I did a vanilla playthrough recently and there are no mandatory Mursaat fights before infusion. The design of several missions suggests the devs didn't intend for you to always complete the bonus objectives first try. For example, there is a crazy number of healers preventing low levels (with no heroes) from completing the Frost Gate bonus. The healers have a huge "aggro" distance when their allies are attacked so you end up fighting 4 at once.
I'd bet back in the day when gw1 launched... there were plenty of people playing so there's always people playing gw1 missions as well as pvp. I know factions made it explode but still.. no hard mode and everyone was only in proph. Likely if anyone wanted the frost gate mission bonus, they can simply co-op in a player party than rock it with henchies.
If I’m not mistaken, they’ve changed the bonus for Thunderhead Keep. Played through it last week and you don’t have to defend the dwarves anymore. You literally just light a few beacons and the mission plays out as normal. You get the bonus for doing nothing. Really simple, the mission just takes forever
For anyone else doing this be careful when you kill the engineers on the ships, if you are too close you can end up glitched inside of the ship with no way out (except maybe if you have some kind of shadow step skill). I'm not sure if you could get out that way, I was stuck inside of it (the first one, although it could probably happen on either one) and then had to restart the mission. *This can also happen on places in other missions with levers, you or one of your heroes can get stuck behind a lever that's up on a pedestal thing with no way to get out, maybe we'll get to see that in the next video :p

I miss the southern Shiverpeaks. Way back when, I was playing an ele, going for mist form, and an Icy Dragon Sword dropped from an ice imp. I made a warrior to use it and never looked back.
You telling me you don't know you can skip the entire mursaat group in the end? Just wait till they pass and follow them. They eventually will all die bc of the catapults. This was common sense a long time ago. :)
I used to run a fairly tidy 10plat a run for up to two people at a time through THK in proph. Going back through it with heroes and flagging makes it seem so different.
Thoughts on a Nightfall ironman? Rules: Must start in Nightfall. Cannot use henchmen. You can only use Heroes. Skills still need to be acquired yourself. All other ironman rules otherwise. I think we take henchmen for granted. They have working builds and weapons that evolve as they level. Plus, since we only get 5 heroes until Kourna, we'll be understocked unless we party up with other players. I think it'll be difficult for a while up until we can get a full party of 8, but the constant struggle of trying to kit your heroes will always be there. Would love to hear what you (all) think!
You need to unlock Dragonslash in Cantha and combine it with "For Great Justice" (assuming the skill still doubles you adrenaline gain) and Tiger Stance. All are warrior skills
I did with henchmen - the entire prophecies campaign. I skipped the bonus objective for this mission, though. You can follow the mursaat until they try to go through the catapult, where they will die.
Please use flail or frenzy, in a game where health is restored so easily then healthy is just mana and you can easily triple your DPS at the cost of a little risk or health. And if your worried about run speed keep sprint and use it to change stances after flail for movement.
