Honestly, a pretty crazy aspect of this game that wasn't really mentioned is the air movement. Usually, using airdash removes double jump and vice versa, but here you can use both without touching the ground! Is that not crazy?
Absolutely amazing work as usual, if this doesn't help you get into Missing Link, I don't know what will. Thank you for the excellent video, loved the edit work and hope the upcoming Fightcade PSX implementation will see the ML community thrive!
Missing Link is what really introduced me to fighting games that weren't street fighter and ignited the love for fighting games I still feel today. Dr. Baldhead (and Faust) will always hold a special place in my heart for the eternal impression of guilty gear they gave me when I first selected them on the portraitless training mode selection screen.
Same for me. I always liked fgs, but ML cemented them as my fav genre. It also made GG my fav series of all time, and is also the reason why i am a metalhead. Too bad Strive sucks, and basically turned me away from fgs, to the point I no longer run tournaments in my country, lol.
@@FA-nd9ukboy, are you folded that Strive is less monkey action filled?, or that Sin and Happy Chaos exist? I dont say that its bad that you dislike Strive tho, just wanna ask your extreme dislike for it.
@@soundwave2825 imperial ray is insanely minus past midscreen except on hit against standing opponents, leaving her open to infinite punishments, and gamma ray is 60 frame startup so good players just interrupt it most of the time
Missing Link will be forever my fav FG of all time, I started playing it on 1999, and played it all days with my brother. Is actually what cemented fgs as my fav type of games, and GG being my fav series, with the exception of Strive. Fuck that pos. Also is the reason why I became a metalhead.
"The dash bug adds running momentum to special moves. It's done by doing a special and ending it wit a dash" Wait It's fking prototype enhancer for naoto in blazblue :)
Powerful. The more I learn about this game the more I wish I was born early enough to play it lmao. It'd be funny as fuck making my brother mad with some of this heinous jank.
I've not even finished watching the video yet but the editing is incredibly beautiful and the explanations clear. Congrats on the video!! It deserves much more views than it has!!
As a player of Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S: Jougai Rantou?! Shuyaku Soudatsusen (released 1994 for the Nintendo Super Famicom), I must say Missing Link, which does many of the same things (except more and louder), really puts that game's balance and jank into perspective. If Sailor Moon S crimes are children shoplifting candy, Missing Link crimes are carpet-bombing civilians. (And yes, I'm aware of Sailor Moon S as effectively a proto-Arcsys game.) It's definitely interesting on an academic level but IDK if I would want to try and take it even a little seriously. I don't trust myself to get past layer 1 of the meta, a.k.a. "can you consistently break IKs on reaction so you don't lose the entire match off one read/guess?".
Insanely in-depth as expected from you Mib, amazing work! 👏 Missing Link was my first GG and I loved it as a kid, but funnily enough I never went back to it. Guess I'll have to give it a shot now with all this new knowledge.
But you will soon know that this Kusoge isn't even fun due to unfun mechanics that break the whole game. Not to mention, Axl isn't even fun to play due to op characters
@tabkg5802 sorry for snapping. But a zoner is a long ranged Fighter who can control space and can also rushdown, meanwhile keepaway is specifically meant to keep their opponents at bay by frustrating them with projectiles but struggle to rushdown and are more meant to use hit n run strategy or turtling (Edit: depends on the character's archetype)
Hey more ML content, you'll love to see it. That being said, Ky's K buttons are extremely good. They're fast, combos into themselves and stun dipper and are fairly quite safe on block (correct me otherwise). Anyway, great video, loving this content about GG.
The range on 5k and 2k for how much they can be chained is okay but the move that holds him together outside of obviously the ik is his close s for infinite combos,it's his best cc move on hit and is a very lax infinite, also stun dipper has combo trouble and is outclassed by just doing close s as a Gatling, his only special that isn't held back by game mechanics is stun edge which is plenty good enough
>She can perform absurdly easy time scams, bs mixups straight from mahvel, and has an one frame overhead that is also a grab...She is pretty honest GG ML everyone
@@eduardojose981 the overhead is more like 30 frames, it's not very good lol. Mixups aren't super important in ML to begin with but Baiken's are especially bad
