I saw Whitey Morgan in a small venue in San Francisco back in 2014 and Cody Jinks opened for him. Now Whitey Morgan is opening for Cody Jinks. Whitey Morgan is awesome and everyone should check his music out if you have not done so yet.

What makes hits hits? What gets puffed becomes hits, real talent like Monte Montgomery is usually only known locally, sometimes they break-out with a cult following like Kelly Joe Phelps, but usually they don't they get HUGE unless "puffed".

The new Cody Jinks album Change the Game is astoundingly Great...Dude is Jason Isbell level songwriter ..

My current song that I can not get enough of is "Oh Sarah": Sturgill Simpson on "Charlie Rose". Best version of that song and just amazing music.
