I was an Avid Music Supporter and Musician Myself in Aul dayton Town in the 80s and 90s.Saw The First Incarnations of his Dream at the Building Lounge on 3rd st,and The seminal Brookwood Hall Show with The Obvious, and it was The Highwaymen's 1st Gig.Saw The Replacements again in 90 at Bogart's and Bob and his brother or Guitar Player walked up and watched the Show with Me.He Hipped Me to the Freddy Fender Cover They Encored with.Oh,He came to my Buddy Alex North's Keg Party as Well.I Miss dayton Back in Those Days.
I know! I was thinking Bob was going to retire with 007 to Motor Away forever set like "yours to keep" to "echoes". Dance of Gurus plus Motor Away has a double A side stomper appeal though.
@@RNorton86 I would actually die -- or hopefully just ascend straight to a paradise-esque afterlife (My Own Private Ohio, so to speak) without the messy business of dying first -- if a flight of fancy motivated Bob to stick King and Caroline back in the rotation... now THAT is Motor Away's true intro, imho.
Get on it, man. Lol. I'm kicking myself for only having seen 2 shows in 20 years of super fandom while bouncing around off market territories in south GA and upstate SC. Seriously though, get to a show. The sound is getting slightly better, but the videos will never translate the feeling of being surrounded by exuberant fans.
I'm so glad Bob is still performing. In circa 00 interviews, he expressed disinterest in touring and was pessimistic towards performing. Eyes would forever light for making albums, but the shows, meh. This second wind is magic. I hope to see them again by years end.
Heck, I just listened to an interview with Bob on YT that was recorded shortly before UtBUtS came out (he said it'd be called The Flying Party Has Arrived! I think?) and mentioned then that his hip was bothering him & that he planned on being able to continue on as a songwriter for a living long after his touring days were behind him. I have the feeling that was one hell of a run-on. 😅 Edit- I'm seeing them in October!
