Guerilla Science put on a weekend-worth of programming at Symbiosis Gathering 2016 eradicating boundaries and re-acquainting festival-goers with the fun, excitement and relevance of science.
Events and workshops included:
Anatomical life drawing - "you get people in there for one thing, and then get them talking about something science-based"
Psychadelic data science
Drugs, sex and arachnids - "it's cool to see how many people turn up mid-day of a super hot festival to sit in a sweaty tent and hear about spider sex"
Sensory speed dating - "I've never been speed dating where someone smelt my armpit"
Battle of STDs - "I definitely enjoyed lunging into the vagina, heroically."
Science of tie-dye - "it was really nice to learn about where indigo actually comes from"
Emotional arcade - "I'm a competitive guy but I've never had to channel emotions for that competition"
Fire organ open-mic night - "I didn't expect it to be so responsive"
