I Live in the North Lake Tahoe Ca, I have had a chance to see these guys several times, Unbelievable Live Show!!!!!! Top notch musicians and all around cool dudes.... GUITARFISH....
@@Guitargate I subscribe to a lot of guitar-based channels and yours quickly ran to the top for me. I love your reactions and the fact that you smile a lot when you listen. Your enthusiasm rocks!
This guitar player not only eats and drinks every detail of the original, he lives and breathes his own super tasteful embellishments. Kudos! Loved the flourishes on piano too...
The entire live stream of Dark Side was wonderful and the winner out of a competition of fan requested albums for them to cover. Main Squeeze has another one of their live streams coming up this Sunday (Dec 13) for those want to check it out! They're an amazing live band.
If you read this, Michael, congratulations on the progress your channel has made. I’ve really enjoyed it! Once I’m done with my bachelors I hope I’ll have enough time to properly enroll into your online guitar courses.
Honestly, only here watching your video because I long to see the look on other people's faces when they see this band. I have made the same observations. The way they handle covers keeping the phrases that are essential to the structure of the composition and what makes it good but using their own tone and twists to be original. It's beyond perfect technique, masterful production as well as communication. The band is always right in the groove, you can hear each member of the band acting in real time and their relationships. It's a kind of beautiful conversation. I love The Main Squeeze, I'm glad you do too. They're my favorite band alive.
Wow - that's a hard send right there. Great cover. I remember my roommates and I cutting our afternoon classes at university in '73 to go and pick up 'The Dark Side of the Moon' and then listening to it endlessly.
This was a awsome job covering the song, The Main Squeeze is awesome and has got my attention! Michael thank you for sharing this one! I saw Pink Floyd in 1972 at the Music Hall in Houston which was suppose to have perfect accoustics and was 13 rows from stage, best concert of my life and this brings back memories. Thank you!
Thank You Main Squeeze and Thank you Michael!! I’m a 66 yo classic rock drummer & Pink Floyd lover...... seeing anything they do makes me just want to know them and carry their gear for them...!!!! I discovered them a year or so ago playing Have A Cigar..... and started searching for more.....and the the song that totally blew me away was “War Pigs” ..... I bet I’ve listened to them do it a hundred times..... and then..... I found “ No Quarter”..... Oh my God!! They don’t just cover..... their performances are technically correct .... yet they still making the song their own!! I truly love these guys! I can’t wait to be able to see them when we can take the world off pause........
It’s genius to have the sax do the vocal climax.... it’s like a secret pathway back into the emotions you felt on first hearing the song years again. He’s also a sick, sick man. Some of those runs as he was getting into it were just magic.
I've seen them 30-40 times over the last 10 years... been homies with them since they moved to Chicago from University of Indiana. They are INCREDIBLE. They never disappoint.
ANY COLOUR YOU LIKE my favorite song on Dark Side Of The Moon. However, My favorite part is the church organ transition from Brain Damage to Eclipse. 10 seconds of pure ecstasy!
I don’t know if this fits REACT criteria, but the Eagles ‘One of These Nights’ has always been an exciting arrangement for me. This Pink Floyd cover woke me up! Loved it!
I first found The Main Squeeze on TikTok, and they’re so rad. They jam out in their house and they have so much fun playing. They constantly remind me why I love making music. I’d love to see them live too!
Specifically the live one on Spotify, the official video they put up is also awesome, but the live one has a superior guitar solo imo, and explicit lyrics instead of censored ones.
Yes'r!!! Floyd are like the white blood cells of music... fighting off all the crap in ones life and making things bearable again, all while paving the way for the rest of music to follow. ;) btw... The Main Squeeze did an amazing rendition... Clare Torry tho.
I know this is a guitar channel and the guitar is amazing, but the lead singer's vocals are so warm and smooth. It's like wrapping up in your favorite blanket warm out of the dryer on a cold night.
Love how they’re all inhabiting different sonic/frequency zones. So layered and cohesive. The production on this album is so legendary. To re-create it live like this is sick.
I discovered Main Squeeze while I was youtubing through music stuff during lockdown and they SLAP. I saw them live when they came to new york and it was fkn beautiful.
The line "Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way" is possibly a reference to 'Walden,' in which Henry David Thoreau wrote, "The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation." Either way, as with nearly all Pink Floyd lyrics, exquisitely written with many layers and ambiguities.
That and the deeply built in societal norm of the 'stiff upper lip' still being common. We tend to pride ourselves on coming across as reasonable and on the level whilst seething with internal repressed rage in social engagements.
Also Michael, you may not know this; your promise to see them live is a better promise than you'll know till you see them....something that does not come through their videos is how amazing they are live. As good as they are in videos, live they are 500x better. They are one of the best live shows I have ever seen
You should do The Turnpike Troubadours. Quintessential red dirt band of the last decade. Especially The Bird Hunters, Good Lord Lorrie, or Pay No Rent. You'll absolutely love Evan Felker's storytelling.
I've always loved that line too. A couple others: "Sunshine bores the daylights out of me", RS Exile on Main St. and "Jesus can't save you, but it's nice to think he'd try", Black Crowes on 3 Snakes and 1 charm.
Played again this made me feel, old, that today I am a crone. My world colored dark OceanTeal, weeping, weaving yarns I have sown Yarns: Rambling implausible stories Yarns: Spun twisted threads
I don’t think the Main Squeeze will ever get the appreciation they truly deserve. The entire band is above and beyond but the lead guitar player sticking to his Gibson SG through everything I’ve heard providing such beautiful interpretations of everything from Floyd to Rage never ceases to amaze. The LA backdrop to allot of their videos may be a side note but also adds just a little umph to their music
I live next to Redrocks...when live gets normal again im gonna follow you guys....last thing I saw at Redrock was jurassic park....I cannot die this way😆😆😆
without a doubt the most ambitious cover I've seen on youtube. Now, these guys have nailed plenty of songs that i would put in the "do not try to cover under any circumstances" category, and I know that, but when I saw great gig in the song title....man.... I mean look, she absolutely crushed it. But, if there is ONE song that truly belongs on that list, it might just be great gig. Awesome video anyway.
At 11:59 my head exploded from a sonic assault... and then for good measure the sax kicked me when I was just recovering her vocal section.... good lord that was AWESOME!
Glad ur shouting dem out my big bro is da lead singer, i see u growin as well respect da ur musicality gangsta no cap lol stay safe change comin God bless BLM checkout The Main Squeeze🙏
