I found this song right when my wife and I were going through a very, very rough patch in our marriage. I was sitting on my deck and played this song about 10 times and cried harder each time. I wanted to shut it off but I kept hitting repeat. It was cathartic to just be able to empty my mind, heart and soul for that brief moment in time. It was this line that got me: "I dreamt I'd take you with me. And you'd say you forgive me, and we'd live out some easy ancient song" I have a tough time listening to this song, even today...but I do. And I love it. And it makes me remember who I need to be.

Real stuff, Michael. Real stuff. Again (I told you yesterday), thanks for reigniting the spark.

Ive watched a ton of your videos and i cant believe you havent done a turnpike troubadours song yet. just pick one any of them. whichever one has been requested. The songwriting is filled with little details and is on par/better than any of the texas/red dirt/americana songs youve done.
