This song feels like a buddhist exorcism rite mixed with elements of kabuki, then blended together with the power of rock, I frickin' love it. Daisuke and Naoki keep kicking it out of the park.

Man I love how they keep making each song really feel like the character, and I'm just a sucker for anything that has any kinda sutra-ish sounding stuff in it. Pretty brash, a bit melancholic yet hopeful, still "japanese" even if not as throrough as the old ones, and fits with the whole enlightment thing pretty well. Probs my favorite one so far.

Japanese music has a lot of sudden/imperfect cadence endings. Even their national anthem ends on one. Much to the blueballsing of others.

The one thing I will never stop loving about Daisuke is his fearlessness for trying something unique and different, especially when it comes to fighting games a lot of the OSTs tend to go for whatever has worked before. Meanwhile daisuke is over here like “let’s have a rock Buddhist chant with a queen ballad in the middle”

I just love how it starts super slow, like Baiken is just taking some SAKE before a big fight, then it speeds up just a little, then GOES INTO FULL CHANT AND HEAVY ROCK!!! This is a banger of a OST!! I hope they release the OST SONGS as well!

Baiken’s theme is easily my second favorite of the DLC songs, Drift (Happy Chaos) still holds the number one spot for DLC. I always look forward to the new characters for their themes and your excellent breakdowns of them!

I love this track. It starts out with a sound that honestly reminds me of Dire Straits (more specifically their "Brothers in Arms" album), then launches into straight-up Metallica with Buddhist purification chants until we hit the traditional Japanese instrumentals (shamisen and flute), and THEN we get the Bohemian Rhapsody-like part near the end before the Metallica and chanting kick back in. It rocks from top to bottom and is definitely one of my top 5 off of the Strive OST.
