Guess the Lesser Known Composer (Classical music Test) Part I (HARD) 

That was fun - I managed 11 despite never having heard of four of the composers on the list. One can sort of take educated guesses based on the periods and things though.

Can you put for the next video these composers? Ligetti, VillaLobos, Messiaen, Salieri, Pärt, Britten, Gluck, Leoncavallo?

I guessed only one, Waldteufel, because I had heard him before. All the other ones were totally unknown to me and I used the quiz to get impressions of new, interesting, composers. I wonder why they are not better known, it´s so beautiful music. Thanks!

Challenging, but very satisfying. 9/15. What if you played C. Ives first?

Completely missed the Ten Holt - never heard of him - sounds Dutch. With some I forgot the mane of the work but got the composer right by knowing the style I got the remainder correct by both composer and work. If I may mention though Dukas and Ives were very easy to guess - most know The Sorcerer's Apprentice from the Disney movie Fantasia and the Ives Variations on America is also well known. Had you picked different music by these composers it would have been more of a challenge. But thank you for finally giving Giazotto credit for that famous Adagio. Albinoni has long ago been rejected as its composer though Albinoni arr. Giazotto sells better than just Giazotto. Please keep these fun quizzes coming.

9/15, quite the challenge with these lesser known composers.

11/15 this time. I knew the Dukas and the Janacek, but all the rest were guesses based on the style and period, and how those fitted with the different composers. To be honest I think I was very lucky!

I knew 12 of the 15 composers by name (to my shame, I never before heard of Waldteufel, Ten Holt and not even Giazotto, despite knowing the Adagio g minor). That all said, my score here is really low: 6/15. So much for my supposedly deep knowledge of classical music. Must have been all Dunning-Kruger, lol

9/15, I would have 10 if I wasn't so defiant when I heard the clouds waltz (seriously, who could it be but Woodsdemon?)

10/15 - one or two "lucky" guesses. Some of the names i didn't know so I had no idea what era they were which didn't help :)

11/15 God that version of Asturias was an abomination! Next time use the original and not some blown up arrangement please. Great fun.

Hardest ever (7/15) why 15 was Giazotto? it was written by Albinoni ) and what does LESSER mean? Who is it?

Number 12 isn't by Tarrega at all, it was written by Nokia.
