One of life's great mysteries: Not one but two crappy old department store catalog guitars with no adjustable intonation nor even compensated bridges still play in seemingly perfect tune.

You *can* adjust the intonation. Loosen the screw holding down the rosewood bridge and then slide it forwards or backwards & also change the angle. It intonates better than the wraparound bridge/tailpiece Gibson used on various models in the ‘50s.

Thien Di Pham they make strat sized tube pickups, they’re actually a little shorter than these to fit into a standard pick guard.

Second video playing "Shakin' All Over" by Johnny Kidd and The Pirates. Here's some FYI: The famous riff on the original recording was played by legendary London session musician, Joe Moretti.

Takes me back; I saw Johnny Kidd & the Pirates in 1964, when they were part of a Joe Brown tour. Fwiw, also appearing were the Crystals, Manfred Mann (who backed the Crystals: hardly a 'wall of sound' but they tried) and 'Just Like Eddie' Heinz.

@chris k Wow, I've had sellers remorse but, wow. Thanks for the reply. Like I mentioned above, a neighbor where I used to live had one. 'Even though he had a Marshall 1959 and Vox Buckingham on home made 4x12's in his living room (bachelor life ;) the AIC was always babied. Heck, I wanted to hear a MXR Distortion + thru it. He turned me onto this pedal back in '82 when I first moved there. He was like 'nope'. Probably right.

I've always liked the sound of the Lipstick pick-ups, and fitted to these Sear's specials makes no difference, they still sound great!! Can't wait to see what next week may have in store? Will Todd return to the drums? Will Michael don a curly, blonde middle of the back length wig and realize he looks a whole lot like a certain Mr. Plant from that really heavy balloon band? Will there actually be a bass next week something fun like a Bass 8 or even duelling Bass VI's? Stay tuned GOTD fans, same "Edible" time, same "At Night" channel!!

Rocking! I have a Dano U1 repro and a Dano Jimmy Page style short horn repro. i believe they are technically semi-hollow guitars. Gotta save on the poplar. Tequila!
