Guitar Hero DLC - "Afterlife" Expert Guitar 100% FC (752,600) 

I really love the violin at the 1/2 way mark of Afterlife along with Matt’s and Jimmy’s vocals going back and forth. Legendary song by a legendary band (in my honest opinion).

Little did James Sullivan know that this song would describe his life a matter of years later. R.I.P. The Rev 1981-2009.

Also, I like the detail of the drummer and the vocalist singing just before the solo starts, it comes similar to how the actual song was sung.

POV: You're playing RB2 quickplay with 3 randos in 2008. The only other DLC song you all share is Snow ((Hey Oh)). If GH's original run lasted longer there would've been another A7X pack I'm sure.

The Afterlife solo has always been one of my personal favourite solos to play. It's something I can just about FC on my level and it feels so satisfying if I make it.

Avenged Sevenfold's magnum opus, and believe me, that's not from a lack of other excellent songs to choose from, this song is absolutely killer.

i like how the game has the drummer do the back up vocals and jimmys vocals too since jimmy was their drummer and back up vocalist a nice attention to detail…also how is axel getting to lars the stage aint built for that

This has been a Rock Band staple amongst my friends since 2009. The solo here is definitely undercharted but it looks more fun to play.

Damn two amazing tracks packs back to back! Avenged Sevenfold defines my taste in music during the 2000s. Little attention to detail I love is the drummer singing back ups much like the Rev in the actual song. Rock Band has limitations where harmonies are set to Guitar by default and Bass if there’s a third mic. So it’s cool to see the drummer getting some back up vocal action.

I so love this chart compared to the RB one. Im a sucker for chords but the solo not being whatever it is in RB is just so good, RB is just one of the weirdest patterns that honestly i don't know many songs that have something similar, and its kinda rapid, i know its kinda dumb to complain about a song being hard but i think its warranted here. Not to mention that its undertiered, on RB1 its tier 7/9, RB2 has it on 4 dots [5/7] and only in RB3 was it placed as 5 dots, which for that Solo alone i think its still low.

Call it guilty pleasure or something, but I like this chart a bit more than the RB one. I don't know, I just feel like suddenly I enjoy this one more with chords (although trying to get more points from glitching the extended sustains still is not too fun (at least they were patched in Clone Hero)), and yeah ironically, the solo here is also easier (then again, GH5's solo chart of Twilight Of The Thunder God, if we don't count the slider notes, was also easier than RB4's)

Whoever charted this is seriously obsessed with 3-note chords, they're just all over the place! But they at least made the solo easier than how it's charted in RB2 (4:31). Also, why is 4:14 charted as chords?? Notes: GH5 - 1,506 / RB2 - 1,556

Okay, this chart is so bad that I almost forgot that I had it from Rock Band Track Pack Volume 2. 0:24 Why on Earth are these chords? It's two different guitarists performing different sets of single notes which harmonise. That would be like charting "The Trooper" by Iron Maiden's intro HOPOs as chords... Or even the HOPO trills in the main lick. The chugging in sections such as 0:42 and 3:12 should be single notes, as they are palm muted power chords. And holy shit. The amount of unnecessary 3-note chords is giving me "Before I Forget" flashbacks. Whoever charts for Guitar Hero basically thinks "oh this chord sounds pretty heavy. 3-note that shit". A chart that absolutely gets me in how dumb it is is GH5's "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Kurt plays the exact same chords on the guitar from the intro to the verse, but as soon as he turns the amp distortion on, the charter thought "okay these are no longer 2-note chords and are now 3-note chords". 3-note chords should be saved for musically interesting chords, such as diminished 7th chords, sus2 chords, slash chords, etc. Perhaps 3-note chords could be acceptable for major and minor barre chords played acoustically if the song primarily uses electric guitar power chords. That would have made some of the more classic rock songs more interesting to play, such as GH:WT's "Hotel California" or RB3's "Walk of Life", as they would present a new challenge.

Been a while since I got back into AV7X. They feel like the modern Metallica, since all other Five Finger Death Punch songs sound alike. Unpopular opinion, I know.

There isn't really a part of this song I don't like. Even the violin is nice to listen to. Glad this song made it to Guitar Hero

Day 279 with the start of the Avenged sevenfold pack

Just a few notes I have. One, I used to like this song a LOT. It aimed big and the additional strings really worked for me. It's just a shame it came from A7X so the singing is still atrocious. And two, I know this joke's been made a lot already, but for all those people who've clamored for this band to have their own game, guess what? An equivalent already exists. It's called RB2 online quickplay with randoms, in which you're trapped just playing A7X songs.
