😁 x

Thank you, Amie. I’m new to designer bags having just purchased a Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 with the bandoliere (at 51!). Now I’ve caught the designer bag “bug”! I do like the Chanel classic flap like many women, but I cannot justify the cost. I think the Gucci design, when compared to the Chanel, is somewhat “edgier” and bold, and is quite attractive to me for those reasons while it still embodies a classic vibe. I’ve enjoyed your videos and appreciate your perspective!

I understand the people commenting on the Marmont's tacky vibes, but the playful design is true to Gucci as a brand.. if you want a sophisticated and extremely classic version of this go for a Chanel bag instead

It's a beautiful bag. For its price range, it's gorgeous. It's not fair to compare it to Chanel, since it's a different price range. It's also not fair to compare it to cover girl or juicy couture as people have in the comments, since it's more upscale.

Thank you for the video! I have the same one and I LOVE it so much. I feel the design is a fresh look for Gucci and it was the stitching that got my attention - I think the heart is adorable. I was worried about the clasp but it's no problem and it's kept it's shape very well. It holds more than I expected and I think it's a versatile bag, casual to dressy. Also, don't care whether it's trendy or not...I really like the whole line and can't wait to get another style/color for Spring. Maybe in blush. 💞💕

Love the new setup, perfect view of the Chanel column ;) The Marmont flap looks like a fun bag, the busy uneven chevron quilting, secondary scallop quilting on the bottom front and the heart on the back contrasts sharply against the Dionysus' intimidating snake, sober florals and rigid shape. This Marmont bag looks to me like it has more fun in the disco than the actual disco bag.

I think the heart reminds me of juicy couture or Betsy Johnson and I think cheapens the look . I also am not crazy for the thing that comes down in the front. I agree with the person below who said it looks like underwear or something. It actually reminds me of the underside of crab tbh lol. The rest of it is good being that it looks like a Chanel meets saint Laurent. I'm so so on the emblem but do like the vintage treatment to it I can get over the heart on the back as it IS cute but I think the awkward thing coming down in the front... I can't get past it. To each their own!!! :)

Hahaha I was thinking the same thing with the Juicy or Betsey Johnson heart, too 'little girl cutesy' plus I feel it's too busy for the bag with the chevron, and the logo, and the heart, and the hardware, and the thing coming down the front - it's all just TOO much. (plus those two companies went bankrupt, does Gucci really want to be copying their styles..?) 😂😂

I didn't think I was going to like this bag but I went into Gucci with an open mind and fell in love with it the second I tried it on. I love the chevron design - it has a very "knight's armor" look to it. If the ladies in Games of Thrones carried handbags, the Gucci Marmont would be it hahaha! The clasp is quite tricky to close but there is a way to do it which requires a bit of fiddling - so it's just tedious but isn't an insurmountable problem. I love that it's light and is great carried on the shoulder or cross body. It definitely looks more young n edgy than a classic Chanel flap bag.

Loved the video! I have the GG Marmont flap bag in Black Velvet and the mini size-absolutely love it! I know a lot of people don't like the heart, but it's honestly one of the details that made me love it more! I can definitely see it becoming a classic someday, but I guess only time will tell :)

Oh I also just noticed the stitching .. it's more curved on the body but angular chevron on the flap. Ahhh. Now that I've seen it I can't unsee it and I think it doesn't mesh well. I'd like one or the other not both!

The new burgundy marmont bags of 2024 are leather lined and with a much more expensive finish. But still the same price as the ones with microfibre lining. I would be interested to hear what you think of this new version?

Loved this video as always! I like the fact that put forward your thoughts section wise so you cover any query one might possibly have about the bag in question. Plus you come across so genuine for somebody who has such an extensive collection of handbags. And that makes you so real and relatable. Would love to know your thoughts on the Gucci Dionysus. Since it looks like the flagship bag for Gucci at the moment.. as they have turned the heads back at them with the dionysus.. thanks! I actually wasn't that keen on the Dionysus at first - I thought the lines of it were a little too harsh. It's definitely grown on me though - now I absolutely love it, especially in the suede!

Exactly! It grows on you.. coz even the basic canvas and beige suede design is still edgy but classy. And since you've already spoken about the other two bags by gucci that have become popular the disco soho and marmont I thought of asking you about this one. It would be interesting to see if you actually go on and pick up that one. As for me.. i am definitely eyeing the large beige suede one and if i can get it.. it will be my first designer purchase.
