Yeah, if it doesn't sound right, something's off with tuning. Another example is The B-52s' Rock Lobster; it's in a weird tuning in the first place (CFxxFF [middle 2 strings are omitted,]) but then it's in 444 hz. And then he used weird string gauges that have uneven tension. Edit - Corrected my "bass strings" error that I thought was correct.

megadeth use this tuning aa well Im not sure its entirely intentionaly I think the pitch shifts when they speed up or slow down the recording.

Could you explain me this tuning? Im playing around 2 years but I know only simple chords, tunings etc...

@@samuelbartusek1567 if you have a tuner, set it to 428hz, then tune to just regular e standard. OR just play along to a live recording of the song.

@@samuelbartusek1567 The strings are tuned differently. 428 Hz isn't a whole note lower than standard E tuning at 440, but it's lower by maybe half a note. Using a clip-on tuner that you can adjust from 420 - 460 HZ (and then tuning to regular tuning, but according to the now adjusted lower or higher number) is how to pinpoint these odd tunings. I have to do this for some Flat Duo Jets songs, Dexter sometimes had his guitar tuned in a lower E Standard tuning; it was often anywhere from 430 to 437 Hz, depending on the recording. If you hear a song that sounds a little bit lower in tuning or higher in tuning and you just can't get it down in E Standard or even in Eb, this is probably the reason why; it's at some in-between point.

I'm not sure what the amp settings were, probably just volume 8-10 and whatever EQ sounded good. I have lots of mixing settings after the amp. And yes, Johnny played all his A-shape barre chords with a bass note added on the low E string

For more popular Ramones songs, I often get copyright blocked and have to file a dispute with RU-vid for fair use of the song, and get the video un-blocked before making it public. The reality is that RU-vid doesn't care about guitar covers, their bots are only really trying to block people from uploading a copy of the original song on its own. I've also noticed the video is less likely to get blocked in the first place if the guitar is loud enough in the mix. My guitar is quite loud in these videos, but I think it feels less extreme when the playing and tone is very similar to the record.
