Guided Morning Routine - (Stoic Meditation at end)

This is a slightly modified version of my morning routine, it's designed to be listened to first thing in the morning as an alarm clock or just by pressing play. Bluetooth headphones recommended, or at least use your phone so you can move about the house.
I've struggled to maintain solid morning and evening routines for ages. Using this method I've had nearly 100% success for the last several months, I hope it helps other people too.
This routine is obviously not tailor made for you, we all have different goals and priorities, but focus on testing the process of using a recorded routine, does a recorded routine work for you? If it does, perhaps I can create more customized one in the future.
Order:
Start - 0:00
Get Dressed - 1:56
Bathroom - 4:00
Make your Bed - 9:13 (+Affirmations & Mindfulness)
Exercise - 11:23
Stretch - 13:51
Stoic Meditation - 17:23 (Planning, Mindfulness, Affirmations, Stoic Contemplation)

Hey everyone, the explanation behind these videos is here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Be1VIWUqyno.html Get Dressed - 1:56 Bathroom - 4:00 Make your Bed - 9:13 (+Affirmations & Mindfulness) Exercise - 11:23 Stretch - 13:51 Stoic Meditation - 17:23 (Planning, Mindfulness, Affirmations, Stoic Contemplation) Please let me know if you like these. I want to know if they work for other people too. (If they do then I'll likely offer them hosted as mp3s so they're easier to consume, but will wait for your feedback first)

I'm a recovering alcoholic 3 days sober now and I've been following this and the stoic teachings in general for about a week. It truly has made a massive difference in helping me get over that first hurdle, those crucial first days. And it is really nice to start my day with some energy as I've become so used to mornings being hell, thanks your channel is awesome.

for whatever its worth, Kava kava is a nice alcohol replacement . I periodically quit drinking and cycle in Kava drinks at night. The problem a lot of people will have with alcohol is balance and moderation. All or nothing thinking seems to lead people into benders. Good luck.

This has helped me get out of bed in the morning and can influence the rest of my day. I'll write and record my own half hour routine to fit my needs. Just a few minutes of exercise daily does make a huge difference in how we feel emotionally and if you're as old as me use it or lose it isn't a joke.

This was really fantastic! I'm not a morning person, now that I'm semi-retired morning routines have gone out the window! This is really great for helping me get done in a short period of time, what I need to get done. Meditation/routine or not, an invaluable general point that was made here will really help me: to find what one already has one within oneself to deal with a situation. Most "self-help" and philosophical approaches to daily life often suggest trying to apply a technique or learn a technique. I've actually never heard anyone suggest looking within for one's own strengths/virtues (even though - or especially because -we might not always be aware that we have them).

Review: I've been using this video every morning for the past month and I can honestly say that it has really helped me become focused and ready for the day. I started listening to the video during finals week for school and I was able to plan and get all my shit done for school + extra work. I've also been attempting to practice stoicism in my life, so it's a perfect way to begin the day. Thank you so much for making this video! Could you make an evening routine specifically for stoicism??

Day 4 of doing the routine. I did not want to do it today, but I managed to push past that and went through the motions. I feel much better and more present. Day 5 of doing the routine. Today was much easier than yesterday. I really enjoy how little thought I have to put into this, as it's all been layed out for me. I'm a forth of the way to reaching my goal, which is 20 days straight. This is a great start for my journey with stoicism. Day 6 of doing the routine. I was not able to complete the routine, but I started it, so I'm counting that as a win Day 7 of the routine. There was a bit of a crisis in my home today so I felt more defeated going into it, but having one thing in my life under control really helps. Day 8 of doing the routine. Was the first thing I thought to do when I got up, it went very smoothly. Day 9 of doing the routine. Not looking forward to today, but I'm glad I'm almost halfway to my goal Day 10 of doing the routine. Day 11 of doing the routine. Day 12 of doing the routine. I didn't fully finish, but I started it, so I'm proud of me. Day 13 of doing the routine Day 14 of doing the routine Day 15 of doing the routine Day 16 Day 17 Day 18 Day 19 Day 20

It is great to start my day with this, but when something unexpected happened, I find myself wishing I had someone to guide me again through my thinking processes of accepting and overcoming the unexpected situations. I go back to this video sometimes, but wish there was another guided meditation that focuses only on the meditations.

I decided I would get up at 5.00am every morning instead of crashing out after a week I was going to bed every night and totally crashing out till 5.00am it changed my life. I was functioning to full capacity and getting so much more done in those early morning hours. Ive got a good morning routine.. I wake up without alarm, whenever the hell I feel like it, usually 4:30am sometimes 3:30am sometimes 5:30am... But the first thing I do is 100 situps. I just roll out of bed and go. Ive been doing this for 4 years now without missing a day except when I had covid. The next thing I do is go for a 3-8 mile walk or run while it's still dark and there are no people to distract me. When I get back, I cook some oats drink tea and muddle around checking emails, reading statements, playing guitar, meditating, or journaling as I please. What I do and it works for me, is I keep my expectations of myself super low and meet them regularly, but I stay consistent with my constant but low level challenges. This avoids burnout.

Hey there, I've been following your channel for just a few days and I love the stoic meditation part of the morning routine. I have been creating my own routine (i make my bed right after my feet hit the floor, dress after time in the bathroom, and exercise directly after my morning cup of tea, and then go to my garden for an hour before returning to my desk for work). I try to wake at 5 or 6 daily on weekdays or weekends. And the change is amazing... I front load my day when my mind is fresh and the productivity skyrockets. I've only been practicing stoicism as a trial for a month or so, but it has transformed my life. Thank you for this content. Would you consider doing a video of strictly the meditation part?

Hi Robin, this is very good. Perhaps for the next one you could break the video into parts so that we can choose the bit we need. For example, I don't have any problem getting up. Best wishes, John

I'd just slide getting dressed down between stretch and meditation. I seldom sleep in the nude lol. Will give it a try. Thank you for all of your content. It's been making quite a difference since I came across it.

I think of my dear Father who was a man or Orfer and discipline which I fall so short in. I will think of him looking over my shoulder RIP

I have never thought a guided routine would get me to do the things I've been putting off. Thank you sir. It really cleared my mind and gave me clarity in what I am doing.

Open the browser (not the app!) on the phone you use and search for this video. (This is needed to copy the link of the video, since you can't do this on the app) Once copied, search for "RU-vid to MP3" in google. Now paste the link to the youtube video you just copied and it will do the rest. Now that you have the audio for this video downloaded on the phone in an MP3 file, go to settings. Now under alarm settings choose the MP3 file as custom alarm sound and its done. This may vary from phone to phone but this is how i would do it

I modified this a little as I usually have a bath in the morning. When you say get dressed, I begin running the bath, then I do all of the morning tasks, like stretching and exercise and by the time I am to the stoic meditiation the bath is run, so I do that in the bath, then wash my hair and get dressed. On the days I don't have a bath I still get dressed at the same time, simply for the sake of routine. I should mention my shower is broken, or I'd have a quick shower instead.
