lol who made you the authority on amazing pop...? And if you like Sia and Sohn I can't see why you wouldn't at least like Rihanna's Anti album. Have a listen to James Joint, Consideration, Love on the Brain. I admittedly hadn't been super into a lot of Rihanna's previous music but Anti is one of my favourite albums of 2016

In a recent workshop he actually mentioned some jazz players as his influence (Jimmy Herring, Kurt Rosenwinkel). So I guess, we can differentiate between idols in his early years as a guitarist and influences in his later years as a composer.

Wow, I think Tobin made a dream guitar that looks exactly like what he was describing. Kudos to ibanez for working so hard with a guy with so many odd design demands. Very rare a big brand like this would be willing to spend time or money to do with this any guitarists, much less a dude that isn't quite as establish as the old guard quite yet, in a time where it seems electronic/hip hop music has definitely taken over much of the interests in music these days more than before

i actually like the look of this guitar, & the well thought out details & ergonomics, but still wouldn't pay for a signature model just because it's a signature. of course, i'll see what the price is; my concern could be moot. i would still probably recut that top horn/hump to a different shape, though. and glad to see a new album finally forthcoming. november should be a good month- meshuggah live & a new aal album, and that's just the beginning. great video, gc.

I cant play guitars without a bevel on the strumming arm side. Guitars without them feel in the way. if that makes any sense.

Do any of his guitars have a trem system? I know their music is more rhythm based but a whammy bar is such an essential expressive tool for any type of hard rock or metal. It would be cool because their 7th and 8th strings start to enter the range of a bass guitar and very few basses have whammy bars.
