The cages were rank in size! Also was there a boy among those babies as she didn't check during the video! If there was he needed to be taken from his mum because he will without doubt have impregnated his mother at three weeks old! The Guinea pigs were cute and they are going to fight as there isn't enough room in the cages and two boars or more in one cage that get along as babies it may not be the case as they grow up 👆 the child does not know what she is doing it is a recipe for disaster l totally agree 👍 with what you have said ♥

I know this is an old video but do not feed your guinea pigs pellets with colored treats and seeds in them! Feed your guinea pigs plain pellets, pellets with colored treats are unhealthy for your pigs.
we already had 2 males and we were trying to sell them but then my sister decided to get more for her bday and when she got them they told us they were bonded brothers. when she got home with them one was big so we did some research and 5 minutes later we found out one was a pregnant female and she gave birth this morning around 1-6 am. and yesterday was my sisters bday. we got them like 5-7 days ago
I never knew my Guinea pig as a baby. He has not reached maturity but he is very small. He is smaller than my palm. And I'm a kid. He has a GIANT head and a little body. Like these babies. So cute!!
My Peruvian is prob just a yr & some mths. My other one is prob older just by some mths. But my peruvian def feels smaller in weight . My Axl 😍🤗, little guy is mostly hair. And his hair def flys around when he's popcorning. Haven't had him long but I think he's coming around. Slowly but surely. I just don't wanna make Whiskers feel insecure. Neither of them.
@@saitama6112 They require high maintenance. You need to ensure they're getting an endless supply of hay and enough vegetables. You have to know which vegetables are safe (and, important as well, in what capacity). You have to clean their living space frequently, and you need a lot of room for it. This video is superficially cute, but I couldn't enjoy it. The cage is too small, the mother was alone before having babies-social animals need friends!-the owner left a bunch of strawberries around, meaning potentially too much sugar-they should be treats only-for one piggy, especially the babies, who are smaller. They were also careless with how they held the babies. They could have fallen. Edit: Guinea pigs lack depth perception, so falling is a significant concern! Their spines are very fragile. The combination of a tiny cage and an apparent lack of adequate cleaning could result in illness, both physical and mental (i.e., depression). All in all, do some research before getting piggies! It's more complicated than most people think.
When she purr you need to stop she dont like it is her way to telling you stop you tickle me ...The purr sound is use to to show dominance too ,if she like it she will do happy moaning not purring...
"Purring" starts as pups when they go to nurse. It's usually followed by the mom cleaning their bums to encourage pooping. You'll eventually hear the pup purring on it's own when it raises it's rear and flares it's perineal sac. If it's rump is near the mom's face, she'll often brush against it's rear and it'll pop the rear up if it's not already. Purring that's similar to a rumble, as an adult sow, can mean dominance, but it's a situational purr. Usually the dominant sow will purr and walk low near someone that's out of line, to assert her dominance or remind the other one of her dominance. This is NOT the same as rumble strutting when they are in heat and trying to mount another sow, which is done in the absence of a boar where they emulate a boar's behavior. This emulation, often wrongly dismissed as a "strong season", is an actual attempt on her part to alert a potential boar nearby (whether one is actually near or not doesn't matter; if in the wild, it'd be the boar for the herd of sows that's not paying attention to her at the moment) that she's not only in heat and ready to be mounted then and there, but it can fool an overly dominant boar that a "rival" boar is invading his harem. Usually, that boar would immediately investigate the "faux" boar/sow and immediately mount her, which is what she wants. This type of role reversal is seen quite often in herds of sows w/o a boar. IF a boar is in with them, they don't do it. As far petting their rumps, "purring" seems to be a left over of their early pup days. Rump petting can also be a signal they are about to be mounted, as a boar will usually sniff then nudge it's nose against the grain of the fur on the rump, which is the last clue they get before he mounts them. The kicking, jumping, etc., is what they'd actually do to discourage the mounting (along with peeing straight back to dissuade the mounting) if not in heat and their window to mount has NOT occurred yet. That's why some act that way when getting petted on the rump. Boars can act in a similar fashion when getting a rump petting. Although in some cases they react similar a dog getting it's "hot spot" on the back scratched. The boar might purr, might run around the cage rumbling, expose it's belly area by twisting to the side (a mother would clean them as a pup if doing this, so another carry over possibly), etc.. "Purring" is also done as a response to a strange sound. Make a strange sound, watch a movie with odd music or sound effects, and you might hear your guinea pig "purr". FWIW, I have many guinea pigs that purr, and some that don't. None seem to have an actual issue with it. One purrs almost non-stop while just holding her in a hand. Very young sows might whine/complain a bit as they might think YOU are trying to mount them. And if they are NOT in heat, the reaction would be the same for an overly eager boar.
@Pigs and Pipes They nurse starting day 1 and can nurse up to around week 4 if the mom allows it, and sometimes later. Their poop is soft and runny early on, and eventually hardens. When the mom cleans/licks their bums, they urinate and defecate. Purring will start around the 1st week when they go into to nurse. I've had over 20 newborn pups and I pay attention. Go back and re-read before making posts.
Be careful when feeding guinea pigs broccoli if you feed broccoli too much or too often it cold cause bloat. Also your cage seems to be a little to small for four guinea pigs to be living in.
