This didn't work for me, because it was not sensible or healthy for me to drop the second suitcase, because some fears are healthy and necessary for survival. I thought courage was something held in the face of fear, not the absence of it. I'm still looking for help doing that, because dropping my fears, at the moment, would actually be detrimental to me. I've always believe in "feel the fear and do it anyway," not "leave your fears in the road and ignore them."

I joined your membership because you have been helpful to me and to so many other people. But this meditation on Courage does not work for some people; and what is even more frustrating is the fact that you do not aknowledge it and reply to those people who point out some of its' deficiencies. As for me, you don't owe me any apologies! You might do us all a benefit if you could reconsider the subject of Courage for a new and different meditation.

Both my suitcases tumbled dramatically down the road into the intersection and then were ran over by a bus lol. Good riddance!!!

I just used this meditation this morning because I was curious about it! It turned out to be the meditation about what I previously criticised with the comments below. You know, the suitcases! However, this morning I am not feeling critical about it. I am instead beginning to feel good about it! I am not surprized about that because I know that repeating some meditations can change my viewpoint about them! I'm sure you understand what I'm saying! Thanks once again for helping me and so many others. Have a great day!

The more I practice this medication, the more ot becomes significant and meaningful to me. Today, it brought back traumatic events that happened to me when I was a very small child, and the fact that you said I have no one to blame for it, not even myself. You said let go of the thoughts attached to feeling fear, and free yourself of all the insecurities, worries, lack of confidence, and anxieties associated with fear. I would love that to happen.....

Holding onto fear! This is the basis of feeling anxiety! My biggest worry is worrying about feelings of anxiety reoccurring again! Doesn't everybody feel fear at some time or other? What does it mean to be a fearless person? It means feeling the fear but letting go of it so that you overcome it and can react to any situation without anxiety, doubt, insecurity, helplessness, nervousness,etc. and all these things associated with fear! What wouldn't you do to free yourself of anxiety?

I don’t know if you the speaker has experienced trauma- I have and it clearly formed me and who I am both positive and negative. - trauma exists in our physical bodies not just our mind and thoughts.- it has taken me decades to become honest with myself about how deeply impacted I have been. Your meditation could set me up to slip back into denial a dangerous thing for me

Couldn’t haul suitcases over my head, way too heavy but I liked that I left them out by the curb where the powerful trash men come and quickly dispense with it - I liked your voice and enjoyed the long pauses without any bad or phony music. ; I still owe the trash blokes a nice tip.

It almost seems counter-intuitive that people can be without feelings of fear: do you REALLY mean that people can be totally without feeling fear? Or is not a normal protective emotion against real danger and courage really means experiencing fear but managing to accept the feeling and carry on despite it? An explanation would be enlightening by exactly what you are trying to teach in this meditation on courage!

I liked this meditation very much today because I was relaxed and attentive throughout the meditation and took notice that when you said let the mind go wherever it wants, it went to the very moment where I was sitting for this meditation. I believe that my mind never wandered during the entire meditation! Your help is greatly appreciated!

By repeating this meditation, the visualizations become more powerful and more deeply felt, so that the presence of courage overcoming fear becomes more real. Kudos to the Canadians! What a good neighbor you are! ADB,MD

I am reviewing at this time what you actually say during this meditatation and I can say that my comments were reactive based on old, previous beliefs and did not leave the space to reconsider another approach, a new way to think about courage....I really hope that it can work for me...My beef, my ire, was directed against you for not considering and then ANSWERING marcia doty comments with a empathetic reply!
