Well if you're listening on headphones it's pretty easy since the two parts play at different volumes in each ear, like you are standing between the two guitarists.
I love how Tom Morello starts playing, like trying to impress with his style and your character like trying to copy his way to play and then the battery starts and you start playing like doing your best in YOUR style...

The fun thing about this is that, beyond what he's playing on guitar (which is exceptional) the amount he's playing with his pedals throughout all of these different tracks is insane. I would kill to see if he could actually do this live in one take.
Probably not, considering some of what he's doing also requires him to stand in front of his amp and use the feedback. It would be a serious athletic feat for him to go back and forth while also doing a pedal board tap dance. And just setting up his pedal board in front of his amp wouldn't work because that level of feedback would actually mess up other effects. Sorry to be that guy, but i just don't see it.

Damn shame that such a talented musician left this world too soon. I grew up as a teenager with Soundgarden, later followed him in Audioslave, his solo work, and got to see him perform with Soundgarden (Nine Inch Nails too, same concert) and it was amazing.
I was 8 years old rock meter in yellow is I played and played my fingers hurt from the aching pain that was Tom Morello, that last part was me trying to get my hopes up as I saw the notes come at me knowing I was losing... good times

I'll never forget the first time I got to the Tom Morello battle in GH III. I hadn't really read the manual or did any of the tutorials as I had managed to get pretty good on GH I and II, so I had no clue that the game had the battles. When Tom Morello came out, it was on of the biggest WTF moments I ever had playing a game. Even though I crashed and burned miserably, it was one of the coolest moments I ever experienced playing a game.
I loved rage against the machine but when first played this game and saw tom morello my only thought was "Who the fuck is this old geezer" *Gets to bulls on parade after beating him* OH THAT'S WHO HE IS!
Ngl this song sounds like the guitarists are sitting down in a truck bed just over the wheel wells playing this while rolling down the highway with the drummer being in a trailer being pulled along behind the truck

+Zander The Vampire Hunter It's not that hard actually, the true secret to beating Tommy is to use either your left forearm to strum and hit the notes with your left two fingers on your axe like in Through the Fire and Flames or do what Morello does by crossing your right hand(he uses his left) over and jiggle the strum tab and play the notes with your left hand and build your combo before 1:40
Lefty Flip is the worst one for me. I’m trying to get used to it though. Difficulty Up is the 2nd worst one when I play on medium. (Still a noob at GH, only beat one song on Hard.)
That's why I loved it! Tom just does stuff that you would never dare think it was a guitar until you actually see him playing it. He defies all convention of what guitar effects are.
I just realized, this battle and the one with Lou are engrained in my head. I just saw the recommended Slash battle and it kinda unlocked in my brain, and STILL I can't remember how it was... Off to nostalgia lane I guess
