I'm an old man so I got see Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer, Pantera, and Sepultura live in what I consider some of their best tours. Marty Friedman and Dimebag Darrell of course were standouts.
Nah man, the fact that Jeff Waters and Luca Turilli are on the list... best list! THANKS!🍉 My favourites are, Zakk, Luca, Loomis, Waters, Impellitteri and Romeo. edit: check out George Bellas, the song airborne, brutal!
Chuck Schuldiner, Doug Aldrich, Richie Kotzen, Zakk Wylde and Dimebag Darrell are my favorites. Also Janick Gers, Jerry Cantrell, James Murphy and Trey Azaghthoth are worth to mention. Cheers!
All the Shrapnel super guitar heroes player included in this list.. Ron Thal, Frank fambale, Greg Howe, Shawn Lane, Pablo gilberto, Darren householder, Andy timmons, John Petrucci, etc.. so many still.. Lol
its a shame he almost completely stopped practising guitar after a while apart from playing on stage etc and with all of the drinking just became sloppier and sloppier player over the years. He actually got better at it again during some of his final years when he mentioned he picked up practising again. What a tragedy great player gone too soon
Didn't expect Alexi Laiho, Axel Rudi Pell and Luca Turilli in part 1! Three I hope to see in future parts: André Olbrich, Timo Tolkki and Roland Grapow.
0:06 Me too. The internet saved the 90s for me. I was never into grunge, Pantera, or numetal. The 90s weren't looking good for me metal-wise until I got online for the first time. I then started finding all the underground (to me) bands that I never would have known about otherwise.
yeah, metal went away just as I discovered it. But I was just a kid I didn't fully understand the nuances between guns n roses, nirvana or metallica. :)
I should be on this list! My "Air Guitar" technique is impeccable! And my style... flawless! 🤨😁 Great vid broham! Been away awhile, just catching up! 🤘🤘🤘👍
Mike Weed of Mercy ,Hexenhaus , Momento Mori, and Mercyful Fate . He also had written the instrumental track Black Candles that appeared on Candlemass - Nightfall
In retrospect, the 90's were amazing as far as rock and metal goes. It's just back then people couldn't stop talking about how dead it was and how everyone and their dog had "sold out"... Compared to current day it was a really lively scene with great albums and fantastic live performances. The amount of love and sweat that went into an album in those days is beyond compare, now the very concept of a complete album is basically dead. The 90's ruled and brought metal to the mainstream like never before...
Lots of killer players and lots more for episode 2. I want you to give Jon Schaffer his due. Partly because he's a hell of a guitar player, and partly to watch the recreationally offended lose their shit. Looking forward to some love for the guys from In Flames, too. And Kirk Fucking Windstein from Crowbar!
There aren't nearly enough power metal guitar heroes here. Jon Schaffer, Kai Hansen, Henjo Richter, Andre Olbiach, Roland Grapow, Rolf Kasparek, Kiko Lourero, hell even Emppu from Nightwish (Oceanborn came out in 1998)
Hey great vid but shredding is not whats its all about. I dint think doug aldridge or Petrucci should be in the list. Sbake sabo , scotty hill abd definately cris de Garmo should have been mebtioned if you ask me. Anybody can shred. Creating awesome music is whats hard. Cheers mate
John Petrucci - the only guitarist that I hear - that illustrates any real musical ability! Shedding is irritating - if not performed flawlessly - wankers go home!
Never liked these flashy diddledidledooo shreders, so my 90s favorites were John Perez (Solitude Aeturnus), Gaz Jennings (Cathedral), Euronymous (Mayhem), Rich Walker (Solstice), Trey Azagthoth (Morbid Angel), Mike Scalzi (Slough Feg, Hammers Of Misfortune), Oscar Dronjak (Hammerfall), Marty Friedman (Megadeth)... strange you forgot Marty Friedman, he was definitely a huge "guitar hero" back in the day.
For 2000s guitar legends I voted for Herman Li from DragonForce satchel from Steel panther Johnny Nesta from Skullfist Hizaki from Versailles Adam Zaars from enforcer Pata and Hide from X Japan and syu from galneryus For the second part of the '90s guitarist I voted for Pata and Hide from X Japan Tim Kelly from Slaughter Andreas kisser from Sepultura
I don't like 90s because Nirvana and all stupid music related to Nirvana like Korn or Limp Bizkit but this video shows that there was lots of good music in 90s.
Jeff waters and Annihilator so underrated. like i commented a few months back he should been here and he is in the list. awesome 🤘. chuck schuldiner and Trey azagoth i hope they made the cut
