A cable winch is all i use to bring the suspension forward enough if im only dealing with replacing the guide rod. Perfectly safe, easy and WAY less time consuming. Much respect to pierre!

It’s getting to the point now where you have to be careful which Lemforder parts you use. Historically that’s always been a good aftermarket brand to go with but lately it seems their quality has worsened.

Good to know, am doing a full nut and bolt restoration on a 1983 W123 wagon, with full under carriage rebuilt, going to be using some aftermarket bushings and suspension parts because some parts not available from Mercedes no more and to keep costs down

Pierre, your audio is clipping in and out at certain points in this video. Not sure if it's a new microphone or software, but you might want your producer to look into that. Example of what I'm' talking about is 1:00-1:15

On the W126 - Can you re-use the rubber pad that goes inside the cover plate which bolts to the bottom of the control rod? I didn't get new ones and the old ones seem fine other than they don't have as much resistance as brand new ones. What do those pads even do?

I got one of those spring compressors years ago to rebuild the front suspension, but in the end, I paid someone else to do the job. Those springs scare the hell out of me. I don’t even like to look at them, let alone touching them.
