It never fails... when they start playing the old Josh & Reva background music, I start getting tears in my eyes. They pulled out a fantastic final episode.
I cried and cried and cried so much more when Guiding Light ended! I used to watch it with my Mom then it pasted down to my eldest daughter up to the end! :-(
I'm a guy, but my great-grand mother watched this show, my grand mother watched it and my mom watched it. I can remember watching this specific episode in particular as well as many others.
Sadly, the day that we've all been dreading September 18,2009 has arrived. "Guiding Light" aired its last episode today. I'm really sad to see it end !!!!
I would love to see all the reruns starting from 1990 until it went off or before Alan Michael was Born or Michelle I loved Guilding Light and missed alot of episode's when I Worked Second Shift back then didn't record so if any Channel would start I loved to see from the 80's until the Show was Cancelled
I recorded this show every day and hated when other shows (like baseball or court tv) ran. The show was funny, emotional, creative and so many talented actors. I still (on 5-26-21) miss this show so much. I couldn't wait to get home from work to watch it.
OHHHHH MYYYYYY GAWD!!!! JOSH AND REVA ended up together!!! YESSSSS LAWD!!!! I'm happy but they really should have tied up the Jeffrey/Edmund storyline.
I agree. Reva thinks Jefferey is not coming back. But he is very much alive. If they did a reboot, Reva would have two husbands. That’s assuming that Reva and Josh marries a fourth time.
I am the most happiest camper ever!! JOSH AND REVA, (ROBERT AND KIM), you have no idea how you've touched our live throughout the years. Showing the good and bad, and GOD knows there were the bad moments, I can honestly say that you two have entertained us and we can actually walk away having learned a thing or two about...LOVE!! LOVE YOU GUYS AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR FUTURES!!
Well good for you!! LHerbert83, you know what's going to be great. When he is old enough to understand, he can be very proud of the fact that he was a part of TV History and that so many amazing African American Actors got their start on this very same show. Nia Long, Sharon Leal, Billy Dee Williams, Taye Diggs, Angela Bassett, Ruby Dee, James Earl Jones, Billy Dee Williams, Giancarlo Esposito, and Jesse L. Martin.
As for those who think Kim Zimmer gained weight, three kids and time can do this. But if we believe theses two belonged together then love doesn't care about looks .
@@sheiladavis6523 Her eldest Dylan is by Billy that she had at 16 but she kept it quiet for many years. Shane and Marah are by Josh, while Jonathan is by Richard Winslow (RIP), then Colin is by Jeffrey O'Neil
I love that James's signature kissing stance is to cup Daisy's face before kissing her, as if he wants their lips/each other to get as close as possible, as if every time he kisses her, it's like they haven't kisses in forever. You really feel the passion and love expressed in their kisses.
@@baconbap I now right. I told UK Soap Fans about SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome) and they were in stitches. The "Kids" on UK TV actually Grow up. Letita Dean who has been playing Sharon Watts on Eastenders beginning in 1985 at the age of 17 that she's been playing on and off and is still on the Show. Then there's Adam Woodyat who debuted at 16 who took some time off from the Show but nobody knows if he's returning.
I love the end but I did and always will want daisy and rafe together. They was great together and I always thought that the love they shared was that life time love.
Someone posted a comment on another clip about the younger generation on GL and I have to agree they never did any good for the show. The last group that were enjoyable was the Jonathan, Lizzie generation.
Uncle Stavros was so funny when he got all the high-ended women drunk and acting funny on oozo (hope I spelled the Greek drink correctly). Reva and Roger and everyone else were so good at their roles and I felt like they were real and not acting. Always interesting!
I thought this was this PERFECT ending! So what if they didn't tie EVERY storyline up in a nice red bow! Then it wouldn't seem as real. And, who CARES about Jeffrey!!!!! The important thing is that Reva and Josh are together!!! Irna Phillips is looking down smiling from that great big typewriter in the sky! :)
Lots of people cared about Jeffrey. Ending him that way sucked. He should've been brought home for Reva, the only man that truly loved and accepted her was Jeffrey.
Also when Phillip and Rick reunited in Florida, and Rick says "Come To Papa", that was the "Name" that his Grandfather Bill called his Great Grandfather Frederick.
They should have stuck with their storylines from late 80s and early 90s. When they actually involved characters that appealed to ALL age groups...young and old. Heck, I was addicted to Roger Thorpe at the age of 8.
Me and my GF thought the same thing! Really...what the heck is Jeffrey doing forever? Chasing Edmund for eternity? I got a GREAT laugh through the tears though. During that AMAZING Josh/Reva scene in front of the Lighthouse, I imagined how random & hilarious it would be to see Jeffrey chasing Edmund down the street, shooting & yelling, as Reva & Josh stood oblivious looking lovingly into each other's eyes. OMG...That would have been hilarious..to me anyway! lmao!!!
@@sheiladavis6523 all I remember is they wrote Kyle off show. Briefly Kyle was married to maeve I believe. I love Kyle and reva . They were a fantastic couple! Great story and chemistry. I read the history. It says Kyle was in a coma out of town off screen and his fate was never revealed.
Please pray for Kim Zimmer who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer several months ago. Ironic her character Reva had Cancer on the show as well. In The UK Sally Dyvenor (Sally Metcalfe) on Coronation Street had Cancer on the show and in real life. Her daughter Phoebe is on Bridgerton.
@EjamiFan123 Nope, they pretended we didn't notice the baby bump most of the last year while Bizzie was "trying." They finally announced she was pregnant with HB IV in the flashforward, so it's the 1st Bizzie baby. I think after trying to hide and downplay it all year they just really went to town in those shots. You're right, she looks huge. She's really had her real life healthy baby by the way just saw photos in SOD. Too cute!
Im glad everyone has a happy ending, and Im glad Reva and Josh reunited. The one thing im disappointed with is how they jump to one year later and reva never found out that Jeffrey is still alive and that Jonathan knows about it but never told her. Jeffrie loves his son, Edmund or no Edmund, so how can the writers keep him away from his son?
what if sonni, olivia and cassie hadn’t cheated on josh? what if kyle hadn't harassed maeve incessantly or jeffrey hadn’t "died" or gone m.i.a ? would josh and reva ever have found their way back to each other? as impractical as this may sound, i always resented the fact that these soulmates often reunited because of external circumstances ending their previous relationships and not because they flat out missed/loved each other and had to be together no matter what. that always bugged me. "ALWAYS"! 😍
I never watched GL, but wanted to see how it ended for some reason. It was good. That 30 something guy with the lavender polo shirt & longish hair looks like Johnny Zacchara on GH.. Anyone know his name?
These writers should have just had Jeffrey and Cassie reunite. Of course as a viewer am guessing based on the history history of Jeffrey/Cassie/Edmund drama from years back he probably left to make sure she was safe from Edmund. Pretty stupid the direction they took putting him with Reva just to write a shoddy exit. 🤦🏾♀️
So were Phillip and Beth married at this point? It fast forwarded a year and they did get engaged; Beth is wearing a diamond ring on her left hand, but Phillip isn't wearing a ring. I'm just wondering because I loved them together but don't know if they actually got married again.
From the recap it said yes phillip and Beth were married. Rick and mindy were to marry the next day. Would have been nice if it could have shown a brief clip of Rick/mindy marrying. Oh well overall great ending!
The James/Daisy relationship is still squicky - he's her half-brother for crying out loud! OK, not biologically ... and their 12 year age difference has apparently been erased ... but still! Aside from that, I loved the ending.
Still bitter they left Jeffrey hanging in the wind. Total BS for Jeffrey fans, just to rush some half-baked Reva & Josh reunion. Jeffrey should've been brought home to reunite with Reva and their son! Reva was with the man that accepted her for who she was, a free spirit. That wasn't Josh and Josh certainly shouldn't have been left to father Colin.
